Guest Redhawk Report post Posted June 19, 2002 Am I the only one who thinks the WWE might try this? They never said how The Rock would be involved at KOTR, so here's a scenario or two: 1. At the PPV, Jericho beats RVD first. Then, Brock and Test fight to a double DQ or double countout. So with no one to take him on in the finals, Jericho comes down to the ring to be crowned KOTR. But wait! Here comes The Rock, and he challenges Jericho on the spot. Jericho accepts like the dumb heel he is, and The Rock wins. 2. Brock wins the first semi, and RVD wins the next one. However, an enraged Jericho injures RVD after the match to the point where he can't continue. So just as Brock comes to the ring and Heyman goes into the acceptance speech, here comes The Rock to take RVD's place, as authorized by RVD. The Rock wins. Sounds dumb, right? Well, look at the possible SummerSlam matches we could get out of the current KOTR bracket and reconsider: 1) Taker-RVD. Very likely and it *could* work. Their matches on RAW have been really good, and the crowd totally buys that RVD is a threat to Taker. 2) Taker-Brock. Lesnar could be headed for a face turn if he turns on Heyman. But this match would *so* suck. 3) HHH-Brock. Won't work. I hope they're not that dumb. 4) HHH-Jericho has been seen and done before, and we all know who would win anyway. 5) HHH-Test. I highly doubt it, although they do seem to be stuck on Test. And this could only mean the return of Stephanie, anyway. Now, see where a Taker-Rock or a HHH-Rock match looks more appealing in the eyes of the WWE? So The Rock wins the Undisputed Title at SummerSlam, setting up The Rock versus....Steve Austin; Mega-Heel. I'm not saying that this is a good idea, I can just see it happening. Guest caboose Report post Posted June 19, 2002 If Vince pulled that shit, I'd stop watching. I'm not going to watch WM9 again with Rocky in place of Hogan.
Guest RevEvil Report post Posted June 20, 2002 If Vince pulled that shit, I'd stop watching. I'm not going to watch WM9 again with Rocky in place of Hogan. What if RVD won KOTr, then Taker beat HHH, then Rvd challenges taker on the spot and wins.
Guest bps "The Truth" 21 Report post Posted June 20, 2002 I think that Taker should retain and hold the belt till RVD takes it off of him at SummerSlam. HHH can heel up, turn heel (heh...heel up...) and maybe then I will buy him as a main eventer again. Keep pushing Angle (as I assume he'll beat Hogan), resign Jericho so they can stop jobbing him. Benoit is returning. Eddy is getting a push. Booker is a face with potential. Edge is kinda there. and Rock is always near the top when hes around. Suddenly the main event scene wouldn't look so god aweful.
Guest Cataclysm911 Report post Posted June 20, 2002 Man, it seems as if a lot of people on these boards don't bother to read other topics before starting a new one, not that I know who started it first. Nonetheless, as I stated in another thread similar to this one, it doesn't seem plausible, however with Heyman at the helm, or at least helping, anything is possible. The Rock is incredible over, so I don't see a problem with him getting the title again, then again Rob Van Dam is incredibly over, and a new face at the top, so I would rather him get a chance to shine. Guest joshicho Report post Posted June 20, 2002 I cant see the rock winning kotr. I think his role is going to be quite minimal to be honest.
