Guest papacita Report post Posted June 28, 2002 Ok, I was one of my old posts where I was complaining about Angle getting his pants pulled down by HHH on SD, and that brings me to the question of why do the male wrestlers wear thongs?? I mean...Billy Gunn...that's almost self-explanitory, but then there's Angle, HHH admitted to it on some talk show, and I've seen a few other wrestlers get their tights pulled down, revealing thongs underneath. So my question is what's with all the thongs?! Is there some kinda rule in the WWE that everybody has to wear a thong during the match? Do Vince McMahon and Pat Patterson line up the wrestlers before every show for a special cheek inspection or something?! Why, damn it?! Why?!
Guest Incandenza Report post Posted June 28, 2002 I suppose it's a pain in the...um, ass to have your underwear to ride up during a match, so why not wear something that's already up there?

Guest AM The Kid Report post Posted June 28, 2002 Underwear doesn't fit under spandex and you don't want any accidents to happen and have the world see...everything. Thats why wrestlers wear thongs.
Guest dreamer420 Report post Posted June 28, 2002 i think they wear the thongs to get rid of visable panty lines. you don't see that many wrestlers with tighty whities sticking out of their tights. i have seen some wrestlers who wear real pants were real underwear, but i think for guys who wear tights it is either a thong or another pair of tights
Guest Ace309 Report post Posted July 1, 2002 Boxers and tighty whities are really uncomfortable under amateur-style singlets... not that I've seen any Greco guys wearing thongs, but I can understand why someone who pretty much lived in their tights would wear one. Plus, I may not be right about this, but if the undergarment hugs the body like spandex, it seems like there would be less of a risk of a heat rash or other skin problems than with a looser boxer or brief type thing.
