The OAO WWE DVD Thread

thanks for the heads up. I decided to just buy them used if I get them at all from amazon. Atleast then I'll pay no more than four-five bucks.

It's not a WWE DVD, but what the hell. Have any of you watched "Pro Wrestling's Ultimate Insiders Presents: Last Call"? It's hosted by Dr. Keith Lipinski, and features Raven, Sandman, Terry Funk, New Jack, and Mustafa just shootin' away. I bought it blind in the DD 20% off sale for about $6 or so.

History of the Intercontinental title is out. Yes, I got the Buddy Roberts edition. That'll be as valuable as a two page insert can get (not very). A lot of duplicate matches but I believe this is the first DVD appearance of both Savage/Steamboat and Warrior/Rude from Summerslam '89, not counting the anthologies.

Does anybody have the IC Title DVD yet? If so, can you tell me if it has the title change timeline like the WWE title DVD does?

EDIT: Went ahead and picked it up. Seems it doesn't have the timeline. I'm disappointed. :(

If they tried to put down the timeline from 1997-02, the dvd would have come with a booklet.

I really have to question the format on this DVD. Having Todd Grisham on camera while clips of the various IC champions are in a small box was dumb. Bad enough I have to listen to Grisham, I have to look at him too.

I was very pleased the Warrior/Rude match turned out to be the far superior Summerslam rematch. One funny thing I noticed is when the Nation of Domination beats up on Austin, Ron Simmons is no even landing his punches on Austin. It's not one or two...it's like 6-7 air punches. Funny.

Is there a documentary about the IC title, or is it just matches. Either way, I'm probably going to pick it up.

I don't like how the Edge DVD comes out two days before Christmas. If it came out the 16th, I could add it to my list of "DVDs I can get for Christmas and not pay for".

The Essential Starrcade comes out on January 13th.

Good God, that's a stacked DVD. You have Hogan's cage matches against the Bossman and Orndorff, you have lots of Savage (including the heel-vs-heel match against Jake and the one against Bret), you have matches that set up storylines, you have a Rockers vs Brainbusters match...you have almost everything!

That is an unbelievably awesome listing, which makes me suspect it somewhat. I can see it being clipped like the best of Raw set, which would royally suck. But if it's all full and complete (with Jesse commentary), it might be the best set they've put out that wasn't wrestler-specific.

Totally amazing dvd set. About the only glaring omission I can think of is that there is no Demolition matches. I would have loved for them to include the 2/3 falls match for the Tag Titles with the Demos and the Brainbusters. Other than that this is just about perfect. Another buy for my collection no doubt.

I could see a few matches being clipped, just because there is 30 plus match on a three disc dvd. I don't think they've released something with more than 25 matches without it being clipped. I hope it isn't though, as this is one hell of a compilation.

There's no reason SNME should be clipped as aside from Megapowers-Twin Towers nothing is above the 15 minute mark anyway.

I was just thinking that...I remember that Demolition/Brainbusters match being really good.

With the other big three now out of the way (Wrestlemania, Royal Rumble, Summerslam) does anyone think this Fall we will see a Survivor Series Anthology Set? Has anyone heard anything, the 2009 schedule should be out soon I'd think

It's cool to see an NWA/WCW based dvd, and even cooler to see a dvd with Sting front and center on the cover.

Ok, I'm pretty disappointed with the Kane dvd.

It's in a cardboard case that's not even the size of a normal dvd case.

It folds out like the other 3 disc E cardboard cases, but instead of having the hard plastic disc holders, it just has slits cut into the cardboard to slide the discs in and out of.

Guess it figures his dvd would be screwed up seeing as how his brother, Taker's Tombstone set had all 3 discs on one holder.
