Guest Report post Posted June 19, 2002 Promo: “Feel The Quiet River Rage” “always fighting the storm afraid to suffer the wound all praise to that conscious one who always suffers the wound, child suffers the wound, child” The music is almost deafening as the camera cuts abruptly to a small room, painted black. A solitary black candle burns low on the hardwood floor, casting eerie shadows across the walls, along the ceiling. In the opposite corner, a metal folding chair sits, facing the corner. A shadowy figure sits there, head bowed, coat draped over the chair’s back…cane resting ominously against his thigh. “always try to explain afraid to lay naked in the sun he's crazy, she dances in the light the crowd jeers, they won't put up a fight” He speaks. To us, to himself. To hear the sound of a human voice, after what was, perhaps, a long period of silence. “I think it was Gerald Locklin who said: “I live for two things. The first thing is freedom. So is the second.” I have lived my life for years by those words. The freedoms only found in the anonymity of the night, in the safety of the dark, the unmistakable sounds of silence. They weren’t enough. Freedom, by itself, is never enough to keep a person going. Even if that person is considered subhuman for a number of…for a number of reasons.” The speaker turns slightly, just enough that the crazily flickering candle illuminates his scarred face, his windblown hair…his piercing, uncovered eyes. He is Silent. He has returned. “always fighting the storm buildin' shelter to house our lack of love we're only here for a while tear it down and suffer the wound” “I live for my vengeance, now. A vengeance long denied to me, but a vengeance I will achieve. Freedom will annihilate me when my time comes, but first and foremost, now, is my revenge. It will begin meekly, slowly. One by one. An opponent at a time. Up to the top of the mountain…might you fall below me as I climb, my friend? My oldest, longest friend? It would be a fitting story in itself. You always did like your stories, didn’t you?” ”It will begin one opponent at a time. One. By one. By one. It will begin with you, Poisyn…with you, Matt Myers. With your precious little woman, with the rest of your New Sound, with the entire federation should they see fit to interfere in my affairs. It matters little to me. Matthew, there are…people…who tell me you left because you were…’depressed’. Do you KNOW what depression is, Matthew Myers? Can you comprehend despair? Can you imagine oblivion? Would you like to know what it feels like to die, Matthew Myers? What sacrifices have you made for the choices you were given? Come Sunday, you will see…they were not enough.” “You will know what it is like to be completely and totally helpless, Myers. Soon enough. As will the rest of you.” “Until that time, fear the sound of my name. Fear the word of my coming. Fear each and every move I make. For it is what you see that heralds your inevitable fate, your acquiescence to your place in my penultimate revenge.” “It is what you never see that blinds you. It is the thoughts you never think that will one day drive you mad. And the last thing you will hear as I extinguish your miserable lives… “Will be the sounds…the sounds of silence.” ”an invisible mississippi, ganges or a nile I can feel the quiet river rage forcin' my lips into a smile don't believe that the world is empty just too noisy to hear the sound I can feel the quiet river rage and I'm fallin' down saved by the river now saved” Somewhere, at this very moment, for reasons it that you would pale to hear, a small child is screaming in soul-wrenching pain. The candle suddenly blows out. We are left with the sounds of silence. END PROMO

Guest Insane Clown Dan Report post Posted June 19, 2002 Yes, that was very impressive. ...but not just quite instilling that nail-biting, goosebump-exploding fear you were expecting. No soup for you.
Guest DiabloIIFreak1010 Report post Posted June 20, 2002 Damn dude. No ring rust on you. It's going to be a helluva match, I've got a promo in the works, too. Well, back to writing my ass off.
Guest Report post Posted June 20, 2002 How does a goosebump explode? On second thought, don't answer that. It's probably one of those questions that has a disgusting, TLC-Learning-Channel-human-anatomy answer to it, isn't it? And Edwin, each member of the ML was issued a certain number of "Economy-Sized Cheesy Poof Song Lyric Promo" passes upon entry. I just haven't used all mine. As a side note, your precious pandas caused the WWF to lose valuable market share, you selfish, selfish, animal-toting Carnie. Shame. S.

Guest midnight_burn Report post Posted June 20, 2002 Hmmm. I'm sure it was a good promo, only it doesn't seem to be there anymore. The boards seem to of eaten the posts of people that have registered recently, Silent, Grimedogg and a few other people have all their posts missing. Must have happened when the boards were upgraded or whatever.
