Austin and Mad TV

Recommended Posts

To start off, Austin is going to sing about his feelings..Which has somehow evolved into Austin dancing with Hammer.

Uh. Yeah.  At least it was kept short.

Now Austin is visiting a college buddy in a trailer park.

Of note is that he has the long hair like Eddy Guerrero and plaid type shirt that Mick foley would wear.

This is actually sickening.

After a terible PI sketch, it appears as if its going to be

The Austin family vs The (Mike) Tyson family (parole officers and assault victims) on a Family Fued Sketch.

Hmm.

I made it about halfway through the "Politically Incorrect" skit before fleeing the room.  "Mad TV" has always been an unfunny, low-class SNL and three skits was enough to prove to me that it hasn't changed since I last saw it.  Austin seemed to do a pretty decent job, from what I saw.  He didn't have a lot to work with, but what can you do?  The kicker was bearing witness to that overrated hack Martin Short trying to salvage the utterly horrible Jiminy Glick character in the PI skit.  Sweet Jesus.  And that guy did the absolute worst Bill Maher I've ever seen.  He had some of the hand gestures down, but he wasn't even trying with the voice.

The skit with Will Sasso and Debra was the highlight of the show for me.  I've never liked Mad TV as a comedy show.  SNL is FAR superior.

Out of all the Austin skits of the show...I would also have to say the best skit was the last Austin one with Sasso, Debra & SCSA. Kinda funny to see Steve with long blonde hair again.

Yep.  Funny stuff that last one was. Will Sasso could basically = the Fake undertaker to Steve Austin.

Is it me, or does MADtv seem like 'In Living Color II - Wayans lite'?

Yeah Tony149, I also got Stunning Steve Austin flashbacks during that segment. When he turned heel last year, I was half-expecting the WWF to make Austin shave and put on some kind of long haired wig to help him get over as a heel more.

Austin played a Tony Robins Character who was selling a *push up* machine, and he got Sasso who was playing Austin along with Debra to pitch the *push up* machine, which we found out was nothing more than a piece of cardboard with hand prints on it.

I think that segment was more of a  spoof on Tony Little. He has long blonde hair, sells fitness machines on those late night comericals and on some home shopping networks, and always seems excited about his product.

Alright, I'm not a fan of Mad TV at, but didn't they already have several wrestlers appear on MadTV in this season already??? Aren't they overusing the WWF and going a little to far with it???

HHH, SCSA & I belive The Rock have appeared on Mad TV. Ratings for the show go up when a wrestler is on. I think the show HHH was on is the highest rated Mad TV show this season.

Yeah, but Tony Little is the original "fat guy loses weight becomes semi-star". The guy from Subway is a rip-off. :)
