Guest franchise632 Report post Posted June 20, 2002 I don't see this posted anywhere so I thought I would put it up here. This is a true loss to the sporting community. Now Im a young guy and I live on the west coast so I didn't hear him on a daily basis, but any time I did it was a true pleasure. Speak to any big league player or broadcaster and you will hear many stories of how great an announcer and an even better person Jack Buck was. I personally send my condolences to the Buck family and to the St Louis Cardinal ball club. The world has lost a great baseball man, but the World has lost and even better MAN. Guest Choken One Report post Posted June 20, 2002 I'm not from St. Louis or the Missouri area but I'd often passed through it and I'd often seen the admiration of Jack Buck. I've heard his radio broadcasts and remember his startling speech after 9/11. He was an every eloquet speaker and spoke his mind. Now, he is gone but in better places. I imagine he's calling games with Harry again.
Guest redbaron51 Report post Posted June 21, 2002 He was one of my favourite baseball commentators when I got a chance to see a Cardinals game. He son is pretty good at commentating too. This one is for Jack "There's a winner!"
