I saw a trailer, last night, for some new animated film called Delgo. I had never heard of it, it was the first time I'd seen the trailer, and it was apparently opening this weekend. I checked BoxOfficeGuru.com, and it barely hit the top 20. Ouch. I see that it's opening day according to some random poster on the IMDB boards was only $125,000. Double ouch. Looks like the Punisher also fell to #14, after a disappointing opening weekend. Unless this one produces some ungodly-high DVD sales figures like the first one, looks like we won't be seeing Thomas Jane in a potential third one.

That looks like kind of a disappointing number for The Day the Earth Stood Still. Does anyone know how faithful it is to the original? I gotta be honest, I watched the original on AMC over the weekend, and I was bored to tears. Social commentary or not, the film just didn't appeal to me.

Yea, it had the worst opening of any film to open on 2,000+ screens.

Who saw Delgo last night? That's right, this guy!

Imdb.com list the filming dates for Delgo as 2001-2006. Some posters on there believe that the Movie was supposed to come out between 2002-2004. This movie had been sitting for at least 5 years. WOW! It did an average of $58 per screen.

They had been working on it since 1999. The Friday average was $58, the weekend average was $400 something, because it had a better than expected Saturday.

I saw it and it was pretty bad. The last 20 minutes are kind of cool, but nothing happens for the first hour. And no one disguses their voice at all.

Earth was pretty decent. It's one of those movies that you'd pick up on dvd after seeing it if you saw it on sale. Not boring or outright horrible, but it's not going to be remembered as legendary either.

How was Transporter or Punisher for those that have seen either. I'm trying to get to the theater to see them before they disappear from the big screen which I might be to late for.

I saw The Day the Earth Stood Still today, and while I didn't think it was bad, it was pretty boring and pointless really. I thought the original was way better, but I can understand if someone doesn't like it, as some people might expect it to be an alien invasion movie, but instead they get a movie thats rather talky. While I thought the original had interesting things to say in the talky scenes, the remake didn't. I liked Gort the robot better in the original too.

Punisher War Zone is a great movie only because of how over the top the kills are. Transporter 3 is a pretty good movie, but i really like Jason Statham movies. The girl was annoying at first but she gets a little better later and has some fun dialogue.

Valentina: "Oh I get it, you are the gay."

Frank: "...No. I am not "the gay."

Yeah, Punisher: War Zone was hilarious. Many people get shot in the face, and the villains have the most stereotypical italian accents. From the opening scene alone, I was laughing hard.

For what it's worth I enjoyed Transporter 3 more than the new Bond movie, regardless of how lame the chick is in it. At some point (say after the 3rd Craig movie) there will probably be a "Statham for next Bond" movement, but while he rules I don't think he's right for Bond at all.

On boxofficemojo.com it said this new Day the Earth Stood Still had a budget of 80 million. If that's the case they should make quite a bit all things considered.

Pretty sure he's also not supposed to look like he could snap your neck and do it while making sure his coat doesn't get dirty. Bond doesn't have enough respect for his suit to be played by Statham. I can't think of a movie yet where he was a character that wasn't concerned about the condition of his suit.

He must have a clause in his contract stating that he gets to keep all of his wardrobe after the movie is completed. Guess he doesn't want to ruin his suits.

I dunno, I always find humor in a tough guy that has a certain article of clothing or something else that he doesn't want "dirtied" up or messed with:

Indiana Jones with his hat

(Anyone played by) Jason Statham with his suit

The Long Ranger and his Horse
