Is the WWE really that bad, or is it just such a drop in quality from the past couple of years that we criticize it more than we should?

After watching King of the Ring, I have absolutely no problem saying this with no hesitation whatsoever: HELL YES!!!

The WWE isn't that bad in that the roster is strong, and there are usually entertaining matches. It is the booking that is horrible, and more than anything that is what influences the fans enjoyment the most.

The booking is horrible in the fact that it's so overbearing and repetitive. All we see in any match, whether it be cruiserweight or Main Event, is punch kick, a few simple chain moves and that's it. The roster is the strongest it's ever been for the company. Vince has so much potential to make the company a powerhouse 100x what it is. The booking is garbage though, and there's no competition to amp up the effort of management.......

The Gap between what they are, and what they should be is incredibly large. They have the talent, they have the money, they just aren't producing their potential.

It can't be 1995 bad because they don't have the Godwins...Or IRS...

The Wwfs talent and money was low back then, now it is high, and the product is at sub-part levels.

It's just that Vince has pretty much the greatest assembling of talent in North American wrestling history, and the probable main event for next week's RAW is Undertaker v. Jeff Hardy in a ladder match for the Undisputed title. And Smackdown has just become totally uninteresting (I haven't watched a complete episode in a LONG time).

Plus, they're pushing a guy who, with time, can become a real force, WAY before he's ready.

That's right, the difference between the potential goodness of the company and the actual goodness is massive. The general utter stupidity is a huge contributing factor as well; silly booking, endless kicking out of finishers and stale main events.

Well, its been a pretty bad year... a year of transition. Match quality is down, show quality is down, everything is down. The year has been full of cheap ratings ploys which have done all but backfire, and guys like Chris Jericho who were being pushed to the top in 2001 are back where they started. This year has been bad and I don't think it will pick up. 2003 will be better, because guys like Taker, Hogan, and others will be getting the "F" out.

i didn't watch raw last night. and i won't watch it next week, or the week after. NONE of the feuds are appealing to me right now. Not one. RVD isn't in the title picture. Rock vs. Trips. vs. Taker (zzzzzzz), I love Booker's skits with Goldust but they are not enough for me to tune in every week esp. when they are feuding with the NWO. Eddy is feuding with Bubba Fucking Dudley.

I have yet to see one full episode of SD! since the split. Angle beat Hogan but isn't in the title picture or in any feud that has the potential to be good. Jericho is a joke. The matches on SD are even shorter than the RAW matches. Trips,Hogan and Taker have been all over that show.

So for the roster the WWF has assembled, I would say that it is that bad. Bad booking, bad angles, bad storylines, bad matches. WTF!?!?!?!?

The split has only furthered the decrease in quality. Bradshaw and Lesnar get pushes but Lance Storm and Christian don't? I You guys sat through a 30 minute HHH roid rage party but weren't rewarded with 10 minute cruiser or Jerich-Angle matches. Fuck it. The WWE is pathetic. Yell at me when Benoit is wrestling full-time again. In the meantime, I'm going to do some heavy tape trading and grab a handful of quality wrestling tapes. Never fear, there are always alternatives to the crap you are watching now and I have finally reached that point.

Sure he didn't....Sure he didn't... Just another one of Mcmahons perversions.

Here is the problem with 2002 being a 'transitional year'... IT SHOULD HAVE BEEN 2000! or at least 2001.

Oh Golly Gosh, WWE is that bad. When you have guys like Test, Bob Holly, Albert, Kane, all Cruiserweights working with Kurt Angle.. There's an obvious lack of talent there. Kurt should not have to work with such plebieans.

Anglesalt - If you're gonna mock Anglesault, at least learn to spell.

WWE isn't GODAWFUL like some people say, but it certainly could be much better. It's hitting a slump, like it has before and like it certainly will again.

What is it and what it can be *shudders*... it's almost unbearable, but like everyone's said the roster is there. So is the money, the effort? Barely there.
