Justice. For nostalgic purposes only. I listened to it a lot when I was ten.

The Black album is a good album, but this is where Metallica started showing signs of going downhill. Bob Rock came in and basically turned Metallica into a made for radio band.

because it has 5 good songs

Sandman

Sad But True

Unforgiven

Nothing Else Matters

Wherever I may Roam

the rest is kinda filler

It's all a matter of opinion. I like some songs off of Master (MoP, Sanitarium, Orion, etc...) but, like you said, the rest seems like filler.

I'm surprised no one else has voted for the rawest Tallica album... Kill Em All! my favorite of theirs, sadly, when I listen to it... it depresses me to think of what Metallica could have been! I mean Master of Puppets and Ride the Lightning are both awesome... but Kill Em All rules.

"Ride the Lightning" all the way. Really you should of left everything after "Justice.." off the list.

Yeah but the first one is awesome. Might only have 5 or 6 songs on it but it kicked ass. Love "Crash Course In Brain Surgery".

Kill 'Em All baby! Every song on it is awsome the only one I can't listen twice in a row without getting sick of it is Metal Malisha, but even that's good.

The black album only gets a bad rap because it's when they started changing styles but everyone was too busy whining about that to actually grade it on it's actual quality. I like it.

Or maybe people don't like The Black Album because it's simply their worst album?

Think about it. The first 4 LPs are CLASSICS on the hard rock/metal scene. Hell, even hardcore elitist punkers own those albums, and nobody would make fun of them, because the albums were that good. Metallica made thrash metal, then made it popular, and were known for putting on a great live show and playing nothing but pure, straight-up, kick ass metal. They settled for nobody, tore down arenas, and drove their fans crazy with the raw energy of their shows. The songs were complex, but in a "simplistic" way of being complex. And then they released The Black Album.

The Black Album is by far their most successful album in a mainstream sense, true. But the songs were written to strictly be catchy, the band got rid of their 4-5 riffs per song rule and replaced it with a 2-3 riffs per song rule. The lyrics and vocals are the only thing to improve, honestly.

I'm a hardcore Metallica fan. Always have been, and I always will be, and I say The Black Album is their worst album from both a musical standpoint and a career standpoint. It began the transition from Kings Of Metal to Some Old Guys In A Rock Band.

....Or maybe they did the right thing and GREW UP into something they all thought was better. They just HAPPENED to make a shitload of money and fame on it.

NO band can make it big without making at least ONE quality...I mean true QUALITY song. Just because you people are so called "Metal purists" doesnt mean you are "musically knowledgeable"

shit someone voted for garage inc!!!!

I did, as a gag. HA HA HA I'm so funny. You guys were talking about the fact that that LOAD and RELOAD would pulla donut, and Garage Inc. was the least offensive out of all of them.

Truth be told, I like almost all of their CD's, expect the Loads. Kill Em all was great metal, raw and loud. Ride the Lightning is one of my favorites, Trapped under ice is one of my favorite 'Tallica songs.

Did anyone here like S&M? I thought some of it was a little awkward, but all in all, it was a good CD.

My favorite: Master of Puppets

I voted for Ride the Lightning, just barely beating out Master of Puppets. They're both great albums from begining to end, but Fade to Black is the best song on either album, so Ride wins.
