Of course it's not right to hit your woman and i'm not defending the act at all. However shit happens and just because someone does it doesn't automatically make them some mentally screwed up monster that needs professional help. Just because Debra said he has done it before doesn't make it true. People will say all kind of stuff after a big fight, so can't really take anything said at that time as the concrete truth. I'm wondering because usually you don't pick up the phone and call the cops in the middle of a beatdown, and Austin was gone when the cops came. I am imaging that he stopped and went to another room or something before she called the police. She didn't press charges or seek medical attention so I'm kind of curious as to what she intended to do and what she thought would happen.
