TSM Talks (to the voices in their head): The Legacy

Recommended Posts

Rhodes and Dibiase are looking like Orton bitch boys. In Evolution there was a pecking order, but Orton and Batista were members of the group rather than sniveling lackeys.

Sim Snuka was born in Hawaii, Jimmy hailed from the Fiji Islands I believe, so he's not Samoan. I guess they could gimmick it, but I don't know how well that would go over with the actual Samoans, who might want one of their kin to get the job. Maybe they could be the "Islanders" or something, like Haku and Tama. The team could work, however their obvious first feud would be with Rhodes and Dibiase, and you know who would win that feud. Now maybe The Legacy could say that they're out of Manu and Sim's league and not to come back and challenge them until they've ben tag champions. This would at least open the door to different feuds - both challenging Miz and Morrison, and even some how getting title shots at Carlito/Primo or whomever holds the SD! Titles (probably Kendrick and Zeke sooner than later).

Wwe doesn't like things leaked, I wonder if Harry's inclusion in Legacy is at risk because it's been leaked. I think he'd being the needed power/muscle element to the group.

Assuming it's Orton vs Cena at WM25, I hope Cena doesn't run through The Legacy all by himself, but rather The Legacy is treated more like The Horsemen then the Spirit Squad

DH Smith or not, I still want to see Joe Hennig in this group.. I don't think it should be limited to four guys anyway, but it also shouldn't be allowed to get bigger than 5 or 6.

This angle would be better if they would just form the full stable already. How long has this angle been going on? Typically a faction just gets together, guys have common interests, and they....form. These guys did this bizarre antagonistic stuff for months, it gets muddled, members shift before the faction is even established, etc.

It seems like its just plodding along for the most part. I'm not liking how everyone seems to be another inept lackey of Orton's for the most part, and quite frankly, everyone involved is interchangeable.

I'd only like a Hart Foundation stable if it was formed similar to how the first one was - to protect a family member. They can't just throw them together because they (well some of them) are kinda related to the Hart Family. So if Smith joins the Legacy, and gets some flak, feuds with Orton and brings in his Family and Friends for the Hart Foundation - then I'm for that.

I don't blame Smith. The WWE tag division, for the most part, is dead. So, if you're in a tag team, especially on the B-show, you're pretty much dead too. Yeah, he needs a foot in the door, but why not go for a bigger step when you see the opportunity? Wrestling is a cutthroat business. WWE higher-ups always talk about giving people the ball but them needed to do something with it. Smith went looking for the ball. More power to him.

Also, like mentioned before, Nattie is not pretty enough to just be a valet. Talent should matter more but this is the sexist WWE. There's a reason we have to watch people like Kelly Kelly develop on TV instead of seeing other, less attractive girls that can work better get pushes.

Based on what we saw last night, a pairing between Manu + Snuka, Jr makes sense. I still want to see where Goldust fits in all this. I really haven't watched much lately, so I don't know what role he is playing on the show. But with him on the roster, it just seems to good not to involve him with the legacy in some way.

I've always thought Cody Rhodes has the potential to be a World Championship holder... especially when you factor in that he is only 23!!!

I was impressed with his stuff in OVW, and was glad they brought him into the WWE main roster. I knew once he broke away from that blue chipper role, he would start to show his true potential. He's proving me right... His mic work and his ringwork are improving it seems each week. I don't view him as Orton's bitchboy at all, especially after Survivor Series. He's coming into his own right now, and its only a few more years until he starts main eventing, and becoming a huge draw for the company.

Cody still wants his bike back.

This.

DH did the right thing. There's no point to being in a Tag Team in WWE, you'll just get lost in the shuffle. But with the Legacy, on Raw - you'll have a better chance of getting over.

I think WWE are keen on him. I suspect his lower card status has probably had more to do with his behaviour, rather than them not having much faith in him. He and Dibiase probably are Orton's lackeys for the time being, but will likely become characters in their own right in the future. Ted's just filmed a movie, so hopefully he picked up some acting skills.

If this had happened a little earlier, I would seriously be picking DiBiase to win Money in the Bank, thus throwing a source of friction in the group with Orton. He's still technically my pick to win it if he's in it, but at this point... I think it'll be too soon.

I didn't mean to imply the wwe is down on either Rhodes or Dibiase. In fact they really like Dibiase, as they've already taked about him eventually ending Takers WM streak. I think all members, Harry included, are all highly thought of by the power brokers.

I think there is storylines to play later this year involving Rhodes and Harry Smith. Rhodes could beat Ortons "Youngest Champion" record should he capture the World Title by October of this year, and Harry Smith could beat Ortons record if he can win the World Title by December of this year. Now Rhodes isn't ready and Harry hasn't even re-debuted yet, but neither would have to be in a major program with the title holder, just even getting a Raw shot at the title would be enough to make Orton squirm and challenge his loyalties.

I also like the idea of Dibiase winning MITB because it would add an interesting dynamic to the group if/when Orton is holding the title.

What is the source for this?

My memory from reading it somewhere (probably at a site that ripped off a paysite for it). Not this year, but the bookers were brainstorming ideas and liked the idea with Dibiase, because Million Dollar Man was responsible for bringing in 'Taker all those years ago.

Edit - Found it by googling Dibiase Jr, Undertakers Streak. Anyways it's from the Observer -

Source: Wrestling Observer

There are very early plans being discussed by WWE management to end the Undertaker’s Wrestlemania winning streak in the next 2 years. They don’t want a legend to send him packing like Shawn Michaels did with Ric Flair, but rather a new star that could be cemented as a main player by getting such a high profile victory. One of the names being discussed is Ted DiBiase Jr. Although they feel he needs a good two years before he will be ready. One possibility is to bring back his father Ted DiBiase and weave him in to a storyline, considering he was the person that (Kayfabe) introduced the Undertaker to the WWE.

This is obviously in its very early stages and WWE change things hundreds of times in one week, so one of two years, who knows what the plans will be. But it does reveal that they are high on DiBiase and want to build a mega star out of the match.

One thing that Dibiase has behind him is that he’s a “wrestling” guy from a “wrestling” family and is less likely to quit the WWE after being made a star like Brock Lesnar or Bobby Lashley.

I like the idea of the stable but these guys all have "the gay porn look" going for them (thank you Ring of Hell). They all look the same...very generic. They have to distinguish themselves.

Also, I feel Orton is at the best position he has ever been in the WWE. He finally recovered from late 2004/2005.

They could have waited for Legacy to start and given the group the 'Voices' theme, and then let Randy keep it after the group disbanded.

I know the theme doesn't work for them all, but it would at least give the group an identity.
