PROMO: Balance Of Power

Recommended Posts

In front of an SWF banner

"Hi fans, I'm here doing an exclusive interview for SWF.net with the challengers to the World Tag Titles, TKO, along with Chris Card," Ben Hardy greets viewers.

"Thank you Ben," Card snorts, adjusting his cuffs while TORU takes a swig of awamori, a potent Japanese spirit he's carrying in a bottle, "leave it to you to state the obvious as usual."

"Chris," Ben says, opting to talk to the person who speaks his language, "later tonight your associates here will be trying to win the SWF Tag Titles for the second time; can I get an honest assessment of their chances?"

"Ben, if the SWF wanted the benefit of my analytical skills and my encyclopedic knowledge of the ins-and-outs of wrestling tactics and psychology, they should offer me a job as a commentator," Card sniffs, "and on a decent wage at that. I'm certainly not going to waste my knowledge on what is basically an attempt from management to build a little more hype and sell the last few tickets that haven't gone yet. Toxxic, you're a friend," he says to the camera, "but not that much of one. So in conclusion Ben," he continues, turning back to the interviewer, "TKO will win. I don't need to explain why and how. Just accept the truth when it's spoken to you."

"Speaking of friends, how does it feel to be managing a team against the Maori Badass Va'aiga tonight, a man whom you have had a professional relationship with in the past?" Ben asks. Card's eyes narrow as he regards the interviewer.

"Va'aiga and I have a great deal of respect for each other," he informs Hardy, "and it's true that I've invited him to my training dojo in the past to help illustrate the finer points of power wrestling, if that's not an oxymoron, to some of my larger students. However, we're both professionals and we both realise that in some arenas there can be no friendship. So Va'aiga," Technical Perfection says, "please don't take it the wrong way when I say that I hope the best team wins tonight. Because the best team is TKO."

"VDN-uh, you listen now-uh, and you listen good-uh, OK!?" KOJI blurts out, breaking into the picture to Hardy's evident surprise. "We are TKO! We are best tag team in Japan-uh! We are best tag team in You Ess Ayy!We are best tag team in..." he pauses, momentarily confused, and turns to consult with TORU in Japanese for a second before turningback to the camera, "...JAMAICA! Tonight-uh, you will lose! We become tag champions for second time-uh! We are TKO, and we control Global Pro Wrestling-uh! Tonight-uh, you will feel SPIIIIIIIIIIIKEUH!" He flips both middle fingers at the camera as TORU leans forward and grabs the microhone,

"I AM TORU!"

TORU glowers into the camera while KOJI takes out a spray can and starts to cover the 'SWF' logo with a 'TKO' one of his own devising. Meanwhile Card directs the microphone back towards himself and attracts Ben Hardy's attention.

"Ben, I advise everyone who thinks they may one day be something in the tag team ranks to pay close attention tonight," the Englishman says, "because the balance of power is about to change." And with that TKO and Chris Card walk out of shot.
