Where Are They Now?

Recommended Posts

Guest Doomsault

I just saw the guy who played Kano in Mortal Kombat doing a vacuum(spelling?) cleaner commercial. I admit Kano wasn't exactly an award winning role but at least he was in the movies.

Anyone else know of any celebrities or musicians that have become...nothing? I'm sure there is a big list to choose from.

Of particular interest is the cast of Saved By the Bell.

Mark Paul Gosselar (Zack Morris, SBTB) recently gave a riveting performance in the made-for-TBS thriller Atomic Twister. While I myself missed this masterpiece only because my cable went out during the worst storm in a century, I can assure you, wholeheartedly, that it truly, truly sucked.

Mario Lopez (Slater) does that spoof of The View with Dick Clark and Danny Bonaduce.

Dustin Diamond (Screech). This is the best. At Loyola University Chicago, where I went to school last semester, we had this concert for a bunch of local bands in the school auditorium, called "Loyolapalooza." The emcee for this event was, you guessed it, Screech. Anyway, the guy was making really lame, homophobic jokes the whole night, so the audience opted to give him some decidedly negative heat, heckling him for his role in SBTB. He goes on this long-winded rant about his mansion, his cars, his girls, and all that shit, and basically gets booed out of the building. What a tool. I was pretty drunk throughout the whole affair, so my recollections of that evening are a little fuzzy, but that's pretty much it. Plus, he was really lanky.

Bronson Pinchot (Balki) has been in a bunch of other stuff. I'd be hard-pressed to say what exactly at this point.

Mayim Balik (I think that's Blossom's name) hopefully went and spent her hard-earned wages on a massive, Triple H-worthy nose job, and is living with Joey Lawrence (Whoa!) in a bubble deep in the Mariana Trench, where they will never again harm another living soul with their crap.

How about the entire cast of Full House (with the exceptions of Saget, Stamos, and the Olsen Twins, who became really hot overnight)?

Jodie Sweetin (Stephanie) - She attended a "Full House Reunion" on America's Funniest People in 1997. She went on to do some commercials for Cheerios, Kooshlings, & Disney/Seaworld.

Jodie graduated from Los Alamitos High School in 1999 at only 17 years old! She landed a repeating guest starring role on "Party of Five" playing a character named Rhiannon. She is currently attending Chapman University in Southern California.

Last fall 2000, she was in the music video for Up Syndrome's first single, "Drawing the Line So Slick." Jodie stars as the damsel in distress who is kidnapped by a gang of Kung Fu Fighters. Up Syndrome comes to the rescue...

I thought towards the end of full house she was cute, but I figured she was older than the character she was playing. Come to find out, she was born in Jan. of 1982, same year as I was. I never watched Party of 5, so I missed that it seems ( I know its in syn, but I dont think I could stand to watch it). And I've never seen or heard of Up Syndrome...

Im curious about anyone on Family Matters.

Judyann Elder (Harriet #2)- After FM, she was in The Player's Club, The Pest and Deadman On Campus

Rosetta Lenoire (Estelle)- Died of Diabetes on March 17, 2002

Darius Mcrary (Eddie)- He was in 15 minutes, Kingdom Come and John Carpenter's Vampires.

Kellie Williams (Laura)- She was on a couple of Episodes of Moesha, but nothing really notable.

Jaimee Foxworth (Judy)- Now working in Adult Films as Crave.

Shawn Harrison (Waldo)- Been in an episode of Moesha and Girlfriends. Like Laura nothing notable.

Heh, that's not even the funniest case of a celeb going down to skid row. Any 80's movies fans may remember the movies Fraternity Vacation, Fright Night, and 976-EVIL. All these movies had one common denominator-Stephen Geoffreys. He played the geek role in these movies (Wendell in Fraternity Vacation, Evil Ed Thompson in Fright Night, and I believe his name was Hoax in 976-EVIL). Anyways, while doing some digging on IMDB, I was clicking on the actors in various movies that I owned, just to see if they were in anything else worth my spending money. Lo and behold, I don't think Stephen Geoffrey's is going to be getting any of my money anymore, as he's also in adult films. The kind of adult films that no heterosexual male is going to buy.

Watching Fraternity Vacation has not been the same for me since I found that out. At least Tim Robbins went on to a respectable career.

And now, you know that ol' Zack has to reply to the Saved By The Bell questions...

Mark-Paul Gosselar is now the lead on NYPD Blue, alongside Dennis Franz. He's done a few movies, both big budget (Dead Man On Campus) and low budget (Specimen).

Mario Lopez used to be on Pacific Blue. I'm pretty sure he was also in the horrible Fever Lake movie, with Corey Haim. Now he's on "The Other Half", a talk show on in the mornings.

Dustin Diamond went on to do SBTB:The New Class from the second season until the last one. He was in the 98 Degrees video for "I Do." He also made appearances in Memphis wrestling, as a fan of Stacy Carter. Rumor has it that he is still wanting to get involved in wrestling. His picture was even in a not too old issue of RAW magazine. He also has a band, and most recently made an appearance on Celebrity Boxing.

Elizabeth Berkley pretty much got her career killed with Showgirls (hey, I liked it, sue me...). She's had supporting roles in movies like Any Given Sunday and The First Wive's Club.

Lark Voorhies went on to soap operas, and a role on In The House. She's been in movies such as How To Be A Player and How High.

Tiffani-Amber Thiessen moved on to 90210 (oh yeah!!!!!!), then onto the movies, like The Ladies Man, Shriek...(parody of Scream movies), and Hollywood Ending.

OK, I'm out of breath now, but there you have it.

Balki was Serg (pretty sure that's his name) in the Beverly Hills Cop movies. He was also in a movie called Second Sight with John Larroquette where he played a psychic.

Balki was only in Beverly Hills Cop 1 and 3, 3 was made in teh early 90s and that's the last I've seen of him althoug I'm sure he's been in other things.

Screech has a cameo in a movie called "Made" tehy basically make a little fun of him being Screech and that's it. The movie is pretty funny actually plus Puff Daddy is in it so you can't go wrong there. :)

Alfonso Ribiero (Carlton Banks) really hasn't done all that much since "Fresh Prince", he had a small role on the old LL Cool J show "In the House", but now he hosts "Your Big Break", a Star Search-type show.

I saw the E! Celebrity Profile on Soleil Moon Frye today, and I never knew she's done so much since "Punky Brewster", including writing and directing her own independent movie at 19.

Plus, she's smoking hot.

I remember Urkel(Jaleel White) was in a crappy movie I saw awhile back. He played himself in the movie, and was often made fun of in it for going from being well-known as Urkel to being a washed up has been like he is now. It was about the only funny part of movie.

MEPOS, BEYOTCH!!!!!!

Sorry, I virtually used to live at yesterdayland.com, not to mention absolutely loving all things 80s.

EDIT: Dreamer420, that was a funny show, dammit! Besides, it helped spawn Family Matters.
