Guest Flyboy Posted June 23, 2002 Report Posted June 23, 2002 You make a good point flyboy- Has anyone ever kicked out of the last ride or ***** Frog Splash? Jerry Lynn reversed the pin after a 5 star into a small package.. does that count? If we're talking about the same match... no. This was after Cyrus came in, got knocked down.. RVD goes for a BEAUTIFUL ***** (maybe it was just the camera angle), Lynn rolls out the way, does a sloppy roll up (which the fans chant "YOU FUCKED UP!" for), and RVD still kicks out. I have that match on my CPU. I think we're talking about RVD hitting it, and not missing. Selling the impact... goes for the cover... 1... 2... KICKOUT~! Like that. Has that been done?
Guest RavishingRickRudo Posted June 23, 2002 Report Posted June 23, 2002 I still think that Eddie commanded that match. All they said was that RVD threw in a couple of suggestions for spots. Assumingly, his own (ie: Rolling thunder, moonsault, split leg, all on the ladder). That would have just been a complete spotfest. Eddie brought the continuity, he linked them all together.
Guest Flyboy Posted June 23, 2002 Report Posted June 23, 2002 I'm sure Triple H will kick out of the Last Ride. Well, HHH stayed down for the Last Ride at WMX7... but this is a different HHH we're dealing with.
Guest bob_barron Posted June 23, 2002 Report Posted June 23, 2002 Mick Foley at RR00 and WMXVI. Stone Cold at No Way Out. That's all I can think of for kicking out of the Pedigree.
Guest Flyboy Posted June 23, 2002 Report Posted June 23, 2002 I think The Rock has done it a couple of times... not sure. It's too late.
Guest bob_barron Posted June 23, 2002 Report Posted June 23, 2002 At Backlash Rock kicked out but it was cause ref was out and it took Patterson-n-Brisco a long time to run in and count the pinfall.
Guest pinnacleofallthingsmanly Posted June 23, 2002 Report Posted June 23, 2002 I like D'Lo Brown's frog splash better than either of the other ones. I saw one that RVD did that impressed me, but that was in ECW. He got insane elevation on it, but it doesn't look like he's doing it in the WWF. Maybe it's the bigger rings or something. I didn't see the ladder match between Eddie and RVD, but I would like to have seen it. You know what would really suck? If Lesnar won the tournament and Triple H won the belt. That would make a piss poor Main Event for Summerslam.

Guest masked marvel Posted June 23, 2002 Report Posted June 23, 2002 Didn't Kane kick outta the ***** frog splash at the Survivor Series ultimate elimination match for everything, then inexplicably get pinned a little afterward by a RVD flying kick?
Guest Nezbyte Posted June 23, 2002 Report Posted June 23, 2002 I still think that Eddie commanded that match. All they said was that RVD threw in a couple of suggestions for spots. I'd have to disagree, Rob in this situation was the veteran. It wouldnt surprise me if the whole match was planned down to a T ... minus, of coarse, the fuck ups. Eddy made it sound like Rob was "in control," or so it seemed to the 2 other people i watched confidential with...
Guest Flyboy Posted June 23, 2002 Report Posted June 23, 2002 Didn't Kane kick outta the ***** frog splash at the Survivor Series ultimate elimination match for everything, then inexplicably get pinned a little afterward by a RVD flying kick? I don't think so... I think he was pinned by it. Not sure... memory is hazy.
Guest Mattdotcom Posted June 23, 2002 Report Posted June 23, 2002 Kane was pinned by a top rope spinning heel kick, but I don't know if he'd been frog splashed. As for someone kicking out, I'm sure someone like Sabu has, I mean ECW was the land of Kicking Out of Finishers, wasn't it?
Guest cabbageboy Posted June 23, 2002 Report Posted June 23, 2002 Yeah it was weird....Kane did kick out of the 5 star. And then RVD beat him right after it, so I was like "WTF?" Most of the time they roll away and he misses. You don't see many people kick out of it.
Guest ShooterJay Posted June 23, 2002 Report Posted June 23, 2002 Bam Bam Bigelow kicked out of the Five-Star in the match where RVD won the ECW TV title, but that was before Rob really established it as a finisher I think. Rock kicked out of the Pedigree at KOTR '00, but that was a fucked up spot, as UT was supposed to pull Rock out but forgot.
Guest The Superstar Posted June 23, 2002 Report Posted June 23, 2002 I really liked Confidential this week, and it was sick seeing DDP's career end. I winced everytime they showed it. Now I want to pick up the Positively Page book. It was also sick seeing Leno, Malone, and Rodman, but for a different reason.
Guest Prince Paul Posted June 23, 2002 Report Posted June 23, 2002 "Kane's a HOSS! He can kick out of anything, by gawd that Big Red Machine!" I like Eddy's splash better simply because it looks better when he does it, IMHO. But RVD's selling of the splash rules too! If anyone kicks out of the pedigree, it's usually due to a ref bump or something.
Guest Your Olympic Hero1 Posted June 23, 2002 Report Posted June 23, 2002 Mick Foley at RR00 and WMXVI. Stone Cold at No Way Out. That's all I can think of for kicking out of the Pedigree. You forgot Ultimate Warrior at Wrestlemania XII I think Rikishi might have kicked out of it during his match with HHH on Smackdown in late 1999 (when Finkel drew his name out of the cage)
Guest Prince Paul Posted June 23, 2002 Report Posted June 23, 2002 You forgot Ultimate Warrior at Wrestlemania XII Oh yeah. Hunter was made out to be a total jobber in that match. I guess he learned from the best!
Guest godthedog Posted June 23, 2002 Report Posted June 23, 2002 eddy has the better splash, but i think rvd sells the impact of it very well (sorry to get off topic) who is on confidential tonight? regal and eddy? has anything interesting or controversial been said? his selling of his own offensive move bothers me a lot, just like benoit's does. if it hurts you so much, WHY DO IT? wouldn't his character have rib problems later in his career?
Guest RavishingRickRudo Posted June 23, 2002 Report Posted June 23, 2002 You could just watch the match and see eddie controlling it. Hell, even the ending where he went to the top and got pushed off...that was Eddie. Eddie was the glue in that match.
Guest Smeghead Posted June 24, 2002 Report Posted June 24, 2002 I don't think anyone in WWE has ever kicked out of the *****. It happened in ECW on more than one occasion. Bam Bam and Jerry Lynn did it. Probably a few others. But kicking out of finishers in ECW wasn't very uncommon.
