Future of the IC Title

OK, so RVD and Brock have their mini-feud going on to build Brock up to that "next level" that the WWE always speaks of. So, since Brock is the new monster threat, the only way the feud could end would be with him going over RVD. Now, suppose (Just Suppose, I know that there is a lot of Brock backlash going around on the board lately. I like him, but I think he's getting the "Maivia push" and people will hate him for a long time to come)...suppose that Brock wins the IC Title, then wins the World at Summerslam. Now, given that he can't keep two belts (unless the WWE changes something), he'd forfeit the IC Title. With Vince in 100% control storyline wise, could we see that belt put on Smackdown, so that guys like Storm, Christian, Orton, Val, Holly, etc. have something to fight for and make their angles a little more interesting?

first off, who is the europeon champ right now and when was the last time that title was defended on tv?

 

i think brock winning the undisputed title at summerslam would be a bad decision for the wwe. he has proven everytime he steps into the ring that he is still very green so keeping the title on rvd would be a good idea, until he is ready to win the big one.

Although it would make whole lot of sense to get a singles title on SmackDown!, why would Vince care which show it's on?

 

I wish they never had to do the 100% owner thing, the split worked so much better with two owners with competing interests.

Regal. He defended it against Bradshaw the Hoss last week when Chris Harvard debuted.

I think they should scrap the IC and Euro titles, and create the Raw and Smackdown TV titles. It gives workers on each show something to fight over, instead of a champ tied to one show, like IC champ RVD is to Raw right now. The World title holder, Womens' title holder. and tag team champs would be free to move between shows.

Begs the question what about the hardcore title?

 

Giving that to the Artist Formerly Known as BlackJack Bradshaw kinda put it into dead endsville. Hell they throw pint size Spike Dudley or Crash, or Stevie Richards in hardcore title matches for some reason. Why not go back to Bubba or Hell Push Dreamer to beat Bradshaw for the title. but hell that would be Logical choice,and Vince doesn't deal in logic, more than his Own Personal View.

 

Had Brock Won the IC title, we would have had another Ultimate Warrior Hogan Title vs Title deal. It discredits the lesser title. Ic title is suppose to be the 2nd higest belt. Get people on that level to go after it.

Regal is awesome! Regal is like the greatest European Champion of all time. The level of prestige he has brought to it is just amazing.

I don't understand Regals title runs...had the euro title...lost it...got the IC title right after...lost it...got the euro title right back.

 

I like Regal...but he's not on tv that much anymore and they always have a belt on him...he's as over as he's going to get.

He lost the Euro Title night after RR01 and didnt get another belt for another year.

 

He lost the IC belt at WM to RVD and won the Euro belt 4 days after on Smackdown!

The IC title was usually the "wrestling" title back in the old days, meaning that it belonged to the best workers in the company (Bret, HBK, Steamboat, Savage, Hennig) and it produced the best matches. The World title was always involved in some convoluted Hogan storyline. When I think of who is worthy to hold the IC title now, I think of one man really, Lance Storm.

 

Lance has the technical expertise in the ring to produce some quality matches, which he has with other midcarders. The Team Canada gimmick, while not main event level, can gain him enough heat to be over with the crowd and earn a shot at the title. Give him a good 6 month run with the IC title, defending it against all comers and *gasp* the title AND Lance might be over by the time the reign is finished.

 

What about RVD? RVD is too over for the IC title, in my opinion. I miss the days when being the IC Champ 2 times was a big deal. Scott Hall winning it 4 times was a HUGE deal back then when it first happened. Make them title reigns lengthy again, build a guy up, give him some heat and when he finally drops the IC title....move him up to main event. Is that so hard?

I don't see why he HAS to have gold all the time when he's a pure heatsink in the ring. Regulate his ass to Heat with the ECW jobbers and what-not and bring up someone else.

This entire thread has made me realize just how much the WWE have pissed on their titles recently. Hell, the only ones worth a damn at all anymore are the Undisputed title and the IC title. Regal has been the de-facto Euro Champ for a good long while and it doesn't look like that'll change, the parade of suck that is Bradshaw has destroyed the Hardcore title for the most part and the Tag titles, well, we all know what happened to tag team wrestling in the WWE. Even the Undisputed title is in general trouble, especially if Jeff Hardy or Brockberg win it in the near future. Bah. Just shows how disorganized the WWE is right now. I like the idea of a TV title for both shows, that would make the most sense.

Regal gets lots of heel heat and has had good matches with Edge and RVD.

AS, I'm not even in the mood to go back over what I've REPEATEDLY said about Test getting the Euro or IC titles. It's not worth repeating if you're not going to pay attention.

 

As for Regal, where was this "heel heat" on RAW? Last time I checked, he was as heatless as they come. When Regal cuts a promo that DOESN'T put the crowds to sleep, he gets booed, BUT, all of that goes out the window as soon as he steps in the ring to wrestle.

 

As for the Edge and RVD matches, I didn't like either of them. The Edge matches were WAYYY too slow-paced because of Regal's sloth-like pace at times and the RVD matches were just "eh"(and considering that I hate RVD, that's just another thing against the matches).

 

When Regal wrestles Benoit again, call me. Til then, keep him either on Heat where I can't see him or Chris Harvard or tell him to pick up the goddamn pace.

Regal is great on the mic and always get the crowd to hate him- when that awesome theme of his hits the crowd seems to boo.

 

But feuding him with Bradshaw is not a step in the right direction.

 

I thought the Regal-Edge matches just flowed really nicely but thats just my opinion.

 

The WM match v. RVD was too damn short but it was awesome while it lasted. Regal killed RVD on some of those moves

the ic or euro has to go to SD! some how, maybe have an inter brand feud with i dunno, Maven and Nowiski, and this causes Maven to win the Euro from Regal at a PPV
