Guest Report post Posted June 17, 2002 Cracker Barrel kicks more BUTT than a BUTT kicking machine. Especially their breakfasts. I love it! And it's cheaper than most fast food breakfasts. I wish I lived in the middle of nowhere so a Cracker Barrel would be nearby. Damn you, New York Metro Area!
Guest dreamer420 Report post Posted June 17, 2002 what is cracker barrel?
Guest razazteca Report post Posted June 17, 2002 I concur that Cracker Barrel is a nice place to eat out!!! Southern Country style gourmet at reasonable prices, I can still taste the Chicken & Dumplings, Chicken Pot Pie, and the corn bread.....yummy. The restuarents are usually located on major highways across the country, its a better place to stop than say Stuckys. But my favorite southern style food restuarant has to be Po Folks
Guest converge241 Report post Posted June 17, 2002 cracker barrel rules all!!!!!, not just breakfast!!!! the closest one I have to me is like 90 minutes away, but i still get there a few times per year (on camping, vacation, or day excursions up north). i curse the gift shop though, if only because my wife will spend HOURS there.. country cooking, good prices, big servings yum yum
Guest TheDames7 Report post Posted June 17, 2002 Cracker Barrel is also Lance Storm's favorite place to eat! Being from the NYC area, that kinda sucks because not only don't we get CB, but we can't even get a Denny's up in here! Dames
Guest J*ingus Report post Posted June 17, 2002 Cracker Barrell... ah, here's a story for you. About ten years ago, my family was dining at that very restaraunt, when suddenly, a waitress tripped and dropped a full load of heavy earthenware plates over my brother's head. One of which even broke in half over his skull. Fast forward to when our lawsuit FINALLY went to trial. Their lawyers were amazing. The tried to say that the plates never really hit him, and if they did they didn't do any real damage, and the doctor who says otherwise is lying, and on and on and on. It was disgusting. They waited until literally the last possible second before offering a settlement, which my brother and his lawyer decided to take after chickening out. I can't say exactly how much it was, but let's just say that it's not exactly going to pay for his college tuition, and none of us were very happy about it. Ergo, that's why I never go to Cracker Barrell anymore.
Guest Report post Posted June 17, 2002 We used to have a Po Folks. That place OWNED. The closest Cracker Barrel is some 30 miles from where I live(in South Carolina, a Cracker Barrel is far away!) However, I would gladly go that far if I had money for all that gas. Their... well, everything, rules.
Guest converge241 Report post Posted June 17, 2002 Jingus, thats awful. That type of litigation is sickening. It baffles me how the basic whole defense would be something like that. I could understand them from their nature trying to prove other opinions, but to just come right out and state the doctors are lying? how can they get away with that? Sure, the medical community faked all the xrays etc, which im sure your family obtained, pertainign to injuries. It makes me not want to go there..sorry about your experience
Guest Mark4steamboat Report post Posted June 18, 2002 Kotzen where in SC do you live? I dont like cracker barrel(well i havent tried it in about 4 yrs). i ma big fan of breakfest but im not a fan of southern breakfasts(sausage, grist, etc)
Guest Report post Posted June 18, 2002 Chucktown!!!! (Charleston) But not for much longer. The area of the city in which I live (James Island) has resolved to break off and form its own town.
Guest Report post Posted June 18, 2002 cracker barrell is the shit. But my experience is no matter where the location, you usually have to wait at least half an hour, and thats if it's slow. --Rob
Guest MarvinisaLunatic Report post Posted June 18, 2002 Kotzen, doh...I was just in Charleston for the last two years at College. I dont think you're as far away from a CB as you think, as there is one right on 26. As for CB - Good food and an odd atmosphere, Nice staff (usually) and decent prices. I liked the Roasted Vidalia onion I had one time for dinner, which is something very few places have. A cool thing to do is sit in the rockers after you've eaten and watch as people drive buy thinking theres a wait.
Guest Report post Posted June 18, 2002 Yes, but I'm on James Island, about as far from anything north of the peninsula as I could be, except for Folly Beach. THAT'S far from everything.
Guest Mark4steamboat Report post Posted June 18, 2002 wow we are on oppisite sides of the state. im like 15 miles from the georgia border.SC ROCKS!

Guest Vyce Report post Posted June 19, 2002 Cracker Barrel kicks ass. But they're hard to find. Unless you're traveling south on I-95, then you'll find one off every other exit ramp. But my favorite southern style food restuarant has to be Po Folks That place was great! Unfortunately, you can't find them much anymore.
Guest ant_7000 Report post Posted June 19, 2002 Cracker Barrel is the shit. I live about 10 minutes away from 1, most of them are off highways for truckers and tourists.
Guest Mark4steamboat Report post Posted June 20, 2002 i-95 has a ton of cracker barrels. almost every exit you will find one. what is hard to find now are 76 truck stops. Truck stops rule; 76 has awesome food and interesting gift shops. i found an indy wrestling vid at a truck stop for 5 bucks.
Guest lomasmoney Report post Posted June 20, 2002 Plus they have that kick ass little game where u try to jump the little golf tee looking things so where u have 1 left
Guest Razor Roman Report post Posted June 20, 2002 I usually eat one meal a day at Cracker Barrel on my drives from NJ to Orlando. I love the breakfast, but the dinners are quite good too, and quite reasonable. Plus you can get good candy in the gift stop. Which reminds me... does anyone know what Horehound is? It's a flavor of those little candy sticks they sell. But I just think i t's funny. (For obvious reasons)
Guest franchise632 Report post Posted June 23, 2002 Well I am planning on having my first Cracker Barrel expierence this week. I am moving from Salem Oregon to Minnesota. The closest CB is in Missoula Montana. However I am planning on staying in Bismarck, North Dakota on Tueday night, and will be having breakfast at the CB in there. I have heard good things about this place and just have to try it. The menu off there website has so much good stuff I dont know how i will choose.
Guest El Satanico Report post Posted June 25, 2002 horehound is nasty shit. It basically tastes like black licorice. I can't stand the shit but if you like black licorice then you'd probably like it
Guest Razor Roman Report post Posted June 26, 2002 Ugh! Black licorice sucks. I guess it really is nasty, just like the name "horehound" (whore hound?) implies.
