Guest Sandman9000 Report post Posted June 22, 2002 Pioneer Home Video will be releasing two new ECW DVDs on September 10th. The two titles are ECW WrestlePalooza '97 and ECW Cyberslam '99. Both DVDs are available for pre-order on Amazon.com. Thanks to 1wrestling.com (via 411wrestling.com) This marks the eleventh and twelveth ECW videos that Pioneer are releasing. Four comp. videos (Extreme Evolution, Path of Destruction, Deep Impact, Hardcore History), 2 special one-character videos (Best of Cactus Jack and Best of Dudley Boys), and now six PPV/Special Event videos (Barely Legal, Heatwave '98, Anarchy Rulez '99, Guilty As Charged '01, and now WrestlePalooza '97 and Cyberslam '99) Which brings up the question, how many of these do you own, and are you interested in getting these new videos? Guest ShooterJay Report post Posted June 22, 2002 What was the card for Cyberslam '99, anybody know?
Guest dr deaf Report post Posted June 22, 2002 I've got three of the comps, saw the other and they all rock. I have the best of cactus jack and that really shines. They just jammed tons and tons of stuff into that one. The best of the dudley's was dissapointing compared to it. Also, I picked up Anarchy Rulez '99 and that just kicks ass from top to bottom. Guest razazteca Report post Posted June 22, 2002 I own all of them except Guilty as Charged 01 was CyberSlam the one where Brian Pillman made the Smart Mark interview?
Guest converge241 Report post Posted June 22, 2002 no that Cyberslam would have been too late for his ECW stay and i think he was dead by that point too now that I think of it.. he died in october of 97 right?
Guest razazteca Report post Posted June 22, 2002 well I guess your right, so are there any extas besides the matches? any cool promos?
Guest Anorak Report post Posted June 22, 2002 The famous Pillman interview might be Cyberslam 96, i've got it somewhere. I'm currently collecting as much ECW DVD'S as I can possibly afford, the most recent ones I got were Big Ass Extreme Bash 96 and Barely Legal 97. I've seen some stuff avaliable that i'm not overly bothered about getting for the sake of but on the whole most ECW is just so enjoyable to watch that I never really get bored with it. I've ordered Path of Destruction (unavaliable in UK shops) and a 13 hour Foley comp so I won't have to wait long to see some more ECW. There's an ever growing amount of ECW DVD's being released in the UK, most wrestling sections comprise about 60% WWF and 40% ECW material.
Guest franchise632 Report post Posted June 23, 2002 I have all but the most recent DVD that came out earlier this year, i will be getting those and the new shows when they come out in September. As for the card of Cyberslam 99 here is what was on the show: 1. Jerry Lynn vs Yoshihiro Tajiri great match 2. Nova & Chris Chetti vs Rod Price & Skull Von Crush 3. Lance Storm-Tommy Dreamer altercation Dreamer dumps piss on Lance Storm 4. Super Crazy vs Mosco de la Merced 5. Rob Van Dam vs Too Cold Scorpio 6. Taka Michinoku vs Papi Chulo 7. Taz vs Chris Candido 8. Shane Douglas vs Justin Credible Double Blood Bath!!!! 9. Dudleys & Mr. Mustafa vs Balls Mahoney, Axl Rotten, & New Jack (Extreme Steel Cage Match) Thumbtacks + Fire + Barbed Wire are used in those blood bath, New Jack Dives from the top of the cage!!!!!!!!!. And for those of you interested in seeing the Brian Pillman incident you will find it on the Path Of Destruction DVD by following the below steps. On Pioneer's release of the wrestling title 'ECW: Path Of Destruction' you can find a hidden feature that is extremely interesting for hard-core wrestling fans! From the disc's main menu, go to the 'Special Features,' and there, go past promos and biographies and highlight the 'Main Menu' entry. Now press the 'Left' arrow key on your remote control, which will take you to a 12 minute promo featurette about Brian Pillman when he was appearing in the ECW for the first time after leaving the WCW. The featurette contains the entire profanity-laced tirade he vented off through, a fight with a plant in the audience, Shane Douglas yelling at Brian Pillman, his ejection from the building, practically everything that made his entry so memorable. You can also access this promo featurette by directly accessing Title 8 on your DVD player
Guest Anorak Report post Posted June 23, 2002 I checked and its on my copy of Cyberslam 96 as well, the front cover actually features Pillman.
Guest franchise632 Report post Posted June 23, 2002 Well Im assuming that you are in the UK, and unfortunatly all the DVDs that are getting released over there are not available here in the States. I wish there were because I have heard there are some great shows available.
Guest Anorak Report post Posted June 23, 2002 There's loads of different shows to get over here, a decent chunk of whatever a tape site would have. I order some stuff that isn't out off the net but there's loads still to get from shops. WCW vids have been non-existant for years though, there's about twenty times more ECW stuff avaliable than there ever was with WCW. There must be a good demand for ECW in the UK considering how they rush to release more and more shows all the time.
Guest Incandenza Report post Posted June 24, 2002 I didn't start checking out ECW until after its death. I have three of their DVDs: Path of Destruction (rocks), Barely Legal (it's okay) and Deep Impact (sucks). ECW has done its share of good stuff, but based on what I've seen, I don't think I would've been much a fan of it when it was alive.

Guest BigTim2002 Report post Posted June 24, 2002 I thought Michinoku busted the MD2 at Barely Legal... But I have all the comps, and I really don't think any of them are TOO bad. The last one rocks bells, and Path to Destruction is hella cool too, with the 43:00 four way match, with the first fall ending at 29:00~! Wow... Barely Legal was good SIMPLY because it was Terry winning it and becuase MPro rocks the body that rocks the par-ty...
Guest Sandman9000 Report post Posted June 24, 2002 I saw a clip of Taka vs. Papi, and the way that he did the MD was, he hooked Papi up like a reverse suplex, lifted him straight into the air, then dropped down into the MD.
Guest razazteca Report post Posted June 24, 2002 its not fair that UK gets more ECW DVDs than USA
Guest BigTim2002 Report post Posted June 25, 2002 Sandman, let me ILLITERATE IF YOU WEEEEL....I MARK FOR DUSTY'S ANNOUCING~! The Michinoku Driver I is the version you just described. Where it's almost like the Slop Drop, except he's picked up and spiked on his head. The Michinoku Driver II is the version that he uses most often. That is the basic scoop into a sit-out piledriver. Note: Joey Styles erraneously said that the brainbuster that TAKA used at Barely Legal is commonly known as a "Michinoku Driver." That isn't the case. Guest Smeghead Report post Posted June 27, 2002 I have Anarchy Rulz 1999 and Guilty As Charged 2001 coming in the mail, and I own all of the others. I like them all so far, but some are better than others. If you want the best comp, get Path of Destruction. If you want the best PPV, get Heatwave 98. And get the Cactus Jack and Dudley Boyz vids as well.
