WWE suspends 10 wrestlers

Recommended Posts

I've heard this argument before, "Orton isn't that bad because all wrestlers are shady and we don't know what they've done". Um, no. Orton's behavior is so immature and frequently out of control that we HAVE heard about it, many times. That's kind of the point. Rather like Katt Williams espousing on why he thinks Michael Jackson is guilty: "Don't nobody say the same shit about you for twenty years!"

Like I said, I'm not defending him being a dick. In fact I'm pretty sure they are right by saying he's a dick. Bit that doesn't make him and shitty wrestler. And last time I checked, Life isn't fair. So sitting on here bitching because Orton never got suspended and Kennedy did isn't gonna fix anything. Accept the fact that he's a dick, he's in obviously in someone's good graces to avoid all the BS, so more power to him.

Most of them.

Maria and Kelly seem the least likely. Some are really obvious, like Ashley, Victoria, Melina, and Beth Phoenix.

If you want to be truly horrified, watch some of Angel Williams in AAA to see what an eating disorder-stricken, roided up WWE Diva looks like amongst healthy, athletic women.

You're exactly right. It's his shitty wrestling that makes him a shitty wrestler!

According to house who report from Terra Haute, indeed neither Kennedy nor Umaga were there. Booker wasn't either, but he's often not on these house shows and wasn't even advertised or was on a press release until Friday anyway.

He's probobally one of the best wrestlers in the company right now as far as the all round pacage goes. Anyone who says he isn't is in denial because he's at the top of his game right now was in one of the top programs for an extended period of time and has the look. What part of that makes him a shitty wrestler? Is it the fact that he doesn't do the cattle mutilation, or a backdrop driver? Or is it your opinion that anyone who keeps it old school is a bad wrestler.... explain your logic.

I find him to be incredibly stiff in the ring. And I don't mean Stan Hansen stiff, I mean Giant Kahli stiff. The only thing to which I look forward is when he stalks his opponent to give him the RKO, and he doesn't even need to be in a match to do that.

The quality of his matches depends on his opponents. If he's in there with an established person, he'll tend to look good b/c truth be told a lot of the top guys are good in the ring. If he's in there with a jobber, it'll be a squash on his part, which makes him look dominant and hides his weaknesses.

I'll grant that he busts out a few nice moves here and there, but he just doesn't come across as very smooth in the ring on the whole.

Wouldn't this ring true with about 95% of the roster? Most of the top guys are good...that is why they are top guys. The other top guys who aren't good are there cause they are monsters and in that case they are usually matched with a smaller worker to make them look at least decent. That's the nature of the business as is the point of having him in there with a jobber is to have him look strong and hide his weakness. It's not his job to help a jobber get over.

This I can understand you saying, but that hardly makes him a horrible wrestler. Awkward at times, but still better then alot of the people who are his competition in the dressing room.

TOP RAW STAR QUITTING THE COMPANY?

There is a rumor (and I stress RUMOR) that one top Raw talent may have given notice to leave the company, but until we can confirm that as 100% correct, I'm going to withhold the name.

I'm not the biggest Cena fan, but I will give him props for carrying Kahli to some damn watchable matches. Do you think Orton would have been able to have done the same? That's the crux of it, in my eyes: the true test of a wrestlers comes when he's put in there with bad or limited wrestlers who are pushed at the same level. A wrestler can look good against someone who makes wrestlers look good, and a wrestler can look good when he's booked to be a monster (Golderg, anyone?), but what happens when he's put in there with someone who tends to be wrestler who is supposed to be made to look good?

WORLD WRESTLING ENTERTAINMENT CHANGES HIRING PRACTICES, ANNOUNCES TWO MAJOR CHANGES TO WELLNESS POLICY TO WRESTLERS

by Mike Johnson

World Wrestling Entertainment's Stephanie McMahon and John Laurinaitis held a meeting with the Smackdown and ECW talent last night in Cincinnati, Ohio prior to yesterday's television tapings to discuss new changes to the WWE Wellness Policy:

*The company will begin to test for marijuana shortly. A positive will not result in a suspension but all positives will be met with a fine of, at least, $1000 per offense.

*The company will also begin testing for anti-estrogen drugs, which can be taken to offset some of the effects of steroid and HGH use. A positive for any anti-estrogen agents will result in Wellness suspensions.

*The company also announced that any new potential hires will have to undergo and pass the WWE Wellness test before they are signed to the company.

TWO DIFFERENT PERFORMERS ESCORTED OUT OF LAST NIGHT'S TV TAPING IN OHIO

by Mike Johnson

Two different performers were escorted from last night's television taping in Cincinnati, Ohio.

Nick "Eugene" Dinsmore was among those who sitting in one the meeting regarding changes in the WWE Wellness Policy. Following the meeting, he was informed he was released from the company and led out of the building. Dinsmore was slated to take a more active role in Ohio Valley Wrestling working with some of the greener talent, so the release was said to have been a complete shock to him.

Chris Cage, a former WWE developmental talent who was released some time ago following a Wellness issue, but has since returned to OVW in an attempt to earn a new deal, was booked to work as an extra on the taping, in some minor role. Numerous sources have told me he was also asked to leave the taping with the belief being the company didn't want someone who had been released due to Wellness issues being around in the current environment.

Sounds like Eugene got fired for the sake of impressions. They didn't think it'd look good to have a guy who was in rehab a relatively short time ago for painkillers still working for the company.

WWE.com:

WWE has come to terms on the release of WWE SmackDown talent Eugene as of September 1. We wish Eugene the best in all future endeavors.

They fired one retard will they ask Jim Duggan to leave next?

Booker?

Would make the most sense since has been threatening to retire and go to his school (or was it promotion?) for some time. Plus with the wellness suspension and the dead end destruction of his character "feud" with HHH, he might just say screw it and leave.

Course the term "top star" can also be applied loosely to anyone on television in the WWE. Be funny if it was Cena though, just to see the extreme panic mode. It's not but I dunno, it would be good for a laugh to see what they could pull off then.

Looks like RVD got out at the right time.

I wonder how many former WWE wrestlers TNA can cram into an hour now.

That's why they got the second hour, so the left overs doesn't take up more of Angle's screen time.

TOP WWE STAR CLAIMING HE WANTS TO SUE THE MEDIA, STEPHANIE DISCUSSING VINCE WANTING TO GO BEFORE CONGRESS, HHH ADDRESSES THE BOYS & MORE

by Mike Johnson

During the talent meeting with the wrestlers on the ECW and Smackdown brand yesterday afternoon, Stephanie McMahon told the performers that thirteen suspensions were handed out in regard to issues with performers receiving substances from online pharmacies and two were issues due to drug screening failures. We've only seen the company publicly confirm 11, so it's possible Stephanie had incorrect numbers or there are more suspensions/firings to be announced. If McMahon was speaking correctly, there was 15 total suspensions, plus the firing of Mike Bucci.

Also interesting to note that McMahon told the wrestlers that Vince McMahon was "looking forward to the Congressional hearings" on the sport and to testifying before Congress if and when he was called to do so. Two separate sources stated that Stephanie joked to the wrestlers that Vince was thinking of wearing a clown wig and shoes when he entered Congress in order to make a statement on the hearings.

During the meeting, Batista asked Stephanie about what could be done legally about his name being included on the recent media reports, citing publicly in front of the crew that he had never received anything from the online pharmacy companies. Stephanie told him that was an issue he and his personal attorneys should look into, also commenting that she was under the impression he was already doing that (which would mean a civil lawsuit seeking damages). Batista was telling numerous performers that he was extremely upset at Sports Illustrated and other media outlets for reporting his name, claiming there was no connection between him and the pharmacies.

When the meeting was over, Triple H addressed the wrestlers with something of a "rah rah" speech, saying that right now, he knows they are probably feeling they are in a horrible business and questioning why they want to be involved in it. He reminded them that they have a dream job where they get to make children happy and they get to live out their dreams of being involved in the business they all grew up loving. He said that he was proud to be a professional wrestler and that the entire business, not just WWE but all of wrestling, was under fire so it was up to the boys to stick together and work through it.
