I know who I'd like to have with my next pick and in a 12 team draft I probably could have gotten him. I don't see it happening in a 20 team, but you never know. After it was assumed (incorrectly) that Bored would take a certain Niner, I decided to take the only quarterback in 1985 to stop the Chicago Bears. Oh plus he had a couple of NFL records out of his career. My intention was to go with a quarterback, reasoning that running backs are a dime a dozen and I could pick up a good one pretty much anytime I wanted. THE ONE THE ONLY QB BRETT FAVRE The only 3x NFL MVP 9x Pro Bowler Holds the NFL All Time Record in: Passing TD's (442) Passing Yards (61,655) Passes Completed (5,377) Pass Attempts (8,758) Interceptions (288) Has started more games than anyone else at his position, by a long margin (253) despite also being the most sacked QB of all-time (439), never missing a game from 1992-2008 1x Super Bowl Champion, and played in another one Winningest QB of all-time His playoff record post-Holmgren is dubious, but his credentials speak for themselves. A reigned in Favre, especially at his peak, was a monster, as any Chicago Bear fan could tell you, what with how many 5 touchdown pass games he destroyed them with throughout his career. He was the kind of player that could win you a game as much as he could lose you one (as evidenced by last year's NFC Championship game). However, anyone could tell you his bad interception habit came as a result of 1. Putting too much pressure on him and him alone to win the game because the rest of the team failed him, and then forcing a bad pass, 2. His style of play, which resulted in jaw-dropping plays as well as head-shaking ones, and 3. Who was coaching at the time. His FIRE AND THE PASSION is unquestionable, and he was a reliable 30+TD guy throughout his entire career, and easily hovered around the 40TD mark in his prime. Here's a guy, who, if the Packers had just done the right thing and kept Holmgren and drafted a little smarter through Favre's career, could have won way more games, but did the most he can with the least possible. The Packers' playoff run in 2001 was easily his alone as they had NOTHING then since Levens was being phased out and Green was just coming into his own, and he could've been a 4x MVP if it wasn't for Tom Brady's amazing season in 2008. This guy is reliable, tough, smart, and by far a leader- and he makes everyone around him much better which is one of the core things you're going to look for in a quarterback. I wasn't going to let him pass me up, even if this might've been a reach. Realistically though, he probably wouldn't have/shouldn't have lasted past the second round anyways. I wanted to pick up a QB with my first pick, so why not pick a guy who has won 3 SB's with marginal offensive talent, especially at the skill positions? Mr. Brady is a proven winner and I know anyone I draft here on offense will be better than at least his first two SB teams.
