Guest IDrinkRatsMilk Posted June 24, 2002 Report Posted June 24, 2002 Yes, the Simpsons needs to go before they piss on their legacy even more then they already have. As for which character should get axed, I'd say Agnes Skinner, but, as has been said, without her Principal Skinner isn't Principal Skinner anymore. Maybe... Helen Lovejoy then.
Guest RavishingRickRudo Posted June 24, 2002 Report Posted June 24, 2002 Lisa, up till homer became evil, was the worst character on the show. She is the perfect foil for each character on the simpsons, but she always seems to ruin things. I have never seen a good lisa-based eps.
Guest Kotzenjunge Posted June 24, 2002 Report Posted June 24, 2002 Without Helen Lovejoy, who do we have to shriek: "Won't somebody PLEEEASE think of the children??"
Guest El Satanico Posted June 24, 2002 Report Posted June 24, 2002 This would be a much better question if you asked which major character would you want to leave if one had to go. Asking it about the entire cast gets too many lame responses about characters that are barely used and get small amounts of screen time. Asking about the major or important characters won't get lame responses about meaningless characters. Then since most of the characters that people would reply with are important you'd get better "debates" going. I mean when someone says they don't like a major character and they should leave there is always someone that will say they are nuts. When someone says characters like Rod & Todd or Snake there isn't much to debate because they aren't important at all. All the characters play a important role so i don't want any to disappear. However if one HAD to leave i'd pick Marge. She's not that important and the show could get some new material based on Homer being divorced or a widow so it wouldn't affect the show that much.
Guest IDrinkRatsMilk Posted June 24, 2002 Report Posted June 24, 2002 If one of the immediate Simpson family had to go, I guess the most logical choice is Marge... but they've already done a divorce storyline and a widower storyline. You can't get rid of Homer, he's the most popular character overall, and I don't think they'd do a storyline where kids die, so unless they sent them to boarding school or something the most important characters (in terms of screen time and storylines based on them) left are Grandpa, Krusty, Apu or maybe Chief Wiggum. Of those four I'd pick Apu I guess. I'd think they'd want to keep the family intact for the eventual movie as well.
Guest Shaved Bear Posted June 24, 2002 Report Posted June 24, 2002 get rid of Sanjay, Apu's assistant Keep: Chief Wiggum/Moe
Guest RavishingRickRudo Posted June 24, 2002 Report Posted June 24, 2002 They have done everything with Homer. From smokin weed to going to space to beating up George Bush. I would celebrate his death.
Guest Bosstones Fan Posted June 24, 2002 Report Posted June 24, 2002 They have done everything with Homer. From smokin weed to going to space to beating up George Bush. I would celebrate his death. Me too. There is absolutely nothing that Homer can add to the show now. And if getting rid of Homer will cause problems (i.e. there's no more stories, since Homer's the only character that the show focuses on now), then just cancel the whole thing. The show is soooooooo played out, and hasn't been funny since 1998.
Guest HBK16 Posted June 25, 2002 Report Posted June 25, 2002 Without Helen Lovejoy, who do we have to shriek: "Won't somebody PLEEEASE think of the children??" Easy, Moe.
Guest MarvinisaLunatic Posted June 25, 2002 Report Posted June 25, 2002 Im glad no one has at the least insinuated getting rid of the Comic Book Guy would be a good idea. While were at it, Maude Flanders is supposed to come back for the Halloween episode this year, although I think its just for the one show.. Oh, and uh..I'd get rid of Moe.
Guest CED Ordonez Posted June 25, 2002 Report Posted June 25, 2002 As long as nobody touches Bumblebee Man and Comic Book Guy, I'll be OK. For main characters, you could get rid of Maggie and I would hardly notice. The character is impossible to evolve and having her grow up even a little now would be shark jumping material. The Simpsons, as hard as it is for me to say, is running on fumes and good TV shares nowadays. It still has its moments but you know it's on its last legs.
Guest Perfect Plex Posted June 25, 2002 Report Posted June 25, 2002 Homer. The mans act wore thin 4 years ago. A Simpsons fan who is Anti-Homer? That's like a Smart Mark calling Chris Benoit a "no-talent faggot hack".
Guest Vern Gagne Posted June 25, 2002 Report Posted June 25, 2002 Kill of the entire town. Have a meltdown and kill this once funny show for good.
Guest El Psycho Diablo Posted June 25, 2002 Report Posted June 25, 2002 ..never..ever..get rid of Snake. He's the best character on there. Well, to me. -Shiro
Guest dreamer420 Posted June 26, 2002 Report Posted June 26, 2002 it would be interesting to see how they would write grandpa simpson dying. hopefully not like the maude flanders episode
Guest RavishingRickRudo Posted June 26, 2002 Report Posted June 26, 2002 Hey, Homer seasons 3-7 is one of the greatest characters in the history of Television. The Homer you see today is just a poor-mans Bender. DIE! DIE! DIE! Sorry... I get worked up.
Guest dreamer420 Posted June 27, 2002 Report Posted June 27, 2002 i agree with you. homer was the tv character of all tv characters for a brief period of about 3 or 4 tv years. i think that now the writers just tries to hard to come up with funny things for him.
Guest papacita Posted June 29, 2002 Report Posted June 29, 2002 The Simpsons was my favorite show for a long time, but I've gotta agree with people who say it may be time to cancel. I don't watch too many of the new episodes, but just about every one of them I've watched lately has been kinda out there compared to some of the older episodes. Still funny, but nowhere near as funny as it was in the olden days. As for which character could go...I never liked Ms. Hoover, Doris the Lunch Lady or Prof. Frink. Nelson and Snake are a couple of my favs, so I say keep them, but the rest of them can be gone.
Guest lomasmoney Posted July 1, 2002 Report Posted July 1, 2002 They should episode that would kill two birds with one stone. You have snake assaassinate the mayor, then you have a shootout in the Quickie mart (or whatever it's called) and you have Cheif Wiggum kill Snake with a shot to the head.
Guest Choken One Posted July 1, 2002 Report Posted July 1, 2002 One problem there...It goes against Cheif Wiggum's character. He NEVER does the job right...he is a bumbling idiot...It would require something stupd in the name of Comedy...like Snake drowning in Slushie. Just Kill The Mayor, so you can have your Homer runs for Mayor episode (If they havn't yet...they done every possible plot).
Guest papacita Posted July 2, 2002 Report Posted July 2, 2002 Or Maggie could kill the mayor. She's turning into quite the little serial killer. R. Kelly beware!
Guest Youth N Asia Posted July 2, 2002 Report Posted July 2, 2002 I think anyone outside of the family is fair game...let's face it, the show is on its last legs...and they spend too much time with new NON reoccuring (unfunny) characters and hardly use the old ones anymore anyway.
Guest lomasmoney Posted July 7, 2002 Report Posted July 7, 2002 About my Snake Assaination thing. Cheif Wiggum could shoot a bullet and miss but it ricochet's off a wall in goes through Snake's chest. That would be more comical. Hell, I hardly even watch that show any more.
Guest What? Posted July 7, 2002 Report Posted July 7, 2002 Kill Smithers, have him profess his love to Mr. Burns then die, then hve Mr. Burns just point to a random guy in the crowd to be his new Executive Vice President....or Assistant.
Guest KanadianKrusty Posted July 7, 2002 Report Posted July 7, 2002 oh crap, wrestling fans are even over-analyzing the simpsons now... don't cancel the simpsons, just cancel wrestling and everyone will be normal again!
Guest LesnarLunatic Posted July 8, 2002 Report Posted July 8, 2002 Kill Burns, Homer, Wiggum, Martin, Grandpa and the twins, Sherri and Terri.
