Wu-Tang fans...

Ever since it came out, I'd heard that Ghostface Killah's "Supreme Clientele" was one of, if not the best, Wu-Tang album to come out. It got 4.5 mics in The Source, an XXL in XXL, and then VIBE named it as one of the best hip-hop albums of all-time.

I've never really been a Wu-Tang fan, but the other day I saw "Supreme Clientele" in the $8 rack and figured 'What the hell?'

Now, don't get me wrong; the album is pretty good. But I would attribute that more to the beats than anything. So here's my question:

What is so good about Ghostface?

Honestly, I can't even understand what the fuck he's talking about most of the time. People say Noreaga is incoherent. Well, then, what is Ghostface? To me it sounds like he'll just spit a bunch of words that rhyme, but with no kind of story. Now I've heard songs where he was able to keep a coherent thought pattern going ("All that I got is you," "Wildflower," etc.) but for the most part he just doesn't make any damn sense. What is the deal, y'all? Explain the appeal of Ghostface.

That's what you get for listening to those glamourized peices of toilet paper. One of those magazines named Trina as one of the sexiest people. You have got ot be kidding me. If Trina was so damn sexy, how come all of the pictures that she has been in recently have been picturesof her face airbrushed onto old pictures of her body? I'll tell you why, she's getting fat. I never understood why people made a big deal about Trina, maybe it was because they read about her in a magazine or something. All of those magazines don't mean shit to me. The Source may have been around for a long time, but they can kiss my ass too. In their year end hip hop quotable, they picked one of Jay-Z's verses from H to the Izzo. I don't see how that was the quotable of the year when it wasn't even one of the quotables of the month. Furthermore, they tried to ignore the fact that the best lyrics on that album didn't even belong to Jay-Z. I think everybod who has heard that album knows who I'm talking about. They were riding Jay-Z's jock pretty hard, but they switched up and decided to give love to Nas. Stillmatic got five mics. There were songs on that albu, that I liked, but it was not a flawless album. I could go on and oln about those magazines, but the bottom line is, they just try to tell us what to think. Too bad I usually end up reading something that presents an accurate depiction of their ignorance. In one article they were talking about Ali from the St Lunatics. They said he was the brainchild behind the group. Wouldn't that mean that the group came up with him as an idea and left him behind or something? You would also have to ignore some of the stupid advertisements in those magazines. It looks ike the blind is trying to lead the blind,

I think Ghostface's solo stuff is overrated, too. The guy's constantly praised for his lyrical skills, but the only amazing thing I can say about 'em is that he can spit out gibberish really, really quickly. That said, that "Apollo Kids" track is PHAT.

Bottom line is this:

To understand gfk lyrics it is a lot easier if you have have listened to not only the wu tang clan but all the other solo albums and listened to them a lot. I have been a devout follower since 93 when enter the 36 chambers came out. I can pretty much understand most everything, but I totally realize how easy it could be for someone to not have a clue, it there is a certain lyric I can decipher I would be more than happy to help, like I said the wu-tang can be confusing unless you know their history

I'll put it like this, if any magazine says that Raekwons album wasn't the best Wu album, they got thier head's up their asses.

My hate for magazines begain with that piece of trash XXL. I understood before that they are there to make money, and will pimp for the highest bidder...thats fine, its a business. But XXL comes along and wrote the most racist, insulting article I have read in a black mag about Eminem. They were calling him talentless, said he was infiltrating the black culture like Larry Bird and Robert Dinero(I still don't know what the fuck that meant) and that he would be a thing of the past in a few months. Well, a few months go by and his album goes triple platinum. THEN they come back saying how he is a great rapper, then got pissed when he wouldn't do a interview with them. Em dissed the shiot out of them on his second album, so they try to play the victim in it all. It was so insulting to my intellegence that I was done reading that piece of crap forever. The same goes for Source and Vibe when dealing with Puffy. Love him or hate him, that got was MAJORLY hated on in these mags...until they wanted a interview in which they would praise him to no end...then turn around and start hating a month later. I basically say screw them all. The only reason I would buy the mags is if someone I like is being interviewed, otherwise, I just ignore every thing that the mags writers wrote.

Ok one Magazine I really hate its Vibe and XXL(more). XXL writers are immature and arrogant especially their editor who just straight disses both the Source and Vibe in every editorial and then do articles on washed up or haven't heard from for a while rappers (Foxy on cover this month nice to hear from you). Since Benzino owns The Source they always shilling that bullshit rapper (Benzino) group Made Men when in the hell is that album (Black Friday) coming out they been shilling that shit for almost a year. Then, his solo project came out The Source wrote that they refuse to review it since he owns them it was probably wack so that's why they refused to. The Source never give anybody a bad review the lowest rating i've seen 2 mics thats average on their scale. Jay-z and Nas 5 mics thing really killed their creditibility and they're trying to hype up sales, to me personally Jay-z might deserved the 5 mics (the album was slighty better than NaS) NaS should've got 4 or 4.5 mics. VIBE is nothing but a Fluff piece its the Black version of Rolling Stone and they are way too critical, They gave NaS a 3 Rating and the writer said that NaS was acting immature on "Ether" and other diss songs, bullshit those songs were straight to the point and true. Oh yeah, on GhostFace he can rap but sometimes his shit does go over your head if you don't know the history im used to it now. Im a Wu-Tang fan and it was hard for me to get into them at first but now I'm used to their style.
