Kotzenjunge...quick question.

 

Since you're pretty much the only one who likes it, who do you like from the dance/freestyle genre? Any particular faves, or do you go mainly by how much you like a certain song (as I sometimes do).

Hrm. Weeeeeeell, I don't know exactly what freestyle is, but because you had it grouped with dance I figured I had heard it before and liked it. As for dance groups/people, whoever's playing is who I like at that moment.

Freestyle is basically an evolution of Latin dance/pop. It was quite big in the 80's-early 90's, crossing over into the mainstream with artists like Stevie B., Lil' Suzy, The Cover Girls, Collage, and more. Some songs you may know that wound up being big dance hits/top 40 hits are "Spring Love", "Show Me", "I'll Be Loving You" and "Take Me In Your Arms".

 

It's pretty much faded from popularity, but you'll still here stations playing the older songs during their "retro lunches" and "dance marathons" at night.

How exactly is "pop" a genre?

well... you have those kids who like whatever is pop(ular) at the moment. I'm sure we all know kids who liked Nirvana when they were the big thing... and now they are into N Sync and Ja Rule.

These are the same kids who used to have red hair and dress like bums... now they're preps... (kids I have known throughout life anyways)

I voted for "rap" but I don't think I actually have a favorite genre. I have such respect for anyone who makes music or performs music, I'll listen to nearly anything. I mean, I have songs that I don't like, but I'll never say that someone or something sucks because saying something like that as if it's a fact ain't right because it's not fact. It's just an opinion.

 

But if I must choose, i'd say that I listen to hip-hop, alternative, and some pop the most...and a little jazz.
