The One and Only NO WAY OUT thread

This match is pretty slow moving, and these guys aren't working together greatly.

Am I the only one, or did the Smarkboard's colors and stuff just change around?

Jericho misses the Lionsault, probably the first cool thing to happen in a few minutes.

The colors probably shifted because people bitched about wanting the Quick Reply feature brought back.

The board looked nice, but I prefer being able to read the thread while I compose a message.

EDITED- Let President Leary clarify his last remark:  There is only one iB skin with Quick Reply, and its the current grey and white one.  The RWB skin was nice looking, but I assume that a LOT of people wanted Quick Reply brought back.

Austin's going for the Walls of Jericho on Jericho, but instead slingshots Jericho into the corner.  Jericho flips over a back suplex, and Austin clotheslines Jericho down several times.  Flapjack from Austin.  Jericho bulldogs Austin out of the corner, and Austin lands on his knees, which kind of kills the point of the move.

Jericho runs shoulder first into the ring first.  Austin goes for the Lou Thesz press, but Jericho locks in the Walls of Jericho.  And just like the killing of Benoit's "Crippler Crossface" with The Rock last year, Austin will be able to survive the move.  Bastards.

Austin grabs the ropes.

I smell that overbooking is to come.

How's the NWO going? I've got a sad feeling that I might be wrong about bringing them back as faces. It actually sounds like they're doing a pretty good story.

Stunner from Austin on Jericho.

The nWo runs in, and Austin fights them off before they gang up on him.  Hall hits what was supposed to be a Stone Cold Stunner, damn near breaking Austin's neck in the process.

Jericho covers Austin, 1-2-3.

Match was way to slowly paced, and the crowd wasn't even largely into the match, only popping huge at the quick spots.

Wait, the nWo isn't through.  Austin's pissed, and goes to attack the three of them, but they're too much for him.  Another Stunner by Hall, and Austin lands awkwardly, putting one foot down, and the other going down to the mat.

Hogan gets the conveniently placed spraypaint from under the ring.  Hall spraypaints nWo on Austin, but it's actually nWc, as the o doesn't fit all the way.

And the show goes off the air, twenty minutes early.

Well, the card as a whole was average.  Nothing great, nothing completly horrible as surprisingly as it is for me to say it.

Some of you may notice my style of writing here is one sentence, enter, another sentence.  That's a habit now because of the fact that I used to write for DDTDigest.com, and that's the kind of format we used to use.  One day I hope to get past it, but whatever.

Next week baby, WWA PPV.  Anyone else going to be here for the Live Threat?

LOL man.  Absolutely not.  My work when I was there sucked.  Hell, I messed up when I was trying to do "then" and "than."  I just wanted people to know why my style was like that, as it's different from how most people post.

Please man, I don't take myself seriously.  With a name like Galactic Gigolo, how could you or myself even begin to?

bps can rejoice, HHH lost and is seemingly out of the title match at mania.  of course now the title match wont be the main event, so i guess trips wins anyway.  pretty slow show, nothing incredibly bad, but then there was nothing stand out brilliant either.  APA winning tag team turmoil made little to no sense, as there were other teams in that who were having an actual push.  the title match at mania should rock bells with angle/jericho, though now the real main will stink with the 3 amigos + hhh in it.  i thought it was stupid of hall to make that mark comment and the drinking joke, it went over the head of 90% of the crowd.  also, hogan looks damn old.  thumbs in the middle for mine, saved mainly by jericho and angle going over.

Anyone feel like maybe the title won't mean shit at Wrestlemania this year?

HHH sucks so bad that he can't have a good match with Angle.

RVD and Goldust had a better match than HHH/Angle.

Now we know that Angle doesn't suck so i'll leave who to blame up to you.

AND

The crowd was dead for the whole Angle/HHH match (and don't blame Steph...her bumping was the only highlight of that shitfest)

But the crowd was popping for every move that RVD pulled out.

Who's more over?  RVD or HHH?

The Tag Team Turmoil was going awesome until APA and SuckaBilly destroyed everything the other guys had built up.

Taker/Rock sucked.   Taker/Flair at Mania?  I guess we'll see how far Flair can carry that proverbial broomstick.  If Flair ends Taker's winning streak at WrestleMania I'll mark out like a little bitch with an ice cream cone.

Hopefully they realized HHH sucks and he won't find his way back in to the title match.

APA vs. Spike & Tazz...somehow I think not.

For the 6 minutes he was out there...Lance Storm was really on tonight.

Edge vs. Regal was Hardy vs. Hardy bad.  Put RVD over Regal on RAW so that he doesn't drag down Mania.

HHH/Angle and Rock/Taker were two of the shittiest "Big" matches ever.

Austin and Jericho didn't click at all tonight.

Best 2 matches were the first 2 matches.

That's what bad booking does.

And the NWO:  Hall looked really bad.  Hogan looked no bigger than Edge.  Nash actually looked really good.

They started off good with a promo...and the backstage stuff was good.

Then they interfered and showed their ages.  Too bad...it was going so well...

HHH FEARS RVD more than ever tonight.  RVD made HHH his bitch. (both in match quality and popularity)

The last 3 matches seemed a bit flat. The crowd was dead probably because they have seen HHH Angle a 1000 times and no one expects Austin to be pinned by the Lion Sault or tap to the Walls of Jericho. The NWO run in was okish for novelty but it will probably get old quick. My fav part of the night was Rock dissin NWO. "Razor Ramon", "Diesel, toot toot"!, "Say your prayers, take your vitamins, and stick it straight up your candy ass"!

I'm calling it right now!

Tomorrow on RAW, nWo vs Austin, Rock, and Trips is announced for Wrestlemania as HBK beats Angle for the #1 contendership.

That or Benoit has been bullshitting everyone about not being able to compete at WM and takes the #1 contender spot as Smarks everywhere have heart attacks at the thought of Benoit and Jerricho main eventing the big show.

Yes...the opening promo was great. I literally laughed when Hall said "hey, I wouldn't mind having a beer with a few guys backstage," and Nash yelled "NO!"

also, i noticed when i was watching that *all* the heat in the trip/angle match was for angle or steph.  there were plenty of "angle sucks" and "take your shirt off" chants, but not a *single* bit of heat for trips.  they popped for his entrance and near falls, but when he was weak, they rode angle, never cheering hhh.

thats was a pretty cool moment.  and i really liked *most* of the tag team turmoil match.  christian/stom, hardyz, and dudleys did really well, and the hardyz actually went outside the square of their normal cookie cutter matches, which impressed me.  and now, it seems benoit may get the title soon after his return, with 2 heels fueding over it at mania, and the 3 main event faces tied up with the nwo, benoit could be the next cab off the rank, whch would be absolutely *awesome*.

I think the WWF finally realized that HHH was no where near ready for a Wrestlemania main event, so they pulled him out. And you're right, the Titles will probably mean shit this year.

Benoit's checkup wasn't good, so he won't be coming back for ANOTHER 3 months.

Well.  I thought it was a pretty good show, but I'm usually pretty hesitant to slag a show that I just paid $30 to watch.  There were quite a few surprises, actually.  RVD-Goldust was about 100x better than I expected it to be.  Dustin pulled out some pretty cool looking shit and RVD sold like a trooper.  Beyond that, I think it's fairly safe to say that Triple H can no longer have a good match.  If you can't work well with Kurt Angle, then there's really no hope for you.  I pray that it's just ring rust or whatever, because HHH is obviously going to play a prominent role in the product and it'd be great if he was putting on decent matches.  He put Angle over, at least.  But it was in the screwiest possible fashion, so you know Flair's going to overturn the decision as soon as tomorrow night.  *sigh*  Jericho's a lock for WrestleMania, though.  That's so great.

Oh, and the nWo.  They were there, too.

I don't know about anyone else, but after that ppv, I'm kinda scared about the next few months.

Don't get me wrong, it wasn't the worst ppv in the world... it certainly wasn't the best!

But if that is the best that Vince and the creative team can come up with, to begin the nWo angle, well...... I guess it'll be a 4.8 for Raw tomorrow, and then back down to a 4.2 the following week.

In other words, Vince will have wasted approx. $2.5 million on three old men. Man, that angle with Austin at the end... did you see and hear how the crowd reacted? No crowd heat at all. If you've got a tape of the ppv, check out Hogan's face as he picks up the spray cans from underneath the ring. You can tell by the look on his face that he doesn't think this is going too good.

And as for Scott Hall, well..... he just scares me. I can't help thinking he'll be gone before summer comes.

Got back from the show 45 minutes ago. The opening interview seemed to kill the crowd for the remainder of the show. They should have saved it, because anything after that seemed anti-climatic. Milwaukee is usually a good crowd for Raw/Smackdown, but the matches did nothing to get anyone excited. Still a fun time.

The real question is who Angle would lose the title shot to.

Angle isn't over enough to challenge Jericho and wouldn't win at WM X-8, besides the fact that it would be heel-heel to anyone outside of Canada.

It won't be Austin because they already wrestled last night and at Vengeance.

It probably won't be The Rock because they've wrestled quite a few times on PPV in the past year.

It won't be RVD because, despite his overness, he isn't taken seriously enough by the office to headline the biggest show of the year.

Outside of that, I'm running out of wrestlers who could face Jericho.

Ah, for the old days on the Smarkboard when Angle and RVD marks would flame each other, and not HHH and RVD marks like today.  Heh.

That said, I was utterly amazed that RVD got anything decent out of Goldie.  I was expecting a DUD or possibly worse if it was overbooked (aka RVD jobs).  I do not want to see that match ever again though, it served its purpose and let's move on to RVD squashing Regal quickly.

As far as the NWO getting no heat, I think the crowd was confused after their "we are good guys" promo and didn't know how to react.

I think I am the only one here who seems to want HHH to main WM.  Seriously, if it actually is Angle/Jericho that will suck to high heaven in terms of heat and fan interest.  Ten bucks says HHH just wins the main slot back on TV in a week or so.

I noticed something tonight though, getting to this whole RVD thing that permeates the forum.  You wanna know why the guy is over?  It's simple.  He goes out and DOES DIFFERENT MOVES.  Tonight everyone did knee lifts, sleepers, punch/kick offense, chops, etc.  RVD is the only guy on the roster who busts out spinning legdrops to the rails, 5 star Frogsplashes, rolling thunders, etc.  It's kinda hard to pop for HHH's knee based marathons after seeing that stuff.

There's no way they are going with Angle vs. Jericho at Wrestlemania. It's just a shame they're going to do this crap about HHH getting his shot back with only 4 weeks left until the big show. WM2000 all over again.

It's funny how quickly the internet turned on HHH. After one ppv match it's already been decided he will never have a good match again. Right.

dont worry cabbageboy, hhh will be main eventing mania, he just wont be fighting for the title.  angle probably will fight jericho, it will just be the 2nd main.

The crowd popped when Hogan got the spray-paint. That's what I heard.

HHH/Angle had a better match than RVD/Goldust. RVD is more over than HHH, but his match with Goldust wasn't better.

I hope the WWF goes with Angle/Jericho at WM. I was shock to see HHH lose.
