Guest Ace309 Report post Posted June 21, 2002 Despite not finding it in the Big Big Book of Wrestling Moves, which is the end-all and be-all of online wrestling information, I believe that the Tiger Bomb is a term for a specific maneuver. In fact, I believe it is another name for a Rikishi Driver, which is identical to a Fire Thunder Driver in every way, shape and form. - Tom, wondering if anyone else is as amused by this as he is. Guest PlatypusFool Report post Posted June 21, 2002 WRONG! The Tiger bomb does not and will never exist. Joey Styles simply named the sit down powerbomb this in his commentary because, for some reason, he didn't want to call it the Lygerbomb, it's real name. The Rikishi Driver was a sit down side driver type move, and it also known as the Emerald Frosion in Japan. The Fire Thunder Driver I've never heard of, so it may be another name for one of those two moves, or you could be mixing it up with the Thunder Fire Powerbomb (razors edge done much harsher). And no, no-one finds this as amusing as you, at the end of the day they are just move names and if people know what you are talking about you can use any name to denote any move. It's just easier if you get the fuckers right.
Guest Coffin Surfer Report post Posted June 21, 2002 The Tiger Bomb doesn't exist. Though it is mostly used to describe the butterfly powerbomb or butterfly powerbomb pin(not a tigerdriver because it isn't sit out.) A Thunderfire Driver differs from a Riskishi Driver in that a Thunderfire Driver is a sitout belly to belly cradeled piledriver. Misawa's Emerald Frosion is not really the same as the Riskishi Driver. Misawa locks his arm around the victims neck, and falls to the side(doesn't sit out) driving the back of the victim's neck into the mat. A Thunderfire Bomb is not the same as the Razor's Edge. It's what the Great Sasuke and Mike Awesome uses. Its where the victim is lifted on to one of the attacker's shoulders. The attacker susposed to drop to their knees and drive the victims upperback into the mat like a folding powerbomb. But most of the time guys like Awesome just toss them in the air. I may be wrong but I'am sure Dace knows for sure.
Guest Ace309 Report post Posted June 22, 2002 ... well, clearly that didn't go over the way I thought it would. All I did was pick a few things that Dace, in his infinite patience, has explained many, many, many times and included them together in a post as a rib. I figured the smiley and the reference to being amused would clear it up for anyone who didn't get it. I happen to think he's very knowledgable and read all his posts, so I've seen him express his disgust with the BBBOWM and describe the Rikishi Driver ("Stalling, posing, safe inverted piledriver") several times. In any event. :: slinks away :: EDIT: Cleared up grammar and whatnot. Wow, I did bad the first time I posted this.
Guest Dace59 Report post Posted June 22, 2002 Well, being in a different time zone (the UK) I've missed all this. Sorrta takes all the fun out of it all. Coffin Surfer is right, apart from calling it a Butterfly Bomb, as Butterfly is a WCW misscall for a double underhook. I hate the Big Book because it's full of mistakes. Like mixing up an Avalanche Brainbuster and a Cross Arm Brainbuster. I call the Rikishi Driver a Stalling, posing, safe inverted piledriver, because: He lifts them up then stalls. He spreads his arms out into a pouse, so it;s pousing. It's safe as the opp. is high over his shoulder and their head will never touch the mat (and their is the portection of Rikisihi's thighs) It's much like Bam Bam's Greatings From Asbury Park AKA Fire Thunder where he craldes the opp high up and sits to one side slightly.
