Guest humanoid92 Report post Posted June 22, 2002 From reading a lot of the posts here in the music folder, it seems a lot of you guys are into a lot of heavy metal and whatnot, but I figured I'd throw out some more mainstream bands and ask everyone what their favorite song by each band is. Also feel free to include your opinions on the band in general. These aren't necessarily my favorite bands, just ones that have consistently gotten a ton of airplay on mainstream radio the past few years. I'm curious as to everyone's opinions. Anyway... Weezer: Tough call, as I really love those first two albums. Call it a push between "My Name Is Jonas," "Susanne," "Tired of Sex," "El Scorcho," and "Across the Sea." Can't slim it any further than that. <-- Weezer ninja Red Hot Chili Peppers: "Under the Bridge." Yeah, it's the biggest hit, but it's the biggest hit for a reason. Incubus: Well, all I know are the singles, and the only one I kinda like is "Pardon Me." Goo Goo Dolls: Again, all I know are the singles. The only I can tolerate is "Broadway," and I think that's because I've only heard it...twice? Blink 182: "Dammit." Classic and decent. Creed: Never met one I liked. I suppose "My Own Prison," for all its Pearl Jam aping, is the most acceptable. Matchbox Twenty: "Bent"...at least until the chorus. I really like the verse work in that one, but eh...still, it's not awful. Third Eye Blind: "Burning Man." These guys actually do pop well. Dave Matthews Band: "#41." Creed - Shit, I just heard it the other day it goes "Six feet from the edge/And I'm thinkin'/Maybe six feet ain't so far down". I don't remember what it's called. Matchbox Twenty - Uhh can I pick "Smooth"? Please? Third Eye Blind - The one where he says something like "Heart in a blender/watch it spin into oblivion" . Maybe it's called "Graduate"?
