Coming up on the inevitably crappy "Hey Arnold" and the inevitably kick-ass "The Powerpuff Girls Movie", I'm just wondering: what cartoon series do you want to see a movie made from?

If I had to pick just one, I'd say "Invader Zim". It's usually hit-and-miss with the comedy, but when they hit, that show is god-damned hilarious.

First runner up: "Sheep In The Big City".

The Simpsons (If they get good writers like Conan O'Brien and after the show has it's run)

Release a REAL full-length(read: longer than 50 minutes) Dragonball Z movie here, and I'll be a happy camper.

Also, I think the Hey Arnold movie will be good.

There's rumors of an animated Batman movie that follows the story of the 1989 film. It may be made with CGI-characters. I'd love to see that...a Batman movie like Batman (1989) more true to the comics and with Kevin Conroy and Mark Hammil...

i'd like to see a sequel to the south park movie but it needs to go back to the old school south park if it wants to get some laughs.

I think they decided Kenny was getting stale, and to a big extent he was.

Plus, I like Butters... I don't seem what's wrong with having 5. Kyle, Cartman, Stan, Kenny, and Butters... there ya go.

You mean mocking religion, cursing non-stop and strong, STRONG storylines?

Oh fuck Kenny i'm so sick of people whining about Kenny being dead.

Other then poor people jokes and dying Kenny was a lame character that served no purpose. His dying gimmick was stale and used up. Poor people jokes can only be interesting for so long.

Sure the Kenny gimmick was good for 3 or 4 seasons but after that it started to get really stale. It was long past time for Kenny to die for good.

Butters is a much stronger character and has more to offer then Kenny basically ever did. Cartman screwing with Butters mind is more entertaining then Cartman's poor people jokes were. Professor Chaos is much better then the newer Kenny's death scenes which were getting lame just becuase they used everything good already.

RIP Kenny

LONG LIVE Butters!

Another, longer DBZ movie.

Invader Zim, I love this show.

Another Cowboy Bebop movie, though it's a bit late... I didn't think "Knockin' On Heaven's Door" was too good.

I want to see a Mike Judge movie that features all of his characters kind of like Beavis & Butthead Meets King of the Hill.

Invader Zim is just the shit, man. It easily gets my vote. It'd translate well to screen too, because it's such a gorgeous cartoon with such vivid colors. Personally, I have nothing against Hey Arnold or anything, but man, that show just looks hideous! The character designs sucks! Hence, I am discouraged from any slight desire to see the movie.

Anyways, moving on, I'd also like to see a Ren & Stimpy movie. I miss Ren & Stimpy.

Great idea, and don't forget Daria too.

"Godzilla"... remember that cartoon? Wouldn't it be great if they made a movie about that? It'd r0x0r!

I honestly can't say there is any one cartoon series I'd want to see in a "real" movie. The reason for this is that cartoons are designed to be short, and that's how they work, and that's how they have such variety that maintains interest. There really have never been any great full-length cartoons... there have been plenty that are watchable (e.g. Beavis and Butthead Do America), but none have been as good as full-length animated movies (although there are few of these intended for an adult audience in America so it's really not fair to make the comparison), and only one has ever been better than its source material, that being South Park: Bigger, Longer, and Uncut, but even THAT got stale fast, and were it not for the post-apocalyptic war/final battle/rescue thing it would've sucked too.

I agree, and that's probably why we'll never see a "Sheep In The Big City" movie, because there's no way to make a 90-minute episode.

Some cartoons, again like "Invader Zim", could be done, but they'd have to be done carefully. One of the newer episodes, "Tak: The Hideous New Girl", was movie-material crammed into half an hour. It had a plot that could translate to the big screen, had some great Gir humor ("Your head smells like a puppy!"), and a really great final action sequence. With a little talent and a little luck, that's an 80-90 minute fun-a-thon.

And as for Hey Arnold... it's just not funny. I gave it a chance when it first came out, I saw three or four episodes, and it's just not funny.

I don't know how Hey Arnold got a movie. The show is horrible.

There was this one show where they re-created history when that black woman couldn't sit at the front of the bus, but they replaced black woman with nerd.

Rosa Parks. Didn't see that one.

I find that most, if not all cartoons, suffer when trying to teach a moral. I mean, sure, morals are good, but the humor of the show dissapears when they devote the half hour to "Don't do drugs!" Powerpuff Girls occasionally suffers from this.

That's why I love "Invader Zim". They don't teach anything. They have an incompetent alien trying to destroy the world, and a smart and stupid at the same time arch nemesis bent on stopping him. They don't devote a half hour to "Be nice to animals", or "Respect your elders" like some cartoons occasionally try to do.

Samurai Jack could easly be made into a good 90 minute movie.

Justice Leuage would be cool, but it'd probably be hard to make it without it having morals.

NICE. I'm up for both.

We need another animated Batman movie. Let Paul Dini & Bruce Timm make it, and do not, I repeat, under NO circumstances, do you censor them like was done originally with the Batman Beyond: Return of the Joker movie. I want another movie in the same vein as Mask of the Phantom, which had adult themes (sex & death) and didn't suffer because of it.

I'd love a Justice League movie too, but alas, I doubt one will happen.

Dude, a live action Samurai Jack movie would be great but who would be jack? jackie Chan? Jet Li?

As much as Johnny's my hero, he can't last longer than 15 minutes... much less a whole movie

Also, what's "Invader Zim"? I've never heard of that one... is it an anime that's not played in the U.S., or some Kids WB show (I don't watch Kids WB... CARTOON NETWORK BABEEEEE~!)? If so, that would explain why I haven't heard of it... is it a good show?

"Invader Zim" is, or was, on Nickelodeon. Headed by Jhonen Vasquez, creative genius behind "Johnny the Homicidal Maniac". Nick canceled it, but it's still got a season to go through before they kick it off the air. I just moved to Utah, and they show it at different times. It used to be 9:00 or 9:30 PM Friday Nights, central time.

Like I said, the comedy is hit and miss, but when it hits, it's hilarious.

If you have a cable modem, you can download episodes on Kazaa.

Edit: I've heard, though I don't know for certain, that Cartoon Network is picking it up. God I hope so. Nick toned it down then canceled it due to questionable content and characters. On Cartoon Network, it can be free and pure!

What about Eek The Cat?

Anyway, I think one of the big knocks on the Cowboy Bebop movie is that it doesn't branch off from the end of the series, which I don't know the ending to...what, did they all die or something in the series?

I've seen like 16 sessions.

Anyway, let me rethink my childhood of cartoons...

Eek The Cat

Thunder Lizards

Bobby's World ever get a movie?

All I remember right now...
