Conspiracy_Victim 0 Report post Posted April 4, 2008 If the Rockets manage to finish in or near the top half of the West (not out of the realm of possibility), how about Adelman? Star center out for almost half the year, two rookies manning the 4, and a "superstar" who shoots barely over 40% from the field and seemingly can't hit a FT to save his life. Brett Favre 0 Report post Posted April 5, 2008 My vote would go to Rick Adelman. T-Mac has been so so this year, and Sloan as Deron Williams AND Carlos Boozer, while Scott has arguably the MVP on his team.
alfdogg 0 Report post Posted April 5, 2008 I'd throw Stan Van Gundy into the conversation, as well. I've never been a big fan of a team having both the coach of the year and the MVP. So...what is the reason why that team is so good, exactly?
alfdogg 0 Report post Posted April 5, 2008 Why is Devean George still in the league.
Brett Favre 0 Report post Posted April 5, 2008 Did you see the last two shots he took? He thinks he's Karl Malone.
Guest Report post Posted April 5, 2008 He's obviously trying to help out his former team! I wouldn't say it if I didn't halfway mean it. Vetoing the Kidd trade and decisions like that, well...
alfdogg 0 Report post Posted April 5, 2008 Dallas, as usual, making me look like a fucking genius.
Coffin Surfer 0 Report post Posted April 5, 2008 I love the ingenius plan of using slow Dampier or a crippled Dirk to trap Kobe while Gasol and Odom are left open under the basket not once or twice but all night. These close losses aren't because of meltdowns it is because the other team makes adjustments while Avery motivates...
Precious Roy 0 Report post Posted April 6, 2008 I'd throw Stan Van Gundy into the conversation, as well. I've never been a big fan ofeam having both the coach of the year and the MVP. So...what is the reason why that team is so good, exactly? Dwight Howard paired with two great "big" shooters. Big meaning they're tall enough and long enough to get their shots off even without all the attention Howard draws. Howard is pretty much unstoppable one on one, it's just a deadly combination. Not that Van Gundy isn't a really good coach, but he's certainly got an MVP candidate on his team and 3 guys having all-star caliber seasons.
alfdogg 0 Report post Posted April 6, 2008 That second statement was made in general, it wasn't directed at just Orlando. Or at all against Orlando, for that matter. I should have worded it better, I guess. But yeah, I said a few weeks ago that if you're going to tout LeBron James as a major MVP candidate, then Howard has to merit some discussion, as well. A lot of people talk about what a great season Turkoglu is having, but I think Howard has a lot to do with that. He established himself as an major offensive weapon early in the season, which I don't think anyone saw coming this early in his career, and I think when teams started preparing for him defensively, that made things easier for Turkoglu.
