Guest KoR Fungus Report post Posted June 19, 2002 Any DDR players here? I finally bought DDR:Konamix after playing it at friends' dorms for awhile, and I've become a total addict over the last month. I'm up to about trick sevens now, although I was very proud of myself when I hacked my way through maniac eight Absolute a couple days ago, hehe. Anyone else play? Guest CED Ordonez Report post Posted June 19, 2002 Finally somebody brings up DDR in the video game section. Yes I play DDR, just look at my avatar. Been playing for a bit over two years now. My stamina has been on a steady decline ever since the arcade I go to got DrumMania though so I don't play a fanatically as I used to.
Guest Black Lushus Report post Posted June 19, 2002 bro...i've been playing that shiznit since last March, hell yeah I'm all over it, that and ParaPara Paradise...
Guest CED Ordonez Report post Posted June 19, 2002 Lushus plays PPP? Hey I got no prob with it. As long as I modify the para paras to make 'em a bit less feminine I'm perfectly comfortable with the PPP cage.
Guest Black Lushus Report post Posted June 19, 2002 hell I play PPP more than DDR bro! I pretty much "Americanize", or as a japanese friend once told me "bastardize", the Para routines to look less femmy...basically shaking my ass or my hips or waving my arms differently than the routines suggest...nagata lock, do you post on DDRFreak? i've seen that avatar over there before... Guest Sandman9000 Report post Posted June 19, 2002 I tried. And I failed miserably. I play the PC version, Dance With Intensity. My fingers move much better then my feet.

Guest CED Ordonez Report post Posted June 19, 2002 nagata lock, do you post on DDRFreak? i've seen that avatar over there before... Actually I do, Lushus, but the avatar I use here is somebody else's on DDRFreak's board. I knew eventually someone would recognize the avatar and find me out. I do post on the DDRFreak's board, but I hardly post anything outside of the Northern California section.
Guest Karnage Report post Posted June 24, 2002 Where's a good place to buy a dance pad for cheap? And are there such things as official Konami pads? All I see is those knockoff ones with the two extra buttons in the top left and right corners.
Guest KoR Fungus Report post Posted June 24, 2002 eBay is a great place for cheap pads. My first DDR purchase was DDR:Konamix and two third party pads, for $44 total (plus shipping). If you figure that Konamix is worth $30, then that's only like $7 a pad. The only problem is shipping, which can be kind of expensive since the pads are pretty heavy. There are official pads, but for some reason they seem harder to find than third party imitation pads. There's nothing really wrong with third party pads though. Just make sure to go into controller options and turn off non-arrow buttons during gameplay, or else those extra buttons on the bottom will really get in the way. I'm looking to upgrade my pads now, I want something a little more sturdy than the basic pad. Has anyone tried the "Deluxe Ignition" pad or any of the hard pads? Those higher quality pads are pretty expensive, so I want to make sure they're quality before I buy one.
