Guest nWoScorpion Report post Posted June 26, 2002 Good Rant, although I (sadly) must disagree with Piper/Bret being a 5 star match. It wa sgreat, yes, but not worthy of the big *****. Hell, Benoit can only get ***** so often. Harvey jumped in because Shango missed his cue and that forced Sid to kick out of the boot, so Whippleman had to improvise a DQ finish. BTW The Warrior (for one night only) was not the Hellwig dude. Kerry Von Erich doned the makeup because the REAL Warrior couldn't make it to the arena on time. (Hence the funky hair that looked like Tornado's style.) The Card also changed big time. Flair/Hogan, LOD/Money Inc., Slaughter, Duggan, New Foudnation vs. Repo, Mountie, Nasty Boys, Berzerker/Bulldog were all changed or scrapped from the card. Guest Drury37 Report post Posted June 26, 2002 Rowdy Piper Vs.Bret Hart for the Intercontinental Title at WWF WrestleMania VIII was one of my favorite matches of all time and I definitely think it was a 5 star match!!!I knew about the Texas Tornado being the Ultimate Warrior for one night and I heard that Sid wasn't suppose to kick out after the Leg Drop but Sid was caught with a fake urine sample and he knew he was going to get fired so he kicked out so Harvey Whippleman jumped into the ring so there wasn't chaos. Thanks.
Guest alfdogg Report post Posted June 26, 2002 Good job. I have to say, though, you're being pretty generous with the stars, IMO.

Guest Black Tiger Report post Posted June 26, 2002 I have no problem with Bret vs Piper being *****, I think Flair vs Savage is rated too high though, Maybe **** or ****1/2. Sid kicked out because Papa Shango was late hitting the ring to break the pin, so he had no choice. Sid didn't leave over failed drug test either, he left to play softball. Guest nWoScorpion Report post Posted June 26, 2002 if you have the Hulkamania magazine, Hogan jokes on Sid alittle about his true calling being a cleanup hitter for a softball team.
Guest bob_barron Report post Posted June 26, 2002 The Warrior was Jim Hellwig. Kerry was too busy snorting cocaine to do a run in
Guest Incandenza Report post Posted June 26, 2002 Countless, countless sources have repeatedly stated that NO ONE, not even for one night, has ever played the Warrior other than Jim Hellwig. I believe this has moved beyond urban legend and into accepted fact. That was Hellwig at Wrestlemania 8.
Guest nWoScorpion Report post Posted June 26, 2002 It WASNT WARRIOR. 99.99999% of people can tell the difference between them and its obvious that "Warriors" muscularness was basically nothing but the next week he was jakked again, his hair looked like Von Erich's while the next week it was a different style and color, the same as Warriors from before he left, and the ay he over acted the Warrior gimmick, so it's easy to tell that wasn;t Hellwig that night. Guest nWoScorpion Report post Posted June 26, 2002 This obviously can't be settled since Von Erich is dead and Warrior has been on something illegal for the past 15 years, so thats fucked up his head causing him tot alk with fake words.
Guest bob_barron Report post Posted June 26, 2002 Everyone you ask says it was Warrior and I think guys like Meltzer would no if it was Kerry-trust me it was Jimmy.
Guest Drury37 Report post Posted June 26, 2002 Well I am not sure if it was the Warrior or if it was the Texas Tornado,I have the WWE Hulkamania Magazine but I never read the Sid part. Thanks.

Guest Tony149 Report post Posted June 27, 2002 Dave Scherer from 1wrestling.com said it was the one and only Warrior, Jim Hellwig. He answered the question on Ask1wrestling. By the way, good rant.
Guest Drury37 Report post Posted June 27, 2002 If you look at the Warrior from WWF WrestleMania VIII you can easily tell it is Jim Hellwig,it looks like him and it doesn't look like the Texas Tornado at all. Thanks.
Guest nWoScorpion Report post Posted June 27, 2002 "I knew about the Texas Tornado being the Ultimate Warrior for one night and I heard that Sid wasn't suppose to kick out after the Leg Drop.." your quote from earlier, so don't jump ships.
Guest Drury37 Report post Posted June 27, 2002 I thought it was the Ultimate Warrior when I saw it but I heard other wise from a bunch of people that it was the Texas Tornado so I was just figuring that it was him. Thanks.
