Guest Report post Posted June 18, 2002 I was on vacation last week so I couldn't post. For the record, the releases I was interested in were Black Hawk Down, Monster's Ball and Real Genius. As for this week, I haven't seen ANY of the titles, but I am interested in them either as purchases or rentals. American Psycho II: I loved the original American Psycho, so I am curious about the sequel. I know it's a pretty much unrelated to the original and it's a low budget, direct to video flick, but I'll rent it. The Attic Expeditions: I have heard great stuff about this movie, and it stars Jeffrey Combs so that makes it even more appealing for me. I may just buy this one. Beneath Loch Ness: Direct to video horror fluff about Nesse. Probably rental material and it will be treated as so. The Majestic: Jim Carrey's latest dramatic effort and box office bomb. I almost saw this in the theatre, but ended up skipping it. I'll rent it and if it's decent, pick up a used copy a few weeks later. Tidal Wave: Made for TV movie about a Tidal Wave (duh). I don't know much about it, but low budget disaster movies can be good for a laugh. 'Till next week.
Guest J*ingus Report post Posted June 18, 2002 American Psycho II: so if Patrick Bateman's crimes were all in his head, how can one of his "victims" survive to star in their own horror movie? When the ENTIRE FILM is a continuity error, that's not a good sign. The Majestic: don't bother. Imagine all the bad parts of Truman Show with none of the good ones. The Attic Expeditions, Beneath Loch Ness, Tidal Wave: never heard of 'em. The titles alone will keep me away from the last two, what's Attic about?

Guest El Satanico Report post Posted June 18, 2002 American Psycho II is just some b movie trying to make money off the name. It appears to have nothing at all to do with the original movie. I wouldn't be too concerned about making the comparison or wondering how they could do a seqeul. However it does have SHATNER in it...that's worth the price of rental alone. I hope this doesn't open up another AP can of worms, but I thought the point of the movie was that everyone was so uncaring in the 80's that no one noticed that Bateman killed everyone and that it did all happen. Guest J*ingus Report post Posted June 20, 2002 That happened all over the boards. Some people like me have fortunately kept their posts, others have had all of them erased permanently. It's like the Left Behind or something.
