Guest gwf0704 Posted June 21, 2002 Report Posted June 21, 2002 Thats why I rated him a 9 as I rated his body of work. He was always a top performer in World Class Championship Wrestling where he feuded with the Von Erichs, Bugsy McGraw and Kamala. He even received some title shots at both Ric Flair and Harley Race which were entertaining. In the Mid South he was a top heel as well wrestling Junkyard Dog and Magnum TA as well as in Florida where he fought Dusty Rhodes, Barry Windham and Mike Rotondo. I always thought he was extremely underrated as a heel and performer and I always marked out when he would shoot that green mist from his mouth! Sorry but I expect this to be my last Kabuki rant ever!!!!!

Guest CED Ordonez Posted June 22, 2002 Report Posted June 22, 2002 I'll say Genichiro Tenryu just because he hasn't been mentioned yet and he's a 50-something year old that puts Hogan's workrate to shame.
Guest Dangerous A Posted June 22, 2002 Report Posted June 22, 2002 Juniors Jushin Lyger Minoru Tanaka Great Sasuke Gedo (2001) Tiger Mask (the original) Koji Kanemoto Ultimo Dragon Shinjiro Otani Heavyweights Jumbo Tsuruta Antonio Inoki Genichiro Tenryu and my personal favorites The 3 musketeers (Shinya Hashimoto, Keiji Muto, Masahiro Chono) and the 4 Lords of Heaven (Mitsuharu Misawa, Kenta Kobashi, Toshiaki Kawada, and Akira Taue)
Guest Jubuki Posted June 22, 2002 Report Posted June 22, 2002 Oriental? Rugs are oriental - people are not.
Guest Tod deKindes Posted June 22, 2002 Report Posted June 22, 2002 I'll say Genichiro Tenryu just because he hasn't been mentioned yet and he's a 50-something year old that puts Hogan's workrate to shame. Right. He and his devastating array of chops...chops...couple of kicks...more chops...some chops and did I mention chops? You gotta be kidding me.
Guest PlatypusFool Posted June 22, 2002 Report Posted June 22, 2002 "Oriental? Rugs are oriental - people are not." That's actually technically untrue Jubuki. I was looking in the dictionary the other day and the word 'oriental' means 'of eastern origin'. This can be eastern of the world or eastern of an individual country. It goes on to say that all people living east of the mediterranean (sp?) ocean are considered oriental.
Guest Sandman9000 Posted June 23, 2002 Report Posted June 23, 2002 Tomoaki Honma (my avatar) and Ryuji Yamakawa. I'm a blood mark and deathmatch fan, sue me.

I can sometimes hate the bookerman, but you can't argue with his matches
Guest BigTim2002 Posted June 25, 2002 Report Posted June 25, 2002 Right now, your best Asian wrestler is Kawada. Of all time, it HAS to be Jumbo, because he just ruled SO much...it's not even funny. Honorable mention goes to Mutoh, Lyger, Misawa, Sasuke, Inoki, and CHONO~! I also have a special place in my heart for Gran Hamada, who is like 55 or 56 and is STILL kicking ass. He gets my "Old dude who could beat the shit out of half the main eventers in the US" award.
Guest Nezbyte Posted June 30, 2002 Report Posted June 30, 2002 Tomoaki Honma (my avatar) and Ryuji Yamakawa. I'm a blood mark and deathmatch fan, sue me. What about Jun Kasai, W*NG Kenemoura, and Shadow WX?
Guest Dmann2000 Posted June 30, 2002 Report Posted June 30, 2002 So I'm assuming just cause the guy was born and wrestled exclusively in North America you guys have eliminated Ricky Steamboat from contention. The title just said best Asian/Oriental wrestler, not Asian/Oriental PURO wrestler.
