Guest FeArHaVoC Report post Posted June 25, 2002 Wrestlers Upset With RVD, Several wrestlers said they wouldn't be surprised if Rob Van Dam gets anymore of a push than he has already gotten. Nearly everyone still considered RVD to be a careless worker, and it would be too big of a risk to give him a top spot if he raises the possibility of injuring other talents. With injuries being at an all-time high already, many don't see WWE risking moving RVD up the ladder if it means more injuries to top stars. Guest Cataclysm911 Report post Posted June 25, 2002 Well, if RVD was in the main event scene right now, he wouldn't have to worry about injuring any of the other main eventers, because they don't take the moves.
Guest Brian Report post Posted June 25, 2002 You mean because they don't move, all two of them.
Guest §uperÛnknown Report post Posted June 25, 2002 Well that's what those wrestlers get for half assing it around in the ring. If they didn't half ass it, weren't so cautious then they wouldn't be injured as much. [/theory]
Guest RickyChosyu Report post Posted June 25, 2002 Every main event is fifteen minutes of shitty brawling, and RVD is just as good at that as anyone. How can you be "dangerous" if the only thing required to main event is being able to pull punches?
Guest Austin3164life Report post Posted June 25, 2002 If this rumor is true, than that shows the nature of the locker room. Everyone is jealous of the wrestlers who get all the big pops with the fans and sell merchandise. I think RVD has become more solid in the past couple of months, and I think he's ready for a Main Event push(He has been for at least six months now). He was getting big pops during the Austin/RVD struggle for leadership storyline (which was a good direction, but ruined), and that was close to 10 months ago, so he's definitely ready to take the big step into the spotlight. The Undertaker and Hogan (and to some extent Triple H) have had their times in the spotlight. It's time to let the younger guys shine, damnit!!!!
Guest FeArHaVoC Report post Posted June 25, 2002 I guess RVD hasn't got down the "WWE Style" Yet in some of the guys eyes. Sad part, some who are crying are probably Heat "Stars."
Guest cabbageboy Report post Posted June 25, 2002 I can't think of one guy RVD has injured in the WWE so far. In fact, given that he hasn't even busted anyone open since October I'm amazed this sort of bullshit is still being bandied about.

Guest Kahran Ramsus Report post Posted June 25, 2002 Several wrestlers = Undertaker and HHH And X-Pac and Nash (the term wrestler has to be taken loosely here). They bitch about everything.
Guest Smeghead Report post Posted June 25, 2002 I wouldn' t be surprised if this was just a rumor. I remember a while back when RVD accidentally busted Kurt Angle open. The next match they had, Angle gave RVD some super stiff German suplexes, which everyone thought was Angle's way of paying him back. A few days later we find out that those stiff Germans were RVD's idea, because he wanted them to look good (which they did). And Angle asked for a long term feud with RVD because he enjoys working with him (unfortunately, we won't get that any time soon thanks to RVD being on Raw and Angle being on Smackdown). [rant] I hope it's a rumor. If it's not, these people need to quit bitching. Oh, did he hurt your poor wittle head? Take a fucking aspirin! Is he stealing your spotlight? Put on better matches. Cut better promos. If you're not capable of doing that, then get out of the way of those who are, because burying people won't make the spotlight come back. Guest cabbageboy Report post Posted June 25, 2002 As I said, this whole thing is stupid. In the past 5 issues of the Observer there hasn't been anything about RVD having heat in the back. On virtually every site there is nothing along those lines, even on 1wrestling (who used to have daily tallies of RVD's potato shots).

Guest takapac Report post Posted June 25, 2002 "Several wrestlers = Undertaker and HHH." You might want to see Jobber of the Week's post, especially the end of the UT interview that he put up. He (UT) might be shitting us, but why speak frankly about everything else but that?

Yet they should push the green and totaly untested brock whos getting over because he's goldbergesque, (and the wwf hates copying the wcw) Yeah, way to go wwf. If the guy sell shirts, fucking push him, and find guys who will work with him. (my whole suggestions box idea for the back) If rvd can put 10,000 asses in seats, then use him, if he can put 100,000 asses in seats, then use him. If he can headline and get a 1.0 or better every time, FUCKING USE HIM. Man I hate the WWF stars and their gotta protect my spot attitude, its fucking disgusting that they think it can last forver when everyone before them tells them it can't. Guest BigTim2002 Report post Posted June 26, 2002 Listen, this whole debocle is the same with all sports. People worried about getting injured. Well, fellas, you're either Ken Griffey, Jr. or Chris Benoit. You either know you aren't ready to play, or you just wait until your body tells you aren't ready. People who are too careful make more injuries occur, because if you focus too much on landing right, then that ankle might just tweak, and if you think that you might not have a good landing on the powerbomb, then you'll forget to take the right bump and you might just end up landing on the back of your neck. RVD didn't get to where he was because he potatoed a few guys. He got there because he can electrify the crowd. He got there because he can bring a little pizzazz...the fact that people think he's too risky, maybe it's that THOSE people are too CAREFUL...because those are the people getting injured. Guys, tell me. Has RVD been out because of injury in his tenure at the WWE? No. HHH? Elbow surgery. Kanyon? Neck surgery. The man he was facing was too careful. Rhyno? Same. Too careful. It's because RVD went out and did what he did, not worrying about what might happen to him. I say that being pessimistic does only one thing, bring more pessimism. Of course, that is just my opinion, I could be wrong...but I'm usually pretty close.
Guest Smell the ratings!!! Report post Posted June 26, 2002 Sad part, some who are crying are probably Heat "Stars." Hey! X-Pac has proven himself as a main eventer time and time again! you guys are right on, certain "unnamed parties" (and by "unnamed" I mean you can already guess thier names without even hearing them) don't want to see the guys who can do backflips, martial arts, acrobatics, and chair swingin' at the top while the're stuck banging eachother's heads into the announce table. RVD is a stiff bastard, but he's not afraid of it either, he'll let people get payback if they want it so damn bad. and Big Tim, when a man who has spent the better part of two years running into things headfirst gets a neck injury, I don't think you attribute it to being too careful. Guest SuperTonyJaymz Report post Posted June 26, 2002 I actually don't think its Undertaker. I mean, UT has spoken higly of RVD and when RVD/UT get in the ring, its always a good match.
Guest RickyChosyu Report post Posted June 26, 2002 I actually don't think its Undertaker. I mean, UT has spoken higly of RVD and when RVD/UT get in the ring, its always a good match. It's good in the sense that pretty much every "good" match Taker has been a part of was good: anyone who can bump well enough for Taker usually has a good match with him. That's about the extent of their chemistry.
Guest I Fear Hogans Air Guitair Report post Posted June 26, 2002 I havent heard of RVD injuring wrestlers since sometime last year. Even Chris Jericho said a while back that RVD wasn't Stiff he was just Very misunderstood. It probably Because the other Wrestlers are jelous of RVD's Pop's (Triple H). It's the summer of Rob Van Dam
Guest El Psycho Diablo Report post Posted June 26, 2002 Of course they'd say he's stiff. Especially when WWF main events have mostly degenerated into by-the-numbers spot..and laughably bad punch fests. "Mommy, HE HIT ME!". If somebody is complaining about it (X-pac, maybe?) they need to just shut their mouth, and get over it. Even RVD's stifness is child's play compared to the tamer puro stuff I've seen. When they're getting dropped on the head, and black eyes left and right, then they can bitch. Not when they get hit by a little "stiff kick" -Shiro

Guest goodolemr Report post Posted June 26, 2002 Well, well, well. More bullcrap from 'unnamed wrestlers.' Fucking cowards. I'm tired of this bullshit. RVD is over with the fans because of his wrestling style. I hope Vince McMahon and his yes-men realise this. Who really gives a damn what X-Pac or some other piece of dead weight thinks? This is not to the time to be fucking around with RVD.

Guest Austin3164life Report post Posted June 26, 2002 Actually, the Torch also mentioned that both X-Pac and RVD liked their match, and that they both wanted to work with the other more often. I heard about that as well. Sure, there may be some better all aroud wrestlers than RVD (Hurricane Helms for instance) but RVD has the crowd with him (he's had it for months and months) and he needs that Main Event push. With Austin gone, and The Rock hiding somewhere, they need that big face. RVD is the man. If not him, then Booker T.......
