O.J. Simpson found guilty of all charges in Nevada

Recommended Posts

LAS VEGAS -- O.J. Simpson has been found guilty on all charges in the alleged gunpoint robbery of two sports memorabilia dealers in a Las Vegas casino hotel room more than a year ago.

The 61-year-old former football star faces a prison sentence of five years to life.

A weary and somber Simpson released a heavy sigh as the charges were read in rapid fire by the clerk in Clark County District Court. He was immediately taken into custody.

The verdict comes 13 years to the day after Simpson was acquitted of killing his ex-wife, Nicole Brown Simpson, and her friend, Ronald Goldman, in Los Angeles.

Co-defendant Clarence "C.J." Stewart also was found guilty on all charges and taken into custody.

Simpson and co-defendant Clarence "C.J." Stewart were tried on 12 criminal charges.

The jury of nine women and three men deliberated more than 13 hours.

What a shame. All he was doing was searching for the real killers. He was CERTAIN they were hiding in that casino. Now, look what happens to the Juice, simply just because he was trying to avenge his wife's brutal death.

Sad, so sad.

I'm not the biggest fan of George Bush's 8 years in office, but he can completely redeem himself in my book if as his last move in office he grants OJ a full pardon. What does he have to lose at this point?

OJ has to be one of the dumbest people alive. Dude literally gets away with murder, then gets in trouble with the law multiple times, tries his own reality show, writes a book called "If I Did It", and commits armed robbery. He needs to be locked up just for being so stupid.

Given that he barely (if it at all) paid them anything, and moved to Florida so they couldn't take his stuff, he got away with it.

I always thought the civil suit was such BS

Im guessing if he goes away for life, they can get his stuff?

Otherwise, they wont ever get a dime off him.

Yeah, fuck the Goldmans for getting some monetary justice against the guy who killed their son. Greedy bastards!

I'm against a bullshit double jeopardy in the justice system. I don't see how you can be found liable for something that you were acquitted on.

I just like that OJ got away with it, and in every interview he did managed to almost admit he did it. His interview he did with Katie Couric in 2004 where he imitated Fred Goldman was hilarious.

The criminal justice system and civil justice system are entirely different animals though. Even though OJ was acquitted for double murder, that doesn't mean he couldn't be sued for wrongful death for money. This is not a case of double jeopary, because OJ was not charged with the same crime. He was held liable for Nicole and Ron's death. Suing OJ in civil court is not a "bullshit double jeopary" as you put it.

As for being happy he got away with is quite sad. Two people died for no reason, you know.

You're right, but I just think it's wrong that a guy can be acquited of a crme and then be found liable for it. It just doesn't seem right, and I think it's a flaw of our legal system.

So was a jury acquitting an obviously guilty man because of his color. It took a while, but O.J.'s karma finally came back to smack him in the face.

That and the DAs did an awful job of trying the case
