Guest pinnacleofallthingsmanly Posted June 24, 2002 Report Posted June 24, 2002 Does anyone else have this game? I'm halfway decent at it since I played the N64 version. I like some of the new characters, but there are parts of this game that are hard as hell. The Event Matches come to mind. I was playng the Dr. Mario one and getting my ass kicked. It was frustrating the hell out of me until I got a fluke win. The young Link versus Link match is very, very hard too. Right now I have completed the first 39 with the exception of the Lethal Marathon game. Does anyone know how to beat it?
Guest Flyboy Posted June 24, 2002 Report Posted June 24, 2002 I had the game for awhile now, but since I mastered it and I don't play with friends I sold SSBM AND WMX8 back to Software Etc. for Grand Theft Auto III for PC. It's a kickass game, though... the Event matches can be hard as fuck.
Guest pinnacleofallthingsmanly Posted June 24, 2002 Report Posted June 24, 2002 Playing as Shiek is fun as hell though; She's a very nimble person.
Guest Doomsault Posted June 25, 2002 Report Posted June 25, 2002 This has got to be one of my favorite games ever. My friends and I have had a bunch of tournaments, I've topped the charts after disgracing my rival 3 times in a row. My favorite characters are Marth, Cpt. Falcon, and Doctor Mario. I'm decent with Samus also but she's a little awkward to use. Yeah, the event matches are a little hard at first but the key is to play them over and over again until you get used to the paterns. It's worth it in the end because by beating all of the event matches you unlock every level and a few rare trophies.
Guest pinnacleofallthingsmanly Posted June 25, 2002 Report Posted June 25, 2002 The Captain Falcon game seems close to impossible.
Guest Mattdotcom Posted June 25, 2002 Report Posted June 25, 2002 I love the game. Had to copy my best friend's little brother's memory card to get Mewtwo. It's hard as hell to play for 20 hours by yourself. I'm an only child.
Guest pinnacleofallthingsmanly Posted June 25, 2002 Report Posted June 25, 2002 I can probably get that one done because I have four roommates right now, and I can see three of them playing this game.
Guest Doomsault Posted June 25, 2002 Report Posted June 25, 2002 You could also have gotten Mewtwo by playing 750 vs. games, but I guess it doens't matter now.
Guest KANE Posted June 25, 2002 Report Posted June 25, 2002 Lethal Marathon: As soon as it starts, dash, naturally. Count to the 4th platform, and stop there. Let the cars pass, then dash while counting 4 more platforms (you should be on one of the platforms over the pit, I think). When the cars pass, hold your breath and run for the finish! That event was such a bitch, as I remember. I think the hardest event, though, will be event 50 (of 51 events), when you get there. You have to beat all 50 events to unlock event 51. When you beat event 51, you get the final arena, some trophies, and the Sound Test. The Sound Test is awesome and nostalgic, but you already know that from hearing the game's tunes. Mattdotcom: There was an easier way to get Mewtwo. Plug in as many controllers as you have. Each human player in a match adds time for as long as the match goes. Put the match on a stock battle with no time limit, on a stationary stage (ie: anything but Icicle Mountain, Brinistar Dephs, etc.). Start the match and just walk away. With one controller, you need 20 hours, with 2: 10 hours, with 3: 6.67 hours, with 4: 5 hours.
Guest MarvinisaLunatic Posted June 25, 2002 Report Posted June 25, 2002 I had like 280 statues and almost all the characters unlocked (except for mewtew I think..it was a pokemon anyway..) Then my gamecube got stolen. I have SSB:M now, but I just can't put that much effort into it again.
Guest pinnacleofallthingsmanly Posted June 25, 2002 Report Posted June 25, 2002 That's exactly how I felt with No Mercy. All of that stuff that I unlocked got erased because of a damn bug in the game. I went and got the stuff again, and the same damn thing happened. Now my cartridge is a paper weight.
Guest Flyboy Posted June 25, 2002 Report Posted June 25, 2002 Sheik's the best. Sheik and Link were my favorites when I had the game.
Guest BigTim2002 Posted June 25, 2002 Report Posted June 25, 2002 It's all about the cap'n, and Ness. ALL BOW DOWN TO THE GREATEST RPG SUPER HERO OF ALL TIME!
Guest JaKyL25 Posted June 27, 2002 Report Posted June 27, 2002 Marth is your daddy! Ness is your Uncle! Everyone else will taste their wrath! As for the events, keep at it, you'll eventually make yourself get better at the game subconsciously. Trust me, beat these, and you'll be whooping Level 9 CPU players like they were 3 year olds.
Guest pinnacleofallthingsmanly Posted June 27, 2002 Report Posted June 27, 2002 How the hell do you beat Young Link's target practice? He's at the bottom of a tunnel and I can't figure out how the hell to get out.
Guest bps "The Truth" 21 Posted June 27, 2002 Report Posted June 27, 2002 you can wall jump back and forth and shimmy up the tunnel
