California Championship Wrestling on Saturday, Dec. 15th

Recommended Posts

So I forgot to post a pre-view and results for CCW on 11/17, so since the show already happen, I'm just going to go ahead and post the results.

California Championship Wrestling had another great performance on Saturday at the CCW studios where another 150 fans enjoyed a pre-Thanksgiving Week Feast featuring a fantastic card, 2 titles at stake, a #1 contendership for the Wetside title to be determined and a 15 man, over the top rope elimination Golden State Rumble!

The event started out with JJ again being interrupted by Buddy Sotello Esq, Vinnie Massaro and the BadApples getting in the ring and being soundly booed by all the fans in attendance. Buddy told the fans that because of Shane's suspension, that Adam Thornstowe will have to find yet another tag team partner for his title match against the BadApples. Furthermore Vinnie said that he had some big plans in store for the upcoming 15-Man elimination Golden State Rumble...And that he was going to pummel Luster the Legend in his upcoming title shot!

The next match was certainly unique in the way it turned out-- R Cayde and Hammerhead Drake were set to face the Kruz Brothers, Beto and Jesus-- and Jesus even started out the match by selling back to Drake his treasured championship River City football! Cayde then announced that he was tired of having to do all the hard work for his team and that he would actually help Jesus and Beto beat Drake senseless-- and so the match suddenly became a handicap tag match! As R-Cayde watched on, and even shouted advice to the Kruz Brothers, Drake fought against the odds to try to win, but it was to no avail, especially when R-Cayde helped the Kruz brothers to the victory! Afterwords, R-Cayde told Drake that he should have learned his lesson and Drake reluctantly agreed to work with R-Cayde more when they tag together--if they EVER do tag together again!

The next match featured, at least at the outset, the top 3 contenders to the CCW Westside title- former champ Virgil, his current tag team partner, El Chupacabra, and finally British Messiah Timothy Thatcher- however, before all 3 competitors could start the match, they were first interrupted by Mike Rayne with Holly, where he claimed that he was listed as a top competitor and should be allowed to make it a 4 way match-- which lead to R-Cayde ALSO coming to ringside and saying the HE was indeed qualified to be in the match as well; the end result was that the 3 way match turned into a 5 way elimination match for the #1 contendership for the CCW Westside title held by Rik Luxury!!!

The match was nothing but action as all 5 competitors hit the ring and action poured outside the mat and onto the floor, including moments where Chupacabra and Virgil were seriously at odds with each other-- After Mike Rayne was pinned by Virgil, Thatcher showed that he was a man on a mission to try to earn his first CCW title! First, Thatcher hammered Virgil with a DDT off of the middle of the top rope and pinned him, and also was able to eliminate Chupacabra with a pinning combination rollup when Chupy tried to get Thatcher from a top rope move! Thatcher almost had R-Cayde out for a submission, but R-Cayde was bailed out when Hammerhead came to ringside and distracted Thatcher! R-Cayde was able to use his wiles with this distraction to slip the Nintendo Power Glove into his trunks and pretended to be hit with it, leading to Ref Byron to disqualify the confounded Brit, making R-Cayde the new #1 contender to Rik Luxury's Westside Title at the next match on December 15th!

Next, the tag team titles were at stake when Adam Thornstowe came to the ring to take on the Badapples with their CCW titles in tow-- but who would be his mystery partner? None other than the Good Ol Mother Trucker, that's who! Adam and Otis showed suprisingly strong tag team skills as Adam took to the high flying and speed moves where Otis was doing all the big power moves on the champs! However, with Treacherous Buddy putting down his microphone and headphones to distract Adam and Ref Byron, The Badapples used their belts to whack poor Otis on the back of the head, and lead to the Mother Trucker getting pinned for the loss!

After intermission, Luster the Legend took on Vinnie Massaro for the CCW championship! Vinnie had clearly never faced an opponent of such visciousness, such brutality-- with the motivation of never having held a major championship in Nor Cal- Luster tore into Vinnie like a man possessed! Luster and Vinnie spilled outside the ring and even all the way to the outside, including the bathroom! After even winding up in the balcony and then back into the ring, Ref Guido had his hands full in keeping some semblance of order! Finally, Vinnie was able to get the upper hand on Luster and tripped him up, using the age-old grab-of-the tights after a sunset flip in order to get the cheap victory! A very disappointed Luster however would get another chance at the title in only a few minutes later...

Because after the heavyweight title match, it was time for CCW's 3rd Golden State Rumble! After Big Ugly was announced as the first competitor, Vinnie came to ringside and announced that he would offer $25,000.00 to anyone who eliminated Big Ugly so that he would not have to face Ugly then as a #1 contender to his title! With that in mind, many of the other 14 competitors targeted Big Ugly for that bounty, yet none were able to collect-- although many tried! Finally, Vinnie's second surprise came true when the mysterious man of masked mahem, Mr. Massacre, showed up as the second to last contender and eliminated all the other men in the ring other than himself and Ugly-- then a special mystery guest appeared, called the Assasin-- but looking strangely like Vinnie in a mask-- appeared and entered the contest. Mr. Massacre got out of the way and stepped over the top rope thus eliminating himself-- and then it was time for the Assasin and Big Ugly to face each other. However Ugly was already severly worn down by Massacre's awesome Massacre Slam, and being the first entry in the contest, it looked like the fan favorite Ugly might just wind up losing after all and this mysterious Assasin would become the #1 contender to the CCW Heavyweight title! Just at that moment, during a headlock thrust off the ropes, Ugly was able to unmask the Assasin to prove that it was indeed Vinnie, and the shock of losing his mask and secret identity was enough to create a distraction long enough to allow Ugly to toss Vinnie over the top rope! Ugly became once again the #1 contender to the CCW title!

Vinnie was not done-- he had one last trick up his sleeve-- he said he was going to accept Ugly as the #1 contender despite all his (and the Syndicate's) best efforts to stop him-- but Vinnie said the challenge that he would accept from him would only include that if he loses in December, he would never be able to fight in California ever again! Ugly didn't care, he accepted the challenge right off the bat-- and then called in every child in the place to come into the ring, where they cheered on the Ugly one, and also ended the evening with a rousing chant of CCW, CCW, CCW!

Here are the results of the CCW show that took place on 12/15.

Things may have been mighty cold outside last night in Newman, but the capacity crowd at the CCW Studios were thrilled to see another big card featuring Nor Cal's best wrestling talent to wind up a tremendous 2007 for CCW!

The event got started with JJ Purdom interviewing Big Ugly JD Bishop in the ring, and he boldy stated that if it were up to him, all 3 titles held by the Sotello Syndicate would change hands tonight! The fans definitely agreed with him...

The first match of the night featured the newcomer, Superstar Elloit Fox, a lithe 120lber against the most established lightweight competitor in CCW, former Westside Champ, Virgil Flynn. It was a high energy match with a lot of intense moves for both fighters, and the rookie Elliot really held his own for most of the match, including nailing Flynn with a dropkick off the top ropes! However, Flynn proved to be the better competitor with his experience and incredible flying moves including the vaunted cannonball splash! Virgil showed that he's still in the hunt for any title that CCW has by beating the spirited youngester Fox.

Match #2 featured the increasingly popular duo of Beto and Jesus Kruz, the Businessmen, who are now selling "bling" neckalces at ringside-- versus Mike Rayne and a new partner-- Bobby Hart. Rayne announced to the crowd that he has entered a new level of awareness spiritually, and that he has been disgusted by the sinning nature of CCW's roster. Declaring that he and his partner are now the "Sinner's Saints", and that they are in CCW to deliver it from sin, they both proceeded to pound on the Kruz Brothers. The Kruz's fought valiantly, but the sheer power and size of Hart combined with the new religious ferocity of Rayne helped them to get the victory, in their words, over "greed".

The 3rd match fans knew was going to be wild from the start. Showtime Shane Dynasty was facing the return of Super Otaku... But with Buddy Sotello Esq at ringside and knowing that Shane would be involved in the CCW tag team title match later on, Buddy was nothing but a thorn in the side of Shane during the entire match, taunting him from the announcer's booth and distracting Shane from the wily Anime character from the Planet Sayan. Otaku took advantage by attacking the arm of Shane and then things got even crazier when Shane brought in two chairs from the oustide and challenged Otaku to a slapping contest! Shane's battling style and years of ring savvy allowed him to gain the upper hand on Otaku and avoid Buddy's distractions to gain the win-- but afterwords, Buddy came into the ring to taunt Shane-- who with the help of Otaku (because he is still under a restraining order to not hit Buddy for the remainder of 2007!), scared Buddy into falling backwards over Otaku! Then Shane stole Buddy's glasses and had a funny game of keepaway with Otaku much to Buddy's chagrin! A humiliated Buddy went back to the announcer's booth!

The first of 3 big title matches then followed; Wrestling Personified Rik Luxury, the CCW Westside Champion, was taking on Ryan Cade. However interestingly enough R-Cayde was accompanied ringside by his on-off tag team partner, Drake Hammerhead Jones! Drake had obviously put aside his previous misgivings with Cade, and the two of them started to take advantage of Rik both inside and outside of the ring! The match featured some fabulous wrestling, counter wrestling, and amazing holds and moves by both men, including one moment where Rik was thrown cascading outside the ring into the announcer's booth and into the metal wall behind it! It was clear that Cade had the advantage, and was setting up the "rubix's cube" submission hold on Rik when Vinnie came out ringside and grabbed the Westside belt-- slamming it into Cade's head and setting Rik up for the victory-- but then Ugly came out as well, and with the ref admonishing Vinnie for his appearance, Ugly demolished Rik and put Cade on top, Ref Guido turned around, saw the pin, and counted 3 for R-Cayde to become the NEW CCW Westside Champion! Congratulations R-Cayde!

After intermission, JJ Purdom was ready to give away some free toys to the crowd, but he was interrupted by Buddy! Buddy decried the fact that JJ didn't have a business license and was not adhering to Newman city ordinances by trying to give away those toys-- but The Kruz brothers DID have a business license said Buddy, so they could SELL the toys to the kids-- to the highest bidder! Well the fans thought that was a terrible thing, and so did the Reno Scum, who scared Buddy out of the ring, took the toys, and flung them to the joyous children in the crowd!

The next match after intermission featured the British Messiah Timothy Thatcher vs Hammerhead Drake-- but Hammerhead not only came to ringside with R-Cayde, but also with a brand new valet, Cheerleader Jenna! Normally Thatcher was the one with the advantage in numbers with Lord William in his corner, but now he was the one outnumbered 3-1! Still Timothy stayed focused and aggressively attacked the arm of Drake, keeping him off his feet most of the match and disabling his strength and size advantage. Thatcher surprised Hammerhead and the rest of the "high school crew" by rolling up Drake with a reverse arm scissors-small package maneuver! After Thatcher got the win, he challenged R-Cayde to put his title on the line against him at the next show-- will Cayde accept?

The second of 3 title matches was probably one of the most intense matches of the year; The Reno Scum in their final attempt in 2007 to attain gold and vengeance against the Sotello Syndicate's Bad Apple Associates, the original and reigning CCW Tag Team Champions. The ring simply could not contain the action that all 4 competitors put together, and soon Adam, Shane, Luster and the Bad Apples were brawling inside and outside the ring! Buddy of course was slipping around as usual trying to both cause trouble and save his miserable hide! Luster set the two Apples up with his power moves and Adam hit them from above with his tremendous agility and athleticisim! Buddy and Ref Guido got into a shouting match outside the ring when Shane and Luster were teaming up on T-Rent, and Big Ugly came out and helped even the score on D-Unit....And before you knew it, The Reno Scum had their hands raised as the NEW CCW TAG TEAM CHAMPIONS! Congratulations Shane Dynasty, Adam Thornstowe and Luster the Legend!

After suffering two big defeats and losing two out of his 3 titles, Buddy was besides himself...Would Big Ugly be able to carry out his promise to get all 3 titles away from the Syndicate? CCW Heavyweight champion Vinnie definitely seemed tentative when facing his former best friend Big Ugly JD Bishop in the ring for all the marbles...The two exchanged blows, body slams and chin locks inside the ring and it was obvious that neither one of them were willing to give way. As they battled on, Ref Guido took a big shot in the corner and was knocked out. At that moment, Rik and the Bad Apples came in to try to help out Vinnie, but they were met by the Scum who proceeded to batter the ex-champs around the building and into the back! With the distraction, Vinnie took the CCW title slide into the ring by Buddy and clocked Big Ugly with it...Which lead to Vinnie getting another "cheap win" over Big Ugly-- and with it, the ability to prevent Big Ugly from EVER wrestling in California again!

However, JJ Purdom, the voice of CCW and the fan's friend, said he had enough, and the normally jovial jockey of the microphone declared he had enough. He had enough of watchin the championship being degraded by the heinous actions of Buddy and Vinnie and the rest of the Syndicate. And he announced that at WINTERBRAWL JANUARY 12th 2008, that there will be a special "Go-To-Hell" Match which will keep decide who is truly the winner and true champion of CCW once and for all. JJ didn't share all the details because he was obviously so upset, but it's for sure that he and the CCW officials will come up with a HELL of a match in order to settle this unbelieveable feud!

So remember fans to come join us next time at the CCW Studios in Newman, CA on JANUARY 12, 2008, and make sure to visit our myspace page as well as www.californiachampionshipwrestling.com for further details and join us in 2008 as we continue to SLAM OUR WAY ACROSS CALIFORNIA!
