Guest Dangerous A Report post Posted June 22, 2002 This wednesday is the NBA draft. Who do you see having an impact their first year? Who do you think is going to bust?
Guest alfdogg Report post Posted June 22, 2002 Those freakishly tall centers usually bomb it bigtime. (See Muresan, George) The Rockets will probably still take Ming, though. Other than him and Jason Williams, I don't know a damn thing about college basketball. BTW, thanks for the reminder. I completely forgot about the draft. Guest NaturalBornThriller4:20 Report post Posted June 22, 2002 Anyone-know-what-happen-to-Juan-Dixon? Wasnt-he-suppose-to-be-in-the-Draft?
Guest franchise632 Report post Posted June 22, 2002 Juan isn't likely to be taken in the first round, however NJ Nets have taken a liking to him recently. Also someone who left early, Stanford's Casey Jacobson is also likely not going to be a first round pick. Impact draftees Jay Williams - Duke. Likely to be taken #2 overall by the Chicago Bulls will have an imediate impact in the NBA. Another addition to the very young Bulls. Mike Dunleavy Jr. - Duke. Likely to go third to Golden State. Has NBA skills and was born to be a ball player. Caron Butler - UConn. After watching him late in the season he was pretty impressive. Likely to be the 6th pick to the Cavs, he and Andre Miller would be a great young tandem. Other possible impact players Freddy Jones U of Oregon, not alot people got to see him play, Im from Oregon and saw a lot of him, he is athletic and can finish strong. Dejuan Wagner will be good altough may not have immediate impact Amare Stoudemire, A High School kid from Florida, could go as high as 12 or as low as 21. Athletic big men are alwasy something that team are looking for. You never know with High Schoolers.
Guest Vern Gagne Report post Posted June 22, 2002 Drew Gooden-might need to add more muscle but he should be a great rebounder and scorer. Someone like Denver could use him. Anyone know about the foreign players in the draft?
Guest NaturalBornThriller4:20 Report post Posted June 22, 2002 Dejuan-Wagner:Quite-a-talented-player,but-because-he-left-Memphis as-a-freshman,it's-gonna-take-him-some-time.
Guest AlwaysPissedOff Report post Posted June 22, 2002 The Bulls need some frontcourt help, not another guard because they seem to have enough of those... Oh, and Tyson Chandler needs to put on more weight. Being that skinny and being in the NBA is a DEFINITE NO-NO.
Guest The Fett Report post Posted June 22, 2002 Wagner, Butler, Dunleavy and Jay Williams are all NBA ready players that should make an impact next season. Nick Tskiti and Yao Ming both have a ton of potential, but they probably will take a season or 2 to get adjusted to the NBA. Tskitishvili is supposed to be another Dirk/Gasol. Ming seems like a mixture of Jabbar and Rik Smits.
Guest bravesfan Report post Posted June 22, 2002 Couple foreign players making an impact: Italy's Nikoloz Tskitishvili (had to copy and paste his last name from ESPN.com) is projected to be taken in the Top 5. He is 6'10 and a small forward...no joke! "The next Dirk Nowtizki"... Nene Hilario, from Brazil, also projected to go Top 10. 6'9" at PF, supposedly going to the Knicks at #8, but I think they're going for a banger- Wilcox, maybe. And from the same club team as Nikoloz, Bostjan Nakbar., with another unpronouncable name from Slovenia going in the first round...both forwards. And of course you know about Ming. Well, in the 2000 Olympics, he did foul out in under 5 minutes guarding Mourning, so....that's not good for his chances.
Guest ant_7000 Report post Posted June 24, 2002 Jay Williams: is going to make a impact for the Bulls not matter if he can run the point or not like I said before. Caron Butler: THIS is the Paul Pierce of the Draft he'll be a steal if he doesn't go top 5 and could contribute right away. Mike Dunleavy: I don't like if Golden State is going to take him because they have a frontcourt already. Dajaun Wagner: Could be better than AI or a bigger version of him, I think he's ready after leading his team to NIT championship in his Freshman year, yeah I know its the NIT but he was impressive. Jared Jefferies: Most definitely came up during the NCAA Tournament My Sleeper picks thou: Dan Dickau, Tayshaun Prince, Frank Williams, Qyntel Woods, and all the top European players that I didn't mention because im too lazy type their names.
