Guest Just call me Dan Report post Posted June 20, 2002 Ever watched a match and one little transition move or spot just looked damn good, and you remember it? It wasn't necessarily a planned spot, or a trademark move, just something one does and it connects better than it probably should have, and it is sold well? Almost like an adlib transition move that ended up paying off big time. One that comes to mind for me was in an Undertaker match right after he cut his hair. He always does elbows to the head in the corner where he jumps into it. He does them so much now, he has a trademark way kind of like Sting had with the splash. Anyway it was against someone and they were on the outside. His opponent ran at him, and Taker jumped and did the same flying elbow, it connected right on time, right in the face and Taker didn't trip. The guy sold it very well, and it was just a move that could have gone unnoticed for being botched. That wasn't planned. If he'd have jumped too early, he would have just hit his feet and swung an elbow. Too late, it would have been just like a shoulder block. That just looked sweet. Another was during the Alliance/WWF feud. RVD and Jericho were in a tag match. RVD got a hot tag and Jericho happened to be running right at him. RVD hits a textbook spin kick that clocks Jericho in the face. In one of the coolest sold moves I've ever seen, Jericho goes flying in the air with his hands covering his face as if it were excruciating pain. He hit the mat hard and the crowd gasped when it was hit. All those elements combined made for another not really important to the match but sweet as hell move in my book. Know what I mean? What are other little things in matches by wrestlers that you still remember, but were probably nothing special to most others?
Guest dreamer420 Report post Posted June 20, 2002 does anyone else ever markout for the way billy gunn slides into the ring? i love when he's running down the ramp at full speed, hit the ring, and then almost slides out of the other side of the ring. Guest saturnmark4life Report post Posted June 20, 2002 The 3 man 3D on big show, and when big show got the hot tag in that run of matches with 'little guys'. They were standard big show fare, but every so often he does something fun. but then i'm the closest thing to a big show mark ya get. There were some very nice spots in the Saturn/Eddy/Dean 3 way at JD2K as well, with the filthy crowd dead for all of em. On that same show, too cool/rikishi versus ECK scotty tries the worm to the usual insane reaction, and Angle just skips in and LEVELS him with a clothesline, then leaping in the air almost with tears in his eyes due to his olympian accomplishment. The heat for that ONE move was awesome, and i was having a laughing fit.
Guest Just call me Dan Report post Posted June 20, 2002 Speaking of sliding in the ring, Lance Storm's entry where he slides across thre apron on one knee owns.

Guest Flyboy Report post Posted June 21, 2002 I agree with both the posts before mine... I also think RVD's twirl/spin he does when he gets in the ring, but that could be because I'm a RVD mark. Lance's springboard dropkick, and other such things... too many to name, really.
Guest J*ingus Report post Posted June 21, 2002 I was watching a NWA Wildside match where one guy was out on the apron, and the other one shook the ropes to "bring him in the hard way", and the guy on the outside just let go of the ropes while the other one stood there for a second, shaking them furiously in a Warrior-like manner. It was great.

That was always something interesting.

Guest PlatypusFool Report post Posted June 21, 2002 One particular transitional sequence at the first Dreamslam card in the match between Devil Masami and Chigusa Nagayo stands out for me. Devil had Chigusa in some form of headlock using her legs on the mat. Chigusa managed to struggle upwards and managed to almost escape, but Devil just lifts her about two inches off the ground and performs this tiny, little piledriver on the mat. The whole thing was done so smoothly that if you blinked you might have missed it, but it really worked so well to show that Chigusa had the power to escape, but was thwarted by Devil's matwork. A brilliant little sequence that I've never seen repeated.
Guest Trivia247 Report post Posted June 21, 2002 Summerslam 98.. Kaiental vs the Oddities The Oriental KDX style sneak past the WWF standards and Practicing hitting those Quadruple Team moves and Doing the KDX poses on Kurrigan..The four man Top rope headbuttsn Splashes, the Four man running elbowdrops, Droptoe hold with Bulldog. Little things like that was cool to watch. Its a shame the WWF never took Kaientai as a group more seriously than their usual Anti Japanese Comical Jobber practices. Now only Funaki remains sniff. Guest PlatypusFool Report post Posted June 21, 2002 Oh god yes, the wonderous coolness of the KDX team spots. THE SPECIAL POSE~!
Guest Sandman9000 Report post Posted June 22, 2002 The latest one I was impressed with was Lesnar's overhead belly-to-belly suplex on Buh Buh on the outside. It looked like he launched the poor bastard, even more impressive when you remember that Buh Buh is over 300 lbs. Also, the No Way Out before WM14, where Austin grabbed a trash can, while standing on the apron, and overhead launched it at Billy Gunn in the ring, who sold it like death. I just thought the whole "laser can" was hilarious.
