WWE General Discussion - October 2007

I think that could work, and if he wanted to dig and go way back he could even throw in the stun gun as signature move.

That's cool about Batista listening to the kids advice. From everything I've heard, he is a classy dude to fans.

There's a lot of stories you hear about the guy that make you not want to like him, but the guy's such a nice person to his fans, you cant help but do so. Good story about him from a Smackdown taping I went to several months ago. Batista was wrestling Khali in the dark match after ECW ended, and he won by DQ, but not before giving Khali a spinebuster to pop the crowd. After the match, Batista took what seemed like 15-20 minutes to walk around ringside and shake hands / take pictures / or just chat with anyone who wanted to do so. Then, he finally went to leave, and stood at the ECW entrance and bowed to everyone. Then the 300-400 people that were still there all started chanting for him, so he gave this "ah, what the hell?" expression, smiled, and walked back up to ringside to make sure he didn't miss anyone the first time. The guy seems like a truly nice and humble person, and is nothing but classy with his fans. Especially with the young kids who look up to these guys as real-life superheroes.

We had Batista in store for a signing at the Borders I worked at today. About 350 people showed up, not bad for the middle of a Tuesday. Myself and a cop waited outside to escort him in, and he showed up in a nice Vince-sized limo. He had a guy with him I didn't recognize. I was hoping for Bruce Prichard or Johnny Ace. Oh well. He's really quiet in person, but smiled and took photos with everyone.

The line ended, and we all went to the office to get our personal stuff signed, and we heard more people had showed up. He quickly went back out and signed for another 15 minutes, which I thought was nice, since his time was up and he really didn't have to stay. Then I had him sign my Vengeance 2005 DVD insert, and we actually talked for a minute about his HITC with HHH, and how it's his favorite match. He said he was bummed that not too many stores carry the DVD anymore. Then the whole staff took a group photo, and he put his arm around me, which felt more like a headlock.

He was a complete and total class act, and everyone (including the non fans) were really impressed with him. The funniest part was when a little kid tried to tell him how to reverse Taker's tombstone. He just sat there and gave him all the attention in the world.

Here's a photo. Feel free to tell me how grotesque I look:

Ya. The Smackdown/ECW taping I went to Sep. 25th, he had a dark match w/ Kahli for the title. After the match, there was a kid (around 8) who had gotten a pair of black trunks to match Batista's and actually took his shit off and just wore the trunks and was standing up on his chair in the 1st row. When batista was posing in the corners of the ring, after he won the match and kahli had gone to the back, he got to the post by where the kid was and started to climb the turnbuckles, but saw the kid and fell back down laughing. He was pointing at the kid and told one of the security guys to get the kid and bring him up. The security helped the kid over the guardrail and got up in the ring w/ Batista. Batista posed with the kid for the crowd in the middle of the ring and shook the ropes with the kid. Then he handed him the belt and the kid posed w/ it in the middle of the ring and climbed the turnbuckles in the corner and posed with it. After all that, which lasted around 10 minutes, Batista walked around the ringside and gave fives to everyone who had their hand out. If he missed someone, he went back and made sure he got everybody. It was crazy. I didn't expect anything like that from him.

A couple of people on the torch forum were saying Santino should start using the stunner, acting like he invented it in his deadpan way. I think it's a great idea. What do you guys think?

He's gonna get stunnered himself this sunday.

Did the Hurricane ever win a match with a chokeslam?

He should bust that out one day under Gregory Helms, I wonder if that'll get booed.

I think he got a win over Tajiri with it. I may be wrong though; 2002 was a long time ago.

When Kane and The Hurricane won the Tag Titles from the Un-Americans they both hit their opponents with chokeslams at the same time for the finish, but I'm not quite sure if they both went for pins or if only Kane did it.

More on Kristal's release. From Alvarez

WWE axed Krystal. This was a long time in the making. According to one source, she'd been caught lying a few times to the writers. She would tell people that Teddy or Vickie weren't happy with certain angles, and then Teddy and Vickie would get upset when word got back to them about what she'd said. She was also notorious for ignoring feedback from agents about her segments and matches on house shows. They'd ask her to sell beatings, and instead she'd always jump up and slap hands with people all the way to the back. Originally, there was an idea of moving her from Smackdown to Raw, since she's been dating Bobby Lashley. As the heat escalated, though, Vince finally snapped and asked why the hell they were investing in her. The plan dating back to August was that after the Viagra angle, Vickie would gain power (as has happened) and then about a week later just fire Krystal. At the time, the idea was it would no longer be a fake firing that would send her to Raw, but a legit firing. Eventually, they just dropped that aspect of it and she was never heard from again.

Damnit, I love it when they shoot fire people on TV (like Simmons in 2004 and Marc Mero's 1999 retirement after losing to Gillberg, though that was more of an injury issue I think).

I have a hard time respecting anyone who writes something like this. I don't give a fuck how many hands he has slapped.

"Now, don't get me wrong, my ex-wife is the love of my life and I would never knowingly hurt her. However, while I was busting my BUTT on the road like a dog, she would sit around the house and do nothing. I mean, yeah, she had cancer, but she couldn't vacuum? And since the chemo made her "not in the mood", I had no choice but to have threesomes on the road. I mean, she's talented and I hated to see her waste her life like that when she could be a dancer, or maybe a nurse. But she's not a bad person and I take full responsibility for my actions, even though it was her fault."

I read that not too long ago as well. While I will give him credit where it's due for his fan interaction, he is one sorry sack of shit when it comes to his now ex-wife. Your ex wasn't in the mood due to chemo, AND ITS HER FAULT YOU DECIDED TO CHEAT ON HER?! Since when is it anyones fault that they get cancer? Batista can eat a dick for that.

That quote is fake. Several people who had read it claim it isn't in there.

EDIT:.......oh....

lol, I seriously doubt WWE would ever release a book with such a tasteless passage.

Even though I just kind of chuckled to myself over what I just wrote, I still can't see WWE releasing that has one of their top stars saying "I know she had cancer, but can't she at least vacuum?".

I didn't see this anywhere so figured i would post it here. If I missed it somewhere else, apologies extended. :)

There was an incident involving Undertaker and Chris Masters during a Taker & Kane vs. Finlay & Masters match last week at a house show in Scotland.

It all started when Taker started working over Masters' arm early in the match. Masters tagged out and just stood there on the apron without selling the pain. On the other side of the ring, Taker was gesturing to Masters as if to say, "Sell your arm, dumbass." Masters still wasn't doing anything, and then Taker actually yelled it across the ring. Masters sold a bit and then apparently forgot again.

Masters was tagged back into the match, and apparently Undertaker roughed him up, blooding and perhaps breaking his nose. Masters then started having trouble breathing and got completely blown up. He finally rolled out of the ring and sold like he'd hurt his arm legit. As it turns out, Masters actually dislocated his elbow at some point.

Some guys came out and took Masters to the back. Finlay finished the rest of the match alone. That was the last time Masters wrestled on the tour. Also, a photo of Masters wearing a sling on his arm turned up online, so his injury was serious.

Isn't there some kind of unwritten policy about not intentionally hurting other workers? I mean i understand the idea of working stiff to get a point across but if this was anyone else other than Undertaker, they would most likely be punished, yes? With all the guys getting hurt by accident, it should be pretty unacceptable that someome would be putting guys out intentionally.

Taker probably decided that if he wasn't going to sell his arm being hurt, that he's really hurt his arm. He probably didn't plan on injuring it though. Of course there will be no ramifications as Undertaker is untouchable and Masters is replaceable. Masters couldn't even stick up for himself in the match (stiff the Undertaker back) because it would have been a career ender, and he would have probably got beat up backstage.

Who really watches for selling and such at house shows? I mean wouldn't it have been easier to pull him aside after the match backstage and tell him he's gotta sell the arm even when he's not in the ring?

It's good that Undertaker made gestures and reminded Masters to sell the arm. A veteran like himself should be helping the younger talent out to improve their in-ring work.

However, going in and legit roughing the guy up is uncalled for. I don't think Masters was intentionally trying to screw up his selling. It's extremely unprofessional and beneath Taker to act like that. Now someone's unnecessarily hurt.
