Guest Doomsault Posted June 24, 2002 Report Posted June 24, 2002 What are your favorite game characters of any game, ever? Good, bad it doesn't matter. Some games I find hard to play just because of a lackluster character, for instance, Duke Nukem. Yeah he's kind of funny when he fondles strippers and talks trash to pigs in uniform but I never could get over how cliche'd he is. Anyway my favorite game characters are Squall from Final Fantasy 8, Sephiroth from Final Fantasy 7, and Snake from of course, from Metal Gear Solid. I'm looking forward to getting a PS2 because you get to play as someone named Raiden or something in MGS2: SOL.

Of all time, I'd say Kefka, from Final Fantasy VI, which coincidentally is my favorite and the best video game of all time. Runners up (in no order) include Sephiroth (FFVII), Auron (FFX), Dante (Devil May Cry). Rikku gets an honorable mention for being so damn hot.

In the intruction book to the original game, the referred to her as a 'he' throughout. The only time you could see she was a chick is after you beat the game, and even then it was hard to tell. I don't remember what she looked like exactly, besides having green hair.

As for favorite characters, I don't have a lot new to add: definitely Auron of FFX, he's probably the coolest one ever. Solid Snake of MGS, a character of surprising depth.

(made even more eerie by the fact that chirs is an anagram of my name) Let me piggyback on the things you have already mentioned: Squall is the biggest bitch in any game ever. EVER. Period. Kefka is God. Always has been, always will be. FF6 is the best game of all time, barely edging out FF7. And for the record, I'd fuck Rikku right in her pixeled ass.

Guest JaKyL25 Posted June 27, 2002 Report Posted June 27, 2002 I have and always will have a blind allegiance to Locke, the "Treasure Hunter" from Final Fantasy VI, but Kefka OWNZ YOU too. Kahran's post got me thinking, though. Damn if Jowy Atreides/Blight isn't one of the GREATEST characters ever, definitely most underappreciated. Now I wanna play Suikoden II again, which is NEVER a bad thing. As far as Ramsus goes, he's one of the best characters in Xenogears, that goes without saying. But, IMO, Krelian and Graph are a LITTLE cooler. Now I wanna play Xenogears again, which is usually not a bad thing, but my friend from college borrowed it for the summer! Fuck! All you RPG fans out there, PLAY XENOGEARS!!!!!!! Play Suikoden II as well, but not before playing the original. PLAY THE WHOLE DAMN SERIES! One more shout-out: PLAY LUNAR!!!!

I hate to ruin it for you, but in my opinion, Raiden was a whiny bitch. As for my favorite Character, I'd have to go for the nameless soul in Shadowrun. Mainly b/c you basically became the character.

My parents agreed because they thought we were naming him after Edgar Allen Poe, heh, and so they said his full name was Edgar Allen Pug. Gag. Anyway, add Edgar to my runners-up list, he was always my favorite FF6 hero. He has nothing on Kefka though.

He was a big softy inside, and just pretended he didn't need anybody. Not to mention he was whiny and he had four animations. Walk, Run, Hand-on-face, and AIR-CHOP~! Air chop covered angry, sad, upset, confused, etc. They went WAAAY too far with Squall, and he went over the emotional waterfall to the sharp jagged rocks below. We didn't get a badass, we got an emotionally confused child, who doesn't learn anything til the very very end.
