Guest Austin3164life Posted June 22, 2002 Report Posted June 22, 2002 The ones I can think of right off the top of my head, despite this year being pretty bad, are as follows: [iN NO RANKING] -Kurt Angle vs. Edge (Backlash) -The Rock vs. Chris Jericho (Royal Rumble) -Steve Austin vs. Ric Flair (June 3, Raw?) -Regal/Guerrero vs. Spike?/RVD (May Raw) -Eddie Guerrero vs. RVD (Ladder Match, Raw) I can't really think of any other good and enjoyable matches.....
Guest dreamer420 Posted June 22, 2002 Report Posted June 22, 2002 here are my choices: rvd vs. eddy guerrero (raw, ladder match) ric flair vs. steve austin (raw, no punches) ric flair vs. undertaker (wrestlemania x8) kurt angle vs. edge (judgement day) that is about it. flair is all ready listed on two of my MOTYC
Guest bps "The Truth" 21 Posted June 22, 2002 Report Posted June 22, 2002 do you mean Angle vs. Edge from Backlash dreamer? cause IMO that match was great...while JD match was just...meh. anyway: Rock vs. Jericho (Royal Rumble) Angle vs. Edge (Backlash) RVD vs. Eddy (Judgment Day) RVD vs. Eddy (Raw, Ladder Match)
Guest dreamer420 Posted June 22, 2002 Report Posted June 22, 2002 i liked the match from judgement day better. they've had three matches that I was considering listing but I chose the one I thought was best.
Guest AlwaysPissedOff Posted June 22, 2002 Report Posted June 22, 2002 Rock/Jericho at the Royal Rumble RVD/Guerrero, Ladder Match on RAW Edge/Angle at Backlash Out of those three, I'd pick Rock/Jericho.
Guest alfdogg Posted June 22, 2002 Report Posted June 22, 2002 RVD/Eddy, ladder match 5/27 RAW RVD/Eddy, Judgment Day Austin/Angle, 1/28 RAW Angle/Edge, Backlash Rock/Jericho, Royal Rumble In no particular order.
Guest JaKyL25 Posted June 22, 2002 Report Posted June 22, 2002 1) Angle vs. Edge, Backlash 2) Rock vs. Jericho, Royal Rumble 3) Eddy vs. RVD, Judgment Day 4) Austin vs. Angle, 1/28 Raw 5) Eddy vs. RVD, Ladder Match, 5/27 Raw 6) Angle vs. Edge, Judgment Day 7) Flair vs. Taker, WrestleMania XVIII 8) Royal Rumble, Royal Rumble 9) Jericho vs. HHH, Hell in a Cell, Judgment Day 10) Flair vs. McMahon, Royal Rumble Rumble is the PPV of the year thus far, with JD a close second. Everything else is pretty worthless.
Guest nWoScorpion Posted June 26, 2002 Report Posted June 26, 2002 Hogan/Rock (much like Andre/Hogan from 87, not good but hot match ith a good way to build) Flair/Austin from Raw 3 weeks ago RVD/Eddie 4 weeks ago Jericho/HHH from judgement day Edge/Angle from both PPVs and the cage match RVD/Jericho from.....wait, was that early this year or late lst year? when RVD won by DQ in a title match.
Guest bob_barron Posted June 26, 2002 Report Posted June 26, 2002 1. Angle v. Edge from JD 2. RVD v. Eddy Ladder 3.Angle v. Edge Backlash 4.RVD v. Eddy JD 5.Rock v. Y2J 6.Taker v. Flair 7.RVD v. Eddy Backlash 8.Kidman v. Tajiri Velocity 9.Y2J v. Triple H JD 10.Y2J v. Triple H Wrestlemania
Guest RepoMan Posted June 27, 2002 Report Posted June 27, 2002 The only two real countenders I can see so far this year would be the NWA X title match from tonights PPV and RVD Eddy from Raw.
Guest razazteca Posted June 27, 2002 Report Posted June 27, 2002 NWA TNA X Title match June 26 2002 Psicosis (Nicho) vs Low-Ki vs AJ Styles vs Jerry Lynn - this double elimation should be considered as one of the best PPV main event matches of the year.
Guest bps "The Truth" 21 Posted June 27, 2002 Report Posted June 27, 2002 You can go ahead and add the NWA X title match to my list. DAMN. I don't know where it ranks so far this year...but DAMN.
Guest Dillon Likes Bossman Posted June 27, 2002 Report Posted June 27, 2002 I'd say the NWA: TNA X title match is the best match of 2002. But than agian I am a huge Low-Ki mark.
Guest Just call me Dan Posted June 27, 2002 Report Posted June 27, 2002 I'd be willing to bet that Hollywood Hogan vs The Rock Wrestlemania X8 will be one of the front-runners. The match itself was nothing special but DEFINETLY one of Hogan's best ever and the crowd was insane, as was I. Great mark-outmoment and is defiently the most awe-striking match I've seen this year.
Guest dreamer420 Posted June 27, 2002 Report Posted June 27, 2002 while the hogan/rock match from wrestlemania wasn't anything special as far as technical wrestling goes it was still one of the most amazing matches ever. the way that the crowd turned on the rock and hogan was suddenly the top face in the skydome was unbelievable to see.
Guest Austin3164life Posted June 27, 2002 Report Posted June 27, 2002 I was at Wrestlemania X8 in Toronto with my friends, and all of us are Austin fans, but during the Rock/Hogan match, it was amazing the energy level in the arena. I wasn't cheering either men, but I felt so much energy from all of the people around me......
Guest dreamer420 Posted June 27, 2002 Report Posted June 27, 2002 and that's exactly what i'm talking about AustinHHH4life. it moments like that that can make a match into a classic. i would assume it was probably about the same atmosphere as when andre and hogan were standing face to face in the middle of the ring at wrestlemania 3
Guest Singular Posted June 27, 2002 Report Posted June 27, 2002 I havn't seen the NWA X-Title match, but it sounds awesome. So far I would say the best match this year has been Lo Ki vs. American Dragon vs. Chris Daniels three way from the Ring of Honor show.
