Guest Nevermortal Report post Posted June 19, 2002 -Courtesy of Rajahwwf.com The opening of the show starts with Vince asking who was returning. The Rock returns and they show highlight footage of that from RAW. Kurt Angle Interview -Kurt Angle comes out and is wearing the wig again with the headgear. Kurt looks like a cross between depressed and a little agitaded. He's very hesitent to speak and then finally does and says that he knows people have been laughing at him. He also refers to the guys in the back, he then says it's no laughing matter and that it's serious. He then says what he's about to say is extremely difficut....He then declares he's Bald. He then admits to himself that he's wearing a wig. He then talks about Edge from Judgment Day and about the match..since the match he's tried everything from Rogaine, Hair Tonic and Fertizier. *WWE shows the footage from last week when Hogan took off the wig*. Kurt says he's not a joke and he's an Olympic gold medalist. He then proceeds to taunt Hogan by saying he looks like he's 100 and can barely move. He then mocks Hogan's "I can't Hear ya" ear. Kurt then delclares that he's gonna take it all out on Hogan at King of the Ring. Angle continues to declare that Hogan will Tap, tap, tap, etc. and won't stop until he breaks Hogan's ankle and spirit. Angle then said that we'll all see who gets the last laugh. *Voodoo Child hits*. Hollywood Hulk Hogan comes down to the ring and starts flexing in front of Angle from the middle of the ramp. Hogan comes into the ring and keeps giving the Ear's to the people. Hogan then tears off his shirt and looks like he's ready to go and then gets a microphone. Hogan looks Angle straight in the eyes and declares that at KotR he'll kick Angle's Olympic ass. Both men exchange taunts for a moment and then Angle dares Hogan to try to remove his wig and punks out Hogan. Angle attempts to strike first but Hogan blocks it and drill Angle 3 times and follows up with the Big Boot. Hogan then asks the fans if they wanted to see Angle bald. Hogan took a little too long during that time to actually do it, when he got the chance, Angle gives Hogan a low blow and flees the scene. Rikishi vs. Christian -Rikishi gets the early going with a slugfest and a backbody drop and then a belly-to-belly suplex. Christian gains control with a few shots to the head and an illegal chokehold. Christian continues to hammer away and hits a couple of shoulder blocks to Rikishi's guts. Rikishi comes back with a savate kick. Christian attempts a sunsetflip and Rikishi flaps his ass cheeks but missed Christian. Rikishi reverses the UnPrettier and hits a modified version of the Bubba Cutter and gets the 1-2-3 despite the fact that Christian had his foot on the rope. Rikishi then danced in the ring and left. Lance Storm comes down to the ring and talk to the ref about the foot being on the rope. He is unable to win the argument with the ref. Lance then gets into the ring and asks Christian to join him. Lance talks about Prejudice against Canadians!! It lasts for a couple mins but he does get important points across and delcares that America Sucks!. Winner: Rikishi Triple H does all the talking to Mark Lloyd because he's hesitent to talk considering what happened last week. Triple H talks about Undertaker and Billy Gunn back during DX and mocks his Mr. Ass gimmick in comparison to Chuck. He then says he's The Game and he's That Damn Good! Nidia and Jamie are in a locker room, Nidia is talking trash about The Hurricane and then reveals Hurricane's mask right below herself under her jean skirt. Billy Kidman vs. Jamie Knoble [#1 Contender Match for Cruiserweight Title] -Great match up. As Billy was going for the Shooting Star Press he gets caught by Knoble and Knoble reverses it into a modified DDT...Ouch!. Knoble get the 1-2-3 and a shot at Hurricane Helms for the Cruiserweight title at the King of the Ring. Knoble and Nidia celebrate in the ring, Nidia takes Hurricane's mask off from below herself and puts the mask on Jamie Knoble until the lights go out and The Hurricane's Entrance video starts up and Nidia looks worried while looking at the ramp. However, The Hurricane appears in the ring pissed off and gives Jamie Knoble a bigtime Hurri-Chokeslam and reclaims his mask! Helms then leaves. Winner: Jamie Knoble Billy Gunn vs. Triple H -Great matchup, despite many attempts of interference by Rico and Chuck, Triple H manages to pull off the victory on Billy after several clotheslines, a spinebuster and nailes the Pedigree on Billy to get the 1-2-3. Good matchup. After the match, Triple H attempts to Pedigree Rico until Kurt Angle enters the ring in a quest for revenge against Triple H for last week. Triple H eventually thwarts Angle's attempts until Undertaker came out and Triple H tries to hit the Pedigree on 'Taker until Angle accidently hits Undertaker on the back with a steel chair. Triple H then flees the scene with a big smile on his face knowing that screwed up. Undertaker then goes to Vince and demands a match with Angle tonight on SmackDown! and after debate with Vince, he eventually gets it. Winner: Triple H Chris Jericho vs. Val Venis [KOTR Quarterfinal] -Great back and forth action in this quarter final match for the King of the Ring tournament. Jericho misses Val on the ropes and gets crotched bigtime. Jericho however hits the bulldog on Val and goes for the Lionsault but missed. Val gives Jericho a shoulder knockdown and then Val gives Jericho a slingshot into the corner and follows up with a spinebuster..2 count only. Jericho tries for the Walls of Jericho but Val turns it into a rollup. Jericho accidently drills the ref and then Val hits the fisherman suplex and had the match won but the ref was still down. Val hits the modified powerbomb on Jericho, 2 count only. Jericho low blows Val and then locks in the Walls of Jericho to get the tap out from Val. Winner: Chris Jericho Hardcore Holly vs. Test [KOTR Quarterfinal] -Both men lock up and Test shruggs off Holly, Holly however returns the favor with a few punches and a clothesline, then follows up with a powerslam. Test comes back with a major clothersline on Holly in the corner. Test sends Holly into the other corner of the ring with the same clothesline again. Test kicks a away at Holly and tries a pumphandle slam but Holly escapes the hold and knocks down Test. Test climbs to the top rope but falls right into Holly's trademark dropkick. Test hits the pumphandle slam on Holly, only a 2 count. Both men then exchange punches and then Holly decends to the ropes only to walk into Test's Big Boot. Test gets the 1-2-3 and advances in the KotR. Winner: Test Vince feels he's made a volitle situation between Undertaker and Kurt Angle. Vince requests a couple of guys to come see him and send 1 of each of them to get Undertaker and Angle. Vince then expressed concern of the volitility to Stacy and tells her to wait for him at the hotel but not before he kissed her as a preview of what's to come. After a match-by-match recaps of the final card of King of the Ring, Undertaker is in Vince's office and Kurt Angle arrives a moment later. Vince tries to play Peacemaker. Vince stands between both men and tries to reason with them and claims that the fans wants just clean competition. Vince wanted them to shake hands and Undertaker talks about Angle's threats to break his ankle. Kurt then explains to Vince that Undertaker left him high and dry last week and let alone he has a bad attitude. Undertaker then says Angle has a bad wig and Undertaker says that if Angle wears it out in the arena that he'll shuve it down his throat. Angle demands 'Taker to take that remark back and then 'Taker calls him Q-ball. Angle then jumps 'Taker with Vince being a human sandwich between it. Undertaker then yells at Vince to get off him. Vince then gets pissed off and calls Angle an SOB twice. Mark Lloyd interviews Jericho and Jericho talks his usual heel trash about RVD and that he'll go on to be King of the Ring....Junior! Undertaker vs. Kurt Angle -Match is nontitle. Angle comes down and grabs a chair and ready to swing at anything. Angle locks in the Ankle lock within just a moment but Undertaker got to the ropes. Angle dominates the match for a few mins, he even takes off a turnbuckle pad. Angle goes after Undertaker's left leg in this match. Undertaker punishes Angle outside the ring with right hands. Undertaker uses Angle's body as a missile over his shoulder and drives his head into a steel post. Undertaker and Angle get back into the ring and gives him a big boot. As Undertaker was going for a chokeslam, Angle reverse it into a rollup and then into the Ankle lock again. He has it locked in tight on Undertaker and Angle drags him back into the middle of the ring. Undertaker finally powers out of the hold and just gets pissed off and chokeslams Kurt Angle. Triple H comes down to the ring and distracts 'Taker and that allows Angle to rollup 'Taker with a pull of the tights to get the 1-2-3. After that, Triple H attacks Undertaker and Hollywood Hulk Hogan comes out and puts an Ankle lock on Kurt Angle and Angle taps. Undertaker comes back in the ring and gives Hogan a boot to the face and that follows by a chokeslam. Triple H comes back in the ring and Pedigree's the Undertaker. Winner: Kurt Angle After SmackDown! ends, Hogan and Triple H take turns beating up Kurt Angle and pulls off Angle's wig/headgear and he gets a Pedigree and the Running Legdrop. Angle then gets tossed outside the ring. Hogan wears the wig again and it certainly does match his black beard well. Triple H wears a red HulkaMania bandetta and both men pose, flex to the crowd and do "I can't hear you" ears for a little while until eventually leaving. Guest cabbageboy Report post Posted June 19, 2002 Hmmmm.....UT jobbed to Angle on this show. That would indicate to me that he retains on Sunday, but maybe I'm wrong. Having Test beat Holly is somewhat silly. Now we have a Test/Lesnar semi final and that is gonna suck. Heel/heel matches NEVER go over with the crowd, I don't know why they can't figure this out. Anyway, Test is jobbing there.
Guest Brian Report post Posted June 19, 2002 Maybe Undertaker and Angle are going to win at the PPV?
Guest Report post Posted June 19, 2002 Maybe Undertaker and Angle are going to win at the PPV? I figure Hogan getting the upper hand on Angle two weeks in a row is pretty good sign of an Angle victory this Sunday. I'm still not sure about Taker, though. Had Triple H pinned him, then yes, I would definitely say Undertaker's going over, but right now I'm not sure. And were I not an agnostic, I would hope and pray to God that the Test-Brock match will be kept mercifully short at KotR.
Guest bps "The Truth" 21 Report post Posted June 19, 2002 As I said in another thread... HHH's injuries may actually be the factor here. It certainly seems set up for a Taker win. Pray with me.

Guest Report post Posted June 19, 2002 I'd have to go with Undertaker over Triple H and, god help me, Hogan over Kurt Angle.
Guest Report post Posted June 19, 2002 Hmmm, could the "New Team Canada" help Jericho or Test win KOTR? I could see Test jobbing to Brock only for Test to come out later in the night and help Storm and Christian help Jericho beat Lesnar. Yeah right, Brock destroys them all. Show sounds alright this week. Nothing great though.
Guest Report post Posted June 19, 2002 Well if I could get SD! I would only watch for the Team Canada promo by Storm. Ya know he does have a point. Jericho was once on top and now he's HHH's bitch. Test has soo many failed pushes, I lost count. Christian is going nowhere. Storm never went anywhere anyway. I hope that Jericho/Test dont win though, that way NEXT thursday on SD!, they all can come out and take a stand, forming team canada. Yeah its been done before, but hey itd be something to make you actually want to watch "the better show".
Guest cabbageboy Report post Posted June 19, 2002 Dude, Jericho has no remote shot at beating RVD much less making the finals. The Team Canada thing is an opening match angle with Storm and Christian. It's hardly something that will be a major factor at the PPV. Jericho could have made the finals had Booker advanced, but now the finals are obviously RVD/Brock. Anything else makes zero sense.
Guest Report post Posted June 19, 2002 despite many attempts of interference by Rico and Chuck, Triple H manages to pull off the victory on Billy after several clotheslines, a spinebuster and nailes the Pedigree on Billy to get the 1-2-3. On next week's Smackdown: Triple H vs. Chuck While coming down the ramp for his Intro, Billy, Chuck and Rico immediately attack HHH, but pause so he can finish doing the water thing. Billy beats him down with a chair, Chuck smacks him around with the ring steps, and Rico grabs a fan from the audience by the ankles and uses him as a club to bash HHH repeatedly. Triple H struggles to his feet and manages to fight them off. Then, the Undertaker does a run-in, running over Triple H with his bike. Chuck goes for the pin and gets one. Then the Delta Force storms the building, firing CS gas and showering Triple H with bullets, which he no-sells. Jericho joins the fray, but Triple H sneezes, which causes Jericho to go flying 20 rows back. Brock Lesnar rushes in and tosses Trips around for awhile, then Chuck comes in for the cover and gets two. Triple H bats an eyelid, and breaks Brock's arm. Kurt Angle appears in a milk truck, which he parks on Triple H. The referee comes within a hair of the three count, but Triple ZZZ gets a shoulder up. Finally, 1000 ninjas storm the building and attack Triple H, and Rico straps a large blob of C4 to Triple H. Hunter beats off most of the ninjas, but is eventually brought down by the explosives and figures he's proved himself enough of a superman to job now. Chuck gets the three count, but only because the referee didn't notice Hunter's foot on the ropes. For fuck's sake Triple H. Would it kill you to job clean just once? Guest bcu1979 Report post Posted June 20, 2002 Well, if Smackdown does nothing else it certainly muddies the waters going into KOR. It's like the WWE woke up on Tuesday morning and decided "hey, no one gives a crap about either of our top two matches so let's just put any shit on tonight." I'm starting to think Taker is going to retain at KOR after all. I don't know if that's a good thing or not since both choices suck quite frankly. This Taker/Angle stuff makes no sense considering the Taker/Hardys/Raven angle from RAW. Why tease a Taker face turn now? And if Triple H loses, it's certainly not going to be clean so, who is going to interfere? Are they going to go back to another Triple H/Angle feud? I don't understand why Test is pinning Holly clean after they tried to build him up in those two matches against Angle. A Test/Lesnar match is going to be so heatless it will be scary. The only appealing match left in the KOR tournament is Jericho/RVD and they are going to waste that as a semi-final match.
Guest Risk Report post Posted June 20, 2002 Well, this will be the second week I don't watch. No way in hell I'm watch Hunter Growth-Hormone and the Orange Goblin do a posedown after beating up the "bad guys." Ugh. Why don't any main events "faces" ever do a clean job? It makes wrestling boring.
Guest bps "The Truth" 21 Report post Posted June 20, 2002 Come on Risk...don't be silly. HHH didn't job as a main event heel either.
Guest RetroRob215 Report post Posted June 20, 2002 Kidman-Knoble is the only match I'm looking forward to. Venis-Jericho might be in the **1/2-*** reigion.

Guest Downhome Report post Posted June 20, 2002 This show officially has nothing on it that even would make me think even once about ordering the KOTR. I don't know about you guys, but I SO much prefer RAW right now. Seems like on SD it is the exact same thing every single week, just with a slight variation. What is this, the third or forth week in a row that HHH and Hogan pose down together? Like most, I'm ONLY looking forward to Kidman/Knoble. I didn't even look at the result of that match just to enjoy it that much more. The rest of the show however was predictable, uneventfull, pure WWE rubbish. Way to go Vince, that is the PERFECT type of show to have right before a PPV. Putting the two heels in there together makes so much sense.
Guest Cataclysm911 Report post Posted June 20, 2002 Well, I'll actually get to watch this Smackdown this week. I my cable company doesn't provide UPN, so I can only see it when I go to Bloomington, IN to watch it at a friends house. I'll be making the trek this week because I want to watch the Jamie Knoble match. I'm actually looking forward to it as well, not so much because I think the show will be good but because my friends is always funny when we're watching wrestling. If only all of you could have been there to hear him talk about Rhyno when he got injured. "Every move he does involves something similar to the gore. His shoulder blocks in the corner, his finisher, everything. What did you think he was going to injure, his arm?" LOL!
