Guest razazteca Posted June 20, 2002 Report Posted June 20, 2002 if rap-rock collaborations by established rappers and bands is nu-metal then I vote for nu-metal. how would the Judgement Night be labeled? this album is my favorite!!!! the best among the soundtracks that work this gimmick!!!!
Guest Nezbyte Posted June 20, 2002 Report Posted June 20, 2002 Bone grinding, glutteral, Death FUCKING metal. So, i picked metal.
Guest ant_7000 Posted June 20, 2002 Report Posted June 20, 2002 Hip Hop/Rap for me I would've picked R&B and Dance/house as well too if I could include them.
Guest redbaron51 Posted June 20, 2002 Report Posted June 20, 2002 that has gotta be the coolest emoticon i have ever seen
Guest Nevermortal Posted June 20, 2002 Report Posted June 20, 2002 Dragon Slaying, Church Burning, Biblebashing, Head Banging, Necro, Grim, Goddamn Fucking METAL!
Guest Big McLargeHuge Posted June 20, 2002 Report Posted June 20, 2002 Most Rock and Roll. With the exception of overblown music with solos that don't go anywhere, sappy ballads or lead vocals that are growled for no apparent reason. It's all good to me.
Guest dreamer420 Posted June 21, 2002 Report Posted June 21, 2002 i voted for rap because it is my true favorite but I also like techno and dance too.
Guest Kotzenjunge Posted June 21, 2002 Report Posted June 21, 2002 This is like trying to choose between having Kylie Minogue or Sophie Ellis-Bextor as my personal sex slave. I took Dance/Techno. Hey! I'm the first to do it!
Guest converge241 Posted June 21, 2002 Report Posted June 21, 2002 I had to go metal... a more fitting would be rock as i like a lot of stuff that could be under that umbrella..i like and have cds of all those styles though
Guest Human Fly Posted June 21, 2002 Report Posted June 21, 2002 I saw two people picked Classic Rock. I know someone is listening to Firehouse, REO Speedwagon, Deep Purple, or Led Zepplin right now. I picked Metal, but I listen to a lot of different things (no country, and only listen to rap when someone else is playing it.) But mostly metal. BTW, nothing wrong with Classic Rock I listen to that as well.
Guest Zack Malibu Posted June 21, 2002 Report Posted June 21, 2002 I think I'm the only one around these parts who likes old school dance and freestyle music... I really can't say that I have a favorite genre though...my collection can bounce from LL Cool J to Stabbing Westward to Sweet Sensation to Def Leppard to O-Town... (Malibu awaits the O-Town bashing)
Guest Shaved Bear Posted June 21, 2002 Report Posted June 21, 2002 O-Town...to quote the highest intellectual powers..Damn!
Guest Zack Malibu Posted June 21, 2002 Report Posted June 21, 2002 I'll clarify, before I get hate mail from people thinking I'm an NSYNC T-Shirt wearing bop boy or something. If I like the sound, or a beat to something, no matter who sings it, I usually download. Then I'll check out other songs by the artist, and if I like enough of them (about 3 or 4), I'll buy the whole CD. O-Town had a decent dance song with Liquid Dreams, but I like them mainly for All Or Nothing. While many will state that is was overplayed, the song defined last summer for me, since it pretty much described everything that happened between me and my now current g/f, before we got together.
Guest redbaron51 Posted June 21, 2002 Report Posted June 21, 2002 Emo and Alternative can be the same thing. Dunno... Um... Maybe a mod can change it
Guest PlatypusFool Posted June 21, 2002 Report Posted June 21, 2002 None... I just don't believe in the catergorisation of music. In fact, I choose 'all of the above, and then some'. I like all those ones in the poll as well as jazz, blues, gospel etc. etc. etc.
Guest Doomsault Posted June 23, 2002 Report Posted June 23, 2002 I voted for Metal but Techno has got to be an unbelievabley(spelling?) close second.
Guest Nezbyte Posted June 23, 2002 Report Posted June 23, 2002 EMO! Why isn't it listed? Because EMO is an alternative to good music? No, seriously, while i may hold that opinion, EMO is a simple off shoot of punk-rock-and ballad style rock. Hence, Alternative is a good choice, although Rock and Roll would work aswell. I wouldnt limit yourself to as small a catigore as EMO, especially since they dont sound like most'll last 3 years.
Guest Kotzenjunge Posted June 23, 2002 Report Posted June 23, 2002 Three days later, I'm still the ONLY person to vote Dance/Techno. And ZackMalibu, I am a fan of all dance and freestyle.
Guest Insanityman Posted June 23, 2002 Report Posted June 23, 2002 I went with punk. Alt. was a close second.
Guest Zack Malibu Posted June 24, 2002 Report Posted June 24, 2002 Three days later, I'm still the ONLY person to vote Dance/Techno. And ZackMalibu, I am a fan of all dance and freestyle. Yes! I am not alone!
Guest M Nyland Posted June 24, 2002 Report Posted June 24, 2002 I went with Punk but I love everything but teenybopper pop, rap, and country... my Metal, Punk, and Techno Cd collections are crazy...at least 30 for each... with about 400 CDs overall....
Guest redbaron51 Posted June 24, 2002 Report Posted June 24, 2002 The only techno/dance i like is Prodigy and Da Rude
Guest Kotzenjunge Posted June 24, 2002 Report Posted June 24, 2002 FIVE DAYS LATER... I am still the pure Dance/Techno junkie. EMBRACE THE POP~! though.
Guest swan Posted June 24, 2002 Report Posted June 24, 2002 EMO! Why isn't it listed? I hate putting music in 147 diffeerent genre's but I'll go with metal. Who the fuck started the name "emo"? This ranks up there with nu-metal and grunge with unneeded stupid ass labels.
