"As detailed this week in the Torch Newsletter (which subscribers began receiving Wednesday this week) and as first reported last week on the Torch 900 Hotline, the Torch has learned that the top three matches for WrestleMania are slated to be as follows:

-Chris Jericho vs. Triple H for the WWF Hvt. Title

-The Rock vs. Hulk Hogan

-Steve Austin vs. Scott Hall

There is also talk of a match involving Kevin Nash and Undertaker, although since both are heels, that may be switched around. There is also talk of Nash & X-Pac vs. Undertaker & Kane, or other tag combinations."

Hulk Hogan vs. the Rock? To determine who's the shittier actor?

Stone Cold vs. Scott Hall. Hall tries to steal Austin's beer.

jericho vs. Trips- That's what everyone is expecting.

Too me, that's a pretty cool card. The wrestling will suck, but the crowd heat should be amazing.

IMO

It should be Rock vs. Hall...they match up pretty well

And it HAS to be Austin vs. Hogan

What does the NWO gain if Hogan beats Rock?  EVERYONE beats Rock

Now if they beat Austin...then they've done something.

Yeah, as it stands, I wouldn't dish out $40 bucks for these "draws". I better get an Angle-Storm match out of this or Booker-RVD if I have to sit through Rock-Hogan.

SCSA/Hogan would be better. I guess they want Hall to cost SCSA the match with Jericho. Just let Hogan do it. WM will probably do big business.

To put an entirely different spin on this......

HHH v. Jericho is great with me......make it the main event even.

As far as the rest.....

Rock v. Austin v. Hogan: HUGE money draw, no matter how you look at it. The 3 have been the 3 biggest draws ever in WWF history. Plus a three way would not expose Hogan's ring-rust as much. Make it elimination style, Austin and Rock both eliminate Hogan (much like Awesome and Tanaka did this to Tazz in ECW) so Hogan keeps his heat, and then Rock pins Austin to get redemption from last year. Hogan then attacks both again at the end to keep their feud going after WrestleMania, well at least either Rock-Hogan or Austin-Hogan.

Hall & Nash v. XPac and HBK: Battle of the former Kliq members. Have both guys return within the next few weeks here, reforming DX with HHH. If this has to be a one time shot for Michaels, so be it. Have Hall and Nash take him out big time sometime during the match, leaving Xpac alone to lose. Another idea would be to have the Dudleys take on Hall and Nash as well.

With these being the rumored matches at WrestleMania...I'm really starting to hate the WWF.

HHH IS THE MOST OVERRATED PIECE OF SHIT SINCE.......................HULK HOGAN.

Now I get both to hold new talent down...

Isn't that wonderful.

I think HBK & X-Pac are bound to be nWo members. Maybe have them re-debut at WM costing the WWF guys the match with the nWo.

I like that card.  Hall/Austin, Hogan/Rock both appeal to me so now we just need to let Nash fight either Angle or the Undertaker and Wrestlemania won't be too bad IMO.

Angle/Storm? Who does that help? If Kurt wins, he beats a jobber. If Kurt loses, he loses to a jobber.

Same with RVD/Booker. It can only hurt RVD

Conspiracy theorists will tell you that he is holding down everyone.

I'll just say RVD.

If you want proof....just search through other threads.

I don't feel like getting into it again.

Ithelps me as a wrestling fan to determine whether I want to spend my money on the WWF's product. If I see good matchups on the undercard, it would help me come to grips with Hogan being in the main event scene.

So you would like two promising wrestlers to get fucked over just so you can see a good match?

I remember most of you points, I just wanted to see if there was anyone else. If RVD had been put in a feud with Jericho (which wasn't in the plans) and if he had main evented Royal Rumble, would that have helped Jericho or RVD out at all. Eventually, like with the rest of the pathetic IC division RVD is a part of, he would have gotten less and less TV time. The WWF doesn't give a damn about the mid-card, and anyone who's stuck down there is going to get less and less time. He's damn lucky he's even in a feud because Vince seems to practically be pulling a powerplay with Heyman.

No, I would like two promising wrestlers deliver a four star match which could either help elevate Storm or reinforce Angle's superiority. Whatevr works.

With RVD-Booker, how does that hurt RVD if he wins. Booker losing is no big shock. If Booker wins it still doesn't hurt RVD since both have had their fair share of losses to the "main eventers". RVD wrestling Goldust or Regal hurts the Whole F'n Show. I think Booker and RVD would tear down the house.

With the NWO coming in, you better start hoping for a strong midcard to develop cos the Main Event scene will be off limits.

I see what you are saying but I do think that a Jericho/RVD match at Rumble would have helped out both guys.

Jericho already beat Rock....so at Rumble he beats him again.

At No Way Out:  Jericho will beat Austin...who he's already beaten...

Then he'll lose it at Mania.

I beleive that depushing RVD at HHH's return push actually hurt HHH alot.

The fans have a guy they want to cheer for...and then suddenly he's not going anywhere...and they are told to cheer for HHH.

I'm sure that the marks haven't even thought about one having to do with the other...but they know that before HHH, RVD was super hot...

And after HHH....RVD disappeared, and HHH gets pushed down our throats.

Bad Move.

The WWF feels they need to do the second round of jobs to cement Jericho. And I'm still not sure he's losing at WrestleManai, because putting the title on a face when there's a big heel faction moving in that pre-occupies enough big names doesn't make sense.

For Angle/Storm, the fans see Storm as a jobber. Are they supposed to say "Oh my gosh, Angle beat Storm!" And if Storm wins, it could kill Kurt.

Yes, I copied and pasted the same thing and just changed the names.

wow, i'd really *love* to see that undertaker/nash match.  the prospect of watching those 2 lazy stiffs going at it for 15-20 mins has actually cast doubts over my willingness to order mania.  and if all those matches do take place, there had better be a *damn* good undercard.  and hhh needs to get the title before fueding with the nwo, as it is the focus of the company jericho wants to destroy.  also, if the title is not involved, it totally devalues the title, as both the top 3 main eventers and the 3 nwo guys are not willing to fued for it.

You're right, Jericho losing doesn't make sense. Neither does RVD curtain jerking. Neither does the Chuck-Billy push. Neither does signing a few dinosaurs, disrupting the lockerroom, and decreasing match quality for a couple of ratings pops. Neither does flushing the whole Invasion angle down the tubes. Keeping Micheal Cole employed doesn't make sense.

Alot of what the WWF does makes NO sense!

"...and hhh needs to get the title before fueding with the nwo, as it is the focus of the company jericho wants to destroy."

Jericho isn't part of the NWO.

They all make lots of sense.

"Neither does RVD curtain jerking."

Wellcome to the mid-card. They toned down his push, and this is what he fell back on. A horrible looking IC title division. It's not like they have Benoit, Jericho, or Angle.

"Neither does the Chuck-Billy push."

Their hosses, and their self-bent on getting Gunn over.

"Neither does signing a few dinosaurs, disrupting the lockerroom, and decreasing match quality for a couple of ratings pops."

Exactly that. Their looking to capitalize on ratings pops.

"Neither does flushing the whole Invasion angle down the tubes."

When it's handled that poorly, they should flush it down. Way down.

"Keeping Micheal Cole employed doesn't make sense."

Cole does some awesome videos, and they think he's the man to replace JR.

I will pay 40$ for Hogan vs. The Rock. It's the match I most want to see out of all the dream matches that haven't happened.
