William Regal

Guest MrWonderful

Greetings from Blighty my fellow wrestling fans! I just happened upon your board whilst browsing the UK's very own UK Fan Forum, and I thought I'd pay you a visit.

One of the finest talents to grace the WWF ring at present is the impeccable William Regal, I'm sure you'll agree?

His "unusual" style or European style to us in the Homeland makes him a truly unique wrestling icon. It is about time that Vince McMahon recognized his talent and put the World Title belt around his waist.

After all the best wrestlers have always been British and the best action you yanks can come up with involves assualting each other with Tables and chairs. That's not wrestling! That's street violence! Something us Brits find somewhat uncivilised!

So if anyone over there in the good ol' US of A is able to string a coherent sentence together, us Brits would be interested to here your views on the greatest wrestler you will ever have the pleasure of seeing, your side of the Atlantic.

The problem with Regal is that he's getting on in years.  The guy used to wrestle for the AWA.

His style is very hard to work with in the WWF.  Most of the roster is not very flexible when it comes to messing styles.  The only people Regal can really face are Beniot, Lance Storm and possible some OVW talent.

Regal is not under rated. He just can't bring the goods anymore. He was able to have great matches  w/ Pillman and Mero when he was in WCW. I think his only watchable match was with Stone Cold since he's been in the WWF. If his European style can't be adopted to then he needs to change it, pure and simple.

The match at the Pillman show with Benoit was great, but I think Benoit carried him. He hasn't really had a good match since the Austin match, I agree there, and he has been pretty much a waste since he did the whole commissioner angle. But you gotta love his facial expressions though.

-Afterall, only a few people are good enough to carry the Undertaker to a good match... tho the case with Regal is he looks so bad lately that the UT would look better by default... ugh.

-Live the gimmick! Yes! Copying wrestlers rules! If Regal's style is 'realistic' than I guess the very close style Goldust is too, eh?

Can we trade him in for Jody Feisch? Please?

Now I don't think USA bashing was warranted by our British author. That's not a great way to make an impression for your first post buddy. But I'll forgive you, this time. :)

IMHO, Regal's wrestling went out the window once he got the commissioner angle, and was reduced to wrestling once a month or so...if they gave him some more time in ring to work the rust out, and gave him an opponent who isnt just an acrobat (someone please convince Dean Malenko to unretire!!), and killed the brass knucks thing, I think he could be a legit IC champion.
