California Championship Wrestling's staff has been working NON STOP to improve our BRAND NEW TV Studios in anticipation of our return to COMCAST ON DEMAND! It's taken a lot of hard work to get everything ready for TV but the results will be worth it! Here are the results from Saturday.

 

Another fantastic capacity crowd greeted the CCW superstars on the seasonably warm October Saturday night at the improved new CCW studios in Newman, CA!

 

As is becoming the custom, JJ's introduction was rudely interrupted by the obnoxious rantings and ravings of the Sotello Syndicate- Buddy Sotello Esquire of course, but also Vinnie, The BadApple Associates and Ryan Drago, all coming to the ring and grabbing the mic from JJ! Vinnie announced that CCW really should be changed to SSCW, or "Sotello Syndicate Championship Wrestling"! He guaranteed that the Syndicate would take any means possible to make sure that the Westside Championship would indeed be under the control of the Syndicate before the night was through! Buddy also told the fans he had an announcment to make, but first taunted Shane to come to ringside. As an infuriated Dynasty listened on, Buddy yelled at Shane and said that because he had suffered "grievous" injury to his neck as a result of Shane's pounding of him at the end of the match last month, that Buddy had obtained a restraining order for Shane to get no closer than 50 feet from him! That meant that the tag team match between the BadApples & Big Ugly/Shane would become a handicap match unless Big Ugly could find a suitable partner before he had to wrestle! Needless to say Shane had to be restrained by security to keep from violating that very same restraining order and being reported to Newman's Police Department for arrest! Needless to say the CCW studios were filled with the sound of BOOs but it wasn't from any haunting ghosts!

 

After the Syndicate cleared the ring, the first contest started with British Messiah Timothy Thatcher versus Reno Scum member Luster the Legend. Thatcher quickly explained on the mic that Sir William was detained after an "ugly incident" at customs (maybe something other than "tea" in that teapot of his?) and would not be with him tonight-- and the missing manservant DID take the edge off of the normally infallible Englander. Luster used his massive size and strength, in combination with a suprising knowledge of scientific counter wrestling skill to belabor and befuddle the beaten Brit, who definitely was missing Sir William outside as a distraction to get an advantage on the Legendary one. In the end, Luster used a "million dollar dream" sleeper combination with a Russian Leg Sweep that set up the submission dream-camel clutch back breaker on the mat. Ref Byron made sure that the lanky limey didn't suffer any more damage to his back and spine by declaring Luster the winner! You could see that Luster was greatly looking forward to his friend Adam's title shot coming up later against the Champ, Vinnie!

 

The following match featured tag team action with the human video game R-Cayde and a brand new tag team partner for him! As if R-Cayde hadn't had enough troubles with Hammerhead Drake (who had been suffering from a "recurring football injury" to be able to make it to the show on Saturday!), a brand new partner was matched up with him; "Busniess Man" Jesus Kruz; No longer the "Brownsnake", Business Man Kruz came to ringside toting a wheeled suitcase and all sorts of crazy items for sale in the ring! R-Cayde was beside himself with the shennanigans of Kruz's new career plans! While R-Cayde pondered what he would do with his new partner, the same could not be said of the brand new tag team that electrified the audience as soon as their name was announced: High Flying Virgil Flynn and El Chupacabra! The Newman Studios' 150 Fans jumped to their feet and cheered SO loudly for the lightweight combatants, and Virgil was even sporting a spare pair of Chupy's tights to give them a "matching look"! The chemistry of Chupy and Virgil was far too much, and it seemed that Jesus had other things on his mind, straying away from the ring apron and trying to sell some of his...ahem...crap... to an unwilling crowd at ringside...R-Cayde was left in the ring having to take on the pounding that the two sparkplugs were dishing out in the ring, and while skilled and formidable by himself one on one with either of these competitors, it was proving to be too much for R-Cayde. So, R-Cayde figured that it was time to hit the "pause" button and switch to player-2 mode, because he tagged a haggling Jesus on the ring apron, and then high tailed it out of the studios altogether! Then it was time for the Business man to be taught a lesson that even Donald Trump couldn't give! A few short moves later, Chupy and Virgil did a combo powerbomb-piledriver that was simply awesome and led to Ref Toby raising their hands in victory!

 

Next, the portly purveyor of the interstate lines, Mother Truckin Otis, took on the ever-so-mysterious "Lost Soul" Mike Rayne, who brought his lovely assistant, Holly with him to ringside. Mike's ladyfriend certainly caught the eye of the good ol' boy Mother Trucker, who, like any red blooded cab rider who has been on a long stretch of road, paid a lot of attention to Holly! This allowed the dangerous high kick techniques of the Lost Soul to knock the big man off his feet. It looked as though the diabolical pair would cause a rare singles loss to the Trucker, but after a quick reversal of an irish whip and massive avalanche in the corner to Rayne, his attack was slowed down enough for the Trucker to get his hands on him. Lifting him up, it was time for the "Gotter Dun" and a-flattening happened to the Lost Soul. A quick 3 count later by Ref Clarence and MTO earned himself another big CCW win!

 

The next match was the first in CCW's triple title extravaganza on Saturday-- featuring the only Syndicate member without a title, CA Crippler Ryan Drago, and Westside Title Holder, Wrestling Personified, Rik Luxury! With Buddy slinging insults to Rik and advice to Drago at the announcer's booth ringside, the two cagey ring vets attacked each other with a variety of dropkicks, brainbuster suplexes, and of course a number of viscious arm attacks made by the Crippler who was obviously targeting Rik's left extremity! Rik was able to get to the ropes and then launched a powerful counterattack that left Drago reeling! However, while ref Guido was distracted by the appearance of the BadApples at ringside, Vinnie came to the ring with a chair and Drago held Rik's arms behind his back. When Rik got free, Vinnie held back the chair while Drago chased after Rik. However, as soon as Drago had his back turned, Vinnie showed again his treacherous side by slamming the chair into the already-damaged back of Drago! As Drago collapsed, Ref Guido turned around to see Rik on top of Drago, and counted Rik as the winner. As soon as the match ended, the entire Syndicate got into the ring and threw out a beaten and dejected Drago outside the ring, and he was barely able to be escorted out by security! Meanwhile the Syndicate celebrated COMPLETE domination of California Championship Wrestling by holding all 3 titles at once! A wonderful moment indeed if you were a Syndicate fan on Saturday, but judging by the crowd's reaction, a vast majority (if not all) of the fans in attendance clearly were NOT.

 

After a brief 15 minute intermission where Mother Truckin Otis and Warren Michaels awarded the winner of the costume contest free tickets to the next set of matches being held Nov 17th back at the studios, the Tag Team Titles were next up; but was it going to be a handicap match as Big Ugly was anticipating? Ugly got on the mic and told the fans that he was able to find a partner at the motorcyle bar down the road-- a guy named "El Gran Fangorio"-- who definitely had a LOT of tattoos for a guy who WASN'T Shane Dynasty! Yet since Buddy and the BadApple Associates, the CCW Tag Champs, couldn't prove that Ugly's new partner was indeed Shane, and Ref Guido (who was pretty sore to see his Dolphins lose to Buddy's NY Giants the week before) said that the match could go on as planned with Fangorio as Ugly's tag partner! Buddy was beside himself but what could he do except try desperately to change his strategy! The match between the 4 heavyweight combatants featured some fantastic high impact moves and the trademarked coordination and tag team expertise that CCW's first-ever tag team champions are known for! However, the team of Ugly and Fangorio certanly had a lot of coordiniation too for a couple of "strangers"! The action continued to be very hot, and Rik Luxury came to ringside, the newest Syndicate member-- and during a moment of distraction, slipped something into the BadApple's hands-- a pair of brass knuckles! However, Fangorio was able to use the knucks against T-Rent and knocked him flat getting the win! A dejected Buddy was forced to hand the title belts over to Guido and it looked like the Syndicate was going to taste its first major title defeat since that fateful Superslam in July! However, the Associates came in from behind just as Guido was about to hand the titles to Fangorio and pulled off the mask, revealing that it was in fact, Shane all the time! And since he was still in violation of the court order to stay away from the CCW studios that night, Guido had no choice but to invalidate their win and award the titles BACK to the reigning champs, the BadApples! Needless to say, the fans in attendance were highly agitated by such flagrant acts of chicanery!

 

Finally, the fans were in great anticipation for the CCW title match, pitting Champ Vinnie Massaro vs one of Nor Cal's most accomplished young wrestlers, Adam Thornstowe! Adam wasted no time thrashing Vinnie from Pillar to Post, hitting him with dropkicks from the top rope and slamming Vinnie to the mat with a resounding THUD! While Vinnie was using power moves on Adam and his ingenious innovative style to keep Adam at bay, Adam took to his agility and speed to put vinnie to the mat on a number of occasions! However, as the match wore on, Ref Toby took a viscious spin kick from Adam while trying to separate the two grapplers and was knocked flat to the mat! Sensing a moment of weakness, Buddy signaled to the back and out came Rik & The BadApples! Buddy also slid the title belt into Vinnie, who, during the confusion, held the belt up as a shield to crash on Adam's skull as he dove from the top rope in an attempt to finish Vinnie once and for all! With Adam prone and knocked out, Vinnie was able to revive Ref Toby for a 1-2-3 count!!! The Scum were unfortunately defeated in their plans to wrest the title away from Vinnie, but called for a 4 man tag match while threatening the wimpering but victorious Buddy at ringside after the match!

 

What will be the next twist on the Sotello Syndicate-Reno Scum feud? Will Vinnie be able to continue to hold onto the belt despite these challenges from Big Ugly and the Reno Scum?
