Mark Madden in the WWF

Recommended Posts

Guest TheDames7

I just read at 411 that Nash is trying to convince the WWF to hire Madden after the split.  Your thoughts?

If Nash is going to get anyone a job, I'd prefer it if it was the Second Coming....Mike Sanders :)

Personally, I would prefer to have Styles, but he has already stated that they offered him a full time position that he had to turn down.  He is very happy with what he is doing now....and GET THIS....the WWF's contract would have been a substantial paycut.

He would have preferred a part time contract, and apart from Todd Pettengill, I dont think any announcers have ever gotten a deal like that.

I've heard that Mike Sanders is learning how to announce and I would just love it if he was brought in....in ANY capacity.

Because Lord knows we couldn't get through life without hearing "You're S.O.L. and you know what that means" again.

We'll see how much stroke Nash has. I wouldn't think Madden has the appearance Vince likes.

Could you image Madden with Lawler and Ross?

Ross: What a slobberknocker!!!

Lawler: PUPPIES!

Madden: Spinarooni! Spinarooni!

Madden doesn't seem to get as horny as much as Lawler, so he might not be bad. I think Madden & JR have heat with each other. Or at least in JR's case. That's why JR takes jabs at the name Spinarooni.

Paul Heyman is great, he always stuck to watching the match and had the guts to tell JR to shut up.

I live in Pittsburgh, and have met Madden several times. I also know, as anyone around here who cares does, how he behaves not just backstage at wrestling events, but behind the scenes at every job he holds down. His only angle is to piss people off. This obviously occured in WCW with Page; and it's occured multiple times on his radio show, with his insuations that Kordell Stewart is a homosexual, which go far beyond on-air kidding. Madden would piss off McMahon within weeks, guaranteed. While I have no problem with pissing off Vince McMahon - I encourage it, in fact - Madden simply wouldn't work in the WWF. If you need another announcer after the split, use Heyman. Hell, here's a thought; use Perfect. He was never the best commentator in the world, but he was always sure as hell better than Lawler.

madden ain't got the appearence but can throw a few insider term here and there. obviously, it would mean no nash jabbbing and full kiss-ass mode for the outsiders.

but it'd be good to have madden and page in the same federation. I can imagine the backstage skits...

DDP - so Mark, having you here is not a bad thing. it actually is a go...

Mark - shut up, fanboy and get me some coffe!

oh god i pray they don't bring in Madden he is hoorible.

i've got an idea they've got plenty of injured wrestlers why not have one of them on a review show, it keeps them in the fans eyes and could help the wrestlers improve their mic skills. I'd lve to see Kanyon doing commentary.

I wouldn't say "anyone". Schiavone wouldn't be.

Heck, Cole isn't even the worst announcer in the WWF. Jerry Lawler holds that distinction.

...Who said that Lawler sucked back when the "Bring Back Lawler" chants were at the loudest.

Bring back Dok Hendrix!!! Dok Hendrix!!!

Or that new guy from(I think) Metal is pretty good. He's got a unique voice for wrestling and his "look" fits the WWF Attitude.

Snoochie Boochies?

Me thinks Stevie Ray and Vito or Konnan and the juice would be more beneficial...

What happened with DPPage? Mr. Perfect can't be a commentater, he's just gotten back to wrestling. Why did they make him a commentater before he left the WWF anyway? Was the man injured?

Perfect had a bad back and stopped wrestling for a year. He became an announcer & manager for Ric Flair during his time off. Perfect would start wrestling again in late '92. Stopped wrestling in late '93 and wouldn't wrestle again until jumping to WCW in 1997.

Personally, I like Madden.  But personally, I'm in the outside of this, as 90% of wrestling fans dislike Mark.

And as for Vito, anyone remember him getting the Vampiro Push in 2000?  You know, when he'd get beat by all the main eventers, but he was wrestling main eventers so people acted like he main eventing.

If you want to bring a commentater back, Jesus Christ bring  back Heyman. I just can't stand Lawler anymore. Paul had you know interesting things to say than Lawler ever did. Plus he had good chemistry with J.R. so that's even more of an imcentive. Nash might also be pulling for Disco Inferno to come in. I've heard he's done some decent work in the WWA so they might want to try him out.

The WWF recently hired a new on-air talent, I foget his name at the moment however, but I do know that he isn't anyone who we know from the wrestling industry, it is some sports talk host, and one of the guys that did annouceing for one of the XFL teams.

As long as its not Joey Styles.  He was overated at best.

I'd like to see Chris Leary go for it.  He's not a loser like the Coach.  He isn't a weenie like Cole.  He isn't old, tired, and cliched like JR.  Have a fresh new show with leary and Heyman.  That would rule

I always thought Schiavonne was a good commentator (watch BATB 96 he did great commentating in that event) he just never had decent shows to commentate on, IMO he's better than JR.  But that's just my opinion.

I didn't mind Mark Madded either, since they need someone new for the split him and the other new guy would be good.  But I would like them to bring Heyman back and GET RID OF LAWLER, HE SUCKS!

Schiavone used to be good, but got bad towards the end. Some of it wasn't his fault, though.

I wouldn't mind seeing Heyman announce again, but he likes it behind the scenes.

Gee, how can I say this and get over with you Lance Storm marks.

Tony Schiavone is about as legitimate as a three legged donkey.  Which, we all of course know is illegitimate because a donkey has four legs...

Heyman was really hitting his stride towards the end, he was brilliant at Survivor Series. He actually made JR more interesting because their exchanges always had more of an edge to them than the boring and cosy double act he shares with Lawler. Heyman also puts some effort into putting people over.

God no... not Madden.  Joey Styles was a great one man announce team.  Personally I think they should bring back Heyman.

I really enjoyed Joey Styles and Cyrus as a team.  Cyrus was a terrific heel announcer and Joey wouldn't take any of his bullshit.  Unfortunatly I doubt either of those guys would ever be in the WWF.
