Guest starvenger Report post Posted June 27, 2002 Can I just say that the Chinatown "man on the street" thing was hilarious? Nice to see my people trying to represent... And the Chinese New Year's celebration in Houston was a bit much...

Guest pinnacleofallthingsmanly Report post Posted June 27, 2002 Kenny Smith: This guy is a Monday Wednesday Friday guy. He can play well on those days and make you think he's a lottery pick, but on Tuesdays and Thursdays, he can have a bad game. That s why he slipped to thesecond round. Charles Barkley: They play seven games a week in the SEC now?
Guest phoenixrising Report post Posted June 27, 2002 Barkley = RATINGS Damn, they just let him say whatever the hell he wants. Works for me. The New York crowd is pretty cool, just as they are for the NFL Draft - they booed the Knicks pick, and numerous whistles and catcalls were heard when they showed Curtis Borchardt's and Casey Jacobsen's girlfriends on TV. Guest pinnacleofallthingsmanly Report post Posted June 27, 2002 I think so. It was a shooting guard from Tennesse. I didn't watch much college basketball this season because of work.
Guest Vern Gagne Report post Posted June 27, 2002 Vincent Yarborough. Why did Caron Butler fall to the 10th pick? I agree with Barkley... Williams, Gooden, and Butler are the best 3 players in draft.
Guest pinnacleofallthingsmanly Report post Posted June 27, 2002 It was kind of funny that the crowd was booing Scott Layden so vehemently. I am a Knick fan and everyone who I talk basketball with knows my feelings about the Knicks. They don't care about winning championships, they just want to sell tickets. The Knicks will never rebuild, they will try to give the illusion that they are championship contenders year in and year out despite the fact that they really have no chance of getting deep into the playoffs. They insult the intelligence of the fans by doing that kind of stuff and they think they can get away with it. The prices for tickets are pretty damn expensive and the average person in NY can't afford to go to a Knick game. The front office has been making stupid decisions for a very long time and it seems as though everyone knows what problems need to be addressed except for the management itself. I like Allan Houston, but I don't see how the hell they figured he was worthy of a $100 million contract. They shot themselves in the foot because they will have him for a long time. Who can they trade him to if things don't work out? Who can they have a legitimate chance of signing? Allan Houston gets a lot of money and anyone that they bring in who is better than him is going to want more money. Since the Knicks failed to make the playoffs this year for the first time in a while, why not look at the team and get rebuild it? It's obvious that you aren't going to take the same team from last year and win a championship. Why not bring in the peices neccesary to make a champion? I'll tell you why, because they don't care about winning a championship. They just want to field a team that looks competitive enough to make the playoffs. That's why the fans were booing Layden. The Knicks management sucks and has sucked for a long time. The Knicks have had a history of screwing up with draft picks. I'll wait and see if Antonio McDyess impacts the team in a big way, but I doubt he alone will be the one peice that the Knicks need.
Guest CanadianChris Report post Posted June 27, 2002 In other words, the Knicks are the Toronto Maple Leafs of the NBA. (Or the Leafs are the Knicks of the NHL, take your pick.)
Guest ant_7000 Report post Posted June 27, 2002 Im a Bulls fan and I am happy that Krause took Jay Williams this might mean they could go to the playoffs next year or next year after that. But I don't why they went for Roger Mason Jr when they already have a stockload of guards like Hassell and Robinson better off getting a big man and they better not trade Crawford until that I can see him and Williams play together first. The Knicks got McDyess which is good and all, but will they make it to the playoffs? I don't know because they don't have a Center or a point Guard still, McDyess might not have recovered from his knee injury and Frank Williams will probably win starting PG spot but I watch him alot last year and he very inconsistent he's up and down, but I think he will do fine. Lakers got Kareem Rush now he could be starting by 03-04 season, Caron Butler is a steal at number 10, Qyntel Woods fell way way down to 21 to the Blazers he's not going to get playing time any soon. This is the strongest draft in a while, even some second round guys could of got in the first round.

Guest bravesfan Report post Posted June 27, 2002 Various teams around the 10th to 20th pick were making shit up about Caron's health, hoping for him to drop down. He did, but he'll prove several teams wrong ala Paul Pierce (even though the Top 10 teams needed bangers and big men instead of shooters: exception being Cleveland, Miami and Memphis, who seemed to be the only team frazzled by the rumors) YEAH BABY! The Bulls got J. Will, Mason AND Baxter...J is the leader they need, Mason will be a great 6th man with Fizer, while Baxter is the banger they need for the soft inside game. Add the Lakers to the "Good Draft" side. They got rid of dead weight in Hunter, bringing Fisher to a permanent starting role, while acquiring a explosive player in Rush. Add the Raptors to the "Bad Draft". Rush will be the next Tracy McGrady, vowing to make the Raptor players sorry for their stubborn organization.

Rush will be the next Tracy McGrady, vowing to make the Raptor players sorry for their stubborn organization. Actually, it was McGrady who rejected the Raptors, not the other way around. He's a top star, no doubt, but never would've gotten that chance had Grant Hill not been injured. It may seem like a bad move on the Raptors part, but they were freeing up money to try and resign Keon Clark, so there WAS a method behind the madness. Guest Vern Gagne Report post Posted June 28, 2002 The Hawks must be confident that they'll make the playoffs soon because they traded a future #1 to Sacramento for Dan Dickau.
