Guest Goodear Report post Posted June 24, 2002 I'm looking through the threads today, seeing how Brock shouldn't have been crowned King and getting Undisputed Title Shots and how RVD should be getting a push. But in that din, something seems to have slipped through the cracks. Namely, why in the heck is Eddy Guerrero doing jobs for Ric Flair at this stage in their careers? Flair has the same upside as the other 50+ plus wrestler on the roster and it's way past the time where he should be beating midcard talent that need to get themselves over, like Guerrero. I mean honestly, what good does this actually do WWE? The Eddy-Benoit alliance was something that was supposed to be dangerous, but now, they can't even beat an old man like Flair. And what good does this do Flair? They can't be considering him for a concerted push... can they? It just doesn't seem smart to me.
Guest dreamer420 Report post Posted June 24, 2002 i think flair beat him just so they could keep that feud alive and going, thanks to the outside interference. at vengeance do you think we will see bubba dudley/ric flair vs. eddie guererro/chris benoit? i'm betting on it now, since benoit will just be returning and will have to take it easy so a cushy tag match is exactly where he gets stuck I bet. Guest The Son of Sting Report post Posted June 24, 2002 Goodear, agree with everything you said. Couldent they have picked a better partner for Flair than Bubba? Eddy and Benoit feuding with Bubba will drag them down rather than bring Bubba up a level.
Guest dreamer420 Report post Posted June 24, 2002 they don't have anything for bubba to do right now and since they are trying to get him over why not put him in the feud. he has been working pretty hard recently in the ring and this is just a reward for that I think. Guest Kotzenjunge Report post Posted June 24, 2002 All I have to say is: IT'S THE STRAIGHT LEG! THE STRAIGHT LEG!!!!!! Gad, to think Eddie and Flair forgot that...
Guest Redhawk Report post Posted June 24, 2002 What to do with Bubba Dudley...hmmm...hey, how about PUT HIM IN A TAG TEAM WITH D-VON! Seriously, I see no point of trying to give Bubba a singles push. At this moment I am watching D-Von tank as a fake preacher, Bubba play Dusty Rhodes 2002, all while the WWE has this god-awfully shitty tag division. One obvious step towards a solution is to put the Dudley Boyz together. In fact, they never should have split. There are some tag team "specialists" that can go on to singles success. Edge and Christian are two examples. Shawn Michaels, Booker T, and Scott Steiner are others. And you can maybe put Jeff Hardy or Matt Hardy in there. But Bubba Ray Dudley and D-Von Dudley will not make it, which I would think has become fairly obvious. But anyway, I also don't see why Flair didn't job. Then again, I don't see why he ever had to turn heel, lose ownership and then turn face again in the span of two shows.
Guest Anglesault Report post Posted June 24, 2002 I don't understand why we should hate Eddy because he has a big family. Are Large families as evil as foreigners and clothed women now? And another thing, did Eddy mention Chavo Jr. last night?
Guest dreamer420 Report post Posted June 24, 2002 he listed chavo when he named off his nephews anglesault.
Guest Anglesault Report post Posted June 24, 2002 Okay. I definately heard "Chavo" when he was rambling about his brothers, but I must have missed it the second time.
Guest dreamer420 Report post Posted June 24, 2002 i noticed he said it first when he listed his brothers and then once again for the nephews. that was a pretty wicked little interview segment.
Guest Anglesault Report post Posted June 24, 2002 Why do I have three posts?
Guest thebear Report post Posted June 24, 2002 Do you see Buh Buh getting stinged at vegenance??? Imagine if Flair tags with Buh Buh against Gurrerro and Benoit, then turns on Buh Buh... It would in effect reform the horsemen...
Guest AlwaysPissedOff Report post Posted June 24, 2002 Why do I have three posts? There's like 3 different variations of the Anglesault name now and all of AS's posts have disappeared... Now that's fuckin' weird.
Guest Human Fly Report post Posted June 24, 2002 Imagine if Flair tags with Buh Buh against Gurrerro and Benoit, then turns on Buh Buh... It would in effect reform the horsemen... As long as Bubba isn't in any form of the horseman.
Guest Some Guy Report post Posted June 24, 2002 Eddy does have a brother named Chavo, that's why his nephew is named Chavo Jr.
Guest Smeghead Report post Posted June 24, 2002 They never should have made the Guerrero vs. Flair match in the first place. As soon as I saw it on the card, I thought to myself, there's no way any good can come from this match. Flair has been losing to people left and right. Another loss would make him look even worse. Eddy, with Benoit in his corner, would look incredibly shitty if he couldn't beat a man who is past the age of 50. So he couldn't afford to lose either. So the mistake wasn't really Eddy jobbing to Flair. The mistake was the match itself. It never should've happened.
Guest Prince Paul Report post Posted June 25, 2002 That's one of the only matches I didn't predict to be right last night. That, and the KOTR finals of course. But yes, I was very disturbed Eddy lost. And his promo was fucking great!
Guest dreamer420 Report post Posted June 25, 2002 the ending of that match was a little weird was it not? i mean bubba hits the bubba-bomb, and then a minute later flair finally covers eddie and wins the match. i thought for sure eddie was going to kick out and the match was going to continue. He's a billion years old and he should have long since reatired. Him sticking around is symptomatic of the issues WWe has of not pushing younger guys (younger because Eddie's no spring chicken) and continueing to drag out these old has beens over and over and over and over. Its getting to the point where the next generation will NEVER get a chance to be at the tippie top because of leaches like Hogan and Flair that won't just go HOME.
