Guest The Czech Republic Posted June 20, 2002 Report Posted June 20, 2002 What do you guys consider to be the most useless and crappiest of all the recent television shows, lets say from 1984 to now? Both WWF and WCW are in the running. I'd say that Excess and Thunder have to be the two worst shows ever. Both of these were awful, especially Excess, which was supposed to be a cutting-edge awesome in-depth magazine show as hyped by J.R. and the rest. I think all the hype it got made it seem worse, not to mention once again discontinuing the call-ins. It's amazing that crap lasted the nine or so months it was on. Thunder, as we all know, was badly executed at all times, even when WCW was popular. And it replaced my favorite low-level shows Main Event and [Pro] Wrestling with the spinning ring! What do you think?
Guest J*ingus Posted June 20, 2002 Report Posted June 20, 2002 Excess or Livewire. Nothing beats faked calls & letters from "fans". At least Thunder would have a little wrestling on it now & then.
Guest gwf0704 Posted June 20, 2002 Report Posted June 20, 2002 Dont remember the name of the show but it was on Monday Nights and Vince McMahon would be sitting behind a desk like Johnny Carson supposedly interviewing the wrestlers with Lord Alfred Hayes as the Ed McMahon idiot! What a waste of airtime and my time....
Guest The Czech Republic Posted June 20, 2002 Report Posted June 20, 2002 Well, I'm not sure which one you're talking about: Tuesday Night Titans was a variety show/talk show from the 80s on USA, but there was also Prime Time Wrestling on Monday nights from the mid 80s to '93 which was done with a desk and random commentators. If Vince wants to go all out with World Wrestling Entertainment he'll bring back Tuesday Night Titans. The APA can do Acolyte Vice!
Guest JMTapes Posted June 20, 2002 Report Posted June 20, 2002 Excess was without question the worst. Come on, a TWO HOUR recap show? Lame. Why they didn't just leave Livewire & Superstars is beyond me. I've got every episode of that show on tape, and I wish I had those hours of my life back. -JM
Guest RetroRob215 Posted June 20, 2002 Report Posted June 20, 2002 I have to say Main Event because the show was always 2 weeks behind. Let's say Hogan beat Jericho on June 1. Then Luger beat Hogan on June 8. On the June 14 edition of Main Event they would show clips of the June 1 show. I know this only started in the shows last few years of exsistence, but it annoyed the hell out of me.
Guest nWoScorpion Posted June 20, 2002 Report Posted June 20, 2002 Metal lol I dont count catch=up shows like Livewire, Superstars (in its later years), Excess or Mania.
Guest dreamer420 Posted June 20, 2002 Report Posted June 20, 2002 any show that can actually have matches I haven't seen before is ok. shows like live wire, excess, and now after burn. pretty well any show that is just recapping what i all ready watched during the week is shit. i'm still a mark for shows like wcw worldwide, saturday night, wwf jakked, heat, metal, and any other show that usually has a coupld of decent matches on it.
Guest Mark4steamboat Posted June 20, 2002 Report Posted June 20, 2002 Thunder had some awesome matches there at the end. AJ Styles's match on there was awesome as hell. The cruisers always shined on that show and that is usually why i watched it. I only liked Excess for "from the vault" and when they stopped that, i stopped watching the show. WCW SN at the end is the worse by far. It was on in the morning on saturday for about 2 weeks and when they found out that only 3 ppl cared about that show anymore, they gave it the ax. Shame because that was the premiere show during the 80s and 90s and during the last days of a show with actual matches, it had some good indy guys on there working their asses off.
