Guest The Mountie Report post Posted February 15, 2002 I know this only happened like 4 years ago, but what do you people think of the casket match between HBK and The Undertaker at Royal Rumble 98? I picked up a copy of the show a few weeks ago, having not seen it since the days after the PPV and think it’s really underrated, probably because of the finish being too much like the 94 Undi’/Yokozuna casket match and the subsequent ‘death of the Undertaker’ angle. The actual match is excellent, with Michaels giving one of his last great performances (including a lovely moonsault from the top) and some amazing spots, especially the jumping tombstone piledriver from the apron into the casket. Any thoughts?
Guest Tony149 Report post Posted February 15, 2002 I thought the match was good. Kane setting the casket on fire was a cool visual, IMO. The match is best remembered for HBK hitting his back on the edge of the casket.

Guest dreamer420 Report post Posted February 16, 2002 That match was sweet. HBK almost gets crippled flying over the top rope and hitting his back on the edge of the casket.
Guest Maurizio C... Version 2 Report post Posted February 16, 2002 one of the funniest scenes of the match hapopens when undie is in the casket and hbk stands on it... all of a sudden you see an arm and it's taker grabbing hbk balls... hilarious!
Guest goodhelmet Report post Posted February 16, 2002 The casket match is solid throughout, but it pales in comparison to Hell In a Cell
Guest Army Eye Report post Posted February 16, 2002 I thought it was a very good match. I'd give it about **** too. The angle with Kane 'killing' him after was good too, nowhere near as cheesy as RR '94. I think the reason nobody talks about this match is just because it's overshadowed by the Hell in a Cell match
Guest Tony149 Report post Posted February 16, 2002 Yep, the match is overshadowed by their Hell In A Cell match. Both were very good matches. You have to wonder what the match would of been like since Owen Hart was supposed to wrestle HBK.
Guest Haku Report post Posted February 17, 2002 I never got to see the entire thing so i can't rate it. But the I really enjoyed the Undertaker/Micheals Feud. "How would u like your Undertaker...?"
Guest Kahran Ramsus Report post Posted February 19, 2002 I never really cared for the Casket Match. I always have thought of it as a letdown after the matches at Ground Zero & Badd Blood.
